"CHRISTMAS DINNER 2018"
26.12.2018 ~ So myself and mine went to The Moat House for our Xmas Dinner, and i have to say it was an absolute liberty... Where do it start?
The starters, the salmon was at room temperature and the bread was stale, my son's paté was vile, overall the starter wasnt at all upto standard!
The mains, no effort made, no crackling or pigs in blankets as falsely advertised, the carvery, fatty, dry, grissley meats, everything had been kept on the hotplate way to long, the potatos and veg, werent great, the parsnips were mushy and swimming in fat, the gravy bowls were running dry, even with gravy in it, we couldnt cut through the large Yorkshire Pud, it was rock solid, the staff couldnt keep up, all in all it wasnt a Xmas Dinner it was an everyday Moat House Carvery that they sell at £4.49 every week day, its the quality you would expect in a soup kitchen or prison and this place hit us for £43.00pp, x10 its worth, they say "you get what you pay for", not in this case, it was a total let down and a complete and utter rip-off, ill never go here again, so disappointed, i tried to treat the family but ended up ruining Xmas...
The Pudding, it was okay, no effort made, we got custard instead of brandy sauce..
1* is too generous, id of preffered to of given a 0*, i was robbed yesterday plain and simple and i have complained to HQ...
Advice: Please do not think this is the answer to a stress free Xmas, New Year, Valentines or Easter treat, the truth is it is not!
I feel sorry for the down-trodden waiting staff, that gave up their Xmas to graft for a pittance, they deserve a medal, management and the kitchen staff need changing, no standards!!! read more
