If not for a particular experience we had, it might have gotten all five. We didn't stay in the rooms or cabins (camped out), so I can't speak to the accommodations. But they did let a bunch of generally tame 20- and 30-somethings run amok for an evening. It was pretty awesome. We ate two meals there. My specific complaint is that we were required to sign up for the Sunday brunch in advance of the wedding--which would have been fine, but there was some disagreement between the wishes of the bride (who wanted to hold the brunch at 9 a.m. to accommodate late risers and hangovers) and the ranch operators (who insisted that brunch would begin at 8 a.m.--as if that weren't just breakfast). This wasn't necessarily a problem, but they assessed guests an additional $8 for "brunch" because it was an hour later than they wanted to serve it. So we ended up paying $20 each for what was a pretty lacklustre breakfast, and the kicker was that we didn't even know until we were settling up at the service desk. I might consider going back as the lease on the ranch is for sale (it's on Crown Land). Maybe some buyers who aren't interested in fleecing captive guests will jump on board ...

Simply, a fantastic place to stay in Jasper. This is a bed & breakfast located just outside the…read morepark gates of Jasper National Park. You get spectacular views and are very close to wildlife. The location is remote, so you are away from the other touristy-type places to stay. The hosts are fantastic, very friendly and are extremely knowledgable about the area and what to do and see. And the breakfasts are fantastic. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

The room head 2 queen beds and our reservation through a 3rd party site was for 3 people, but she charged us extra for the 3rd person. When we tried to explain - she shut us down. Even though the service was poor, the rest of the review is unsatisfactory for other reasons. The room itself was non-smoking but it smelled quite strange as if the people before us had smoked there. Other than that, it appeared clean and spacious. The beds and comforter weren't the most comfy, but it was fair for the price. They also offered free breakfast in the mornings. Be prepared to microwave your waffles and frozen omelettes. The only hot items were the hard boiled eggs, sausages and coffee. There is a lot of selection: cereal, muffins, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, frozen omelette, waffles, sausage, hard boiled eggs, apples, bagels, and toast. It was a mediocre experience and I think I'd try my luck at another hotel rather than returning here.

We also had some scheduling issues with the Canadian 1 train being late, and they were able to accommodate us switching nights around. The first night had a bunk bed room and two showers (the one shower was standing only and about the size of the one on the train (the bonus being it didn't move)) and the second room was two double and a pullout couch and one big shower with deep tub and removable shower head. There is an included continental breakfast that my parents were impressed by, and I thought just ok, but I'm definitely not quibbling after the service!

We had to reserve our hot tub time which was limited to one 1/2 hour slot. During these Covid times that's better than nothing! They do not allow large equipment (skis or snowboards) into the rooms but they do have lockers that are free of charge to use. The parking lot is in the middle of the motel so most of the parking is convenient to the rooms. This motel seemed to be recently renovated as the exterior and interior of the rooms seemed modern and clean lines. The first room we had actually smelled like smoke which was very bothersome. Luckily they had an extra room and we were able to switch rooms to one that did not smell. This is also the only motel in Jasper that offers free breakfast! They breakfast was a simple check list style that you then bring to the cafeteria and they give you a to go box with your food / drinks. The coffee from the cafeteria is the same as the coffee in the rooms (not the best coffee but it does the job). We had a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin, a slice of banana bread, an apple, and a yogurt. Lots of food and we didn't even take all the things possible for us to take. Overall this motel was a good value for what we paid and I would stay here again! Jasper is small enough that this motel is close to everything in "downtown".
