I could use some new shoes for a work trip next month and I ended up getting a very comfy pair of Clarks sandals - my trip is in CA so they should be useful. They were a bit pricey, about $70 and then 20% off because it was clearance, but for Clarks that isn't terrible. They came in size 7.5 wide which was awesome too - since I have a wide foot, it's usually really hard for me to find comfortable shoes. FYI, this location does not have a bathroom, but I imagine TJ Maxx across the plaza probably would have one. The Novi DSW does have one but I've been finding that most DSW locations do not.

The store attendant made a case of observing that I was returning 7 different items (6 purchased within the last week and 1 purchased over 90 days), and stated "You have too many returns, we no longer accept internet returns." Had I had only 1 item to return it probably wouldn't have been a problem. I was in the store on the phone with customer service when corporate denied any changes to their policy... so who is to believe and who is to blame? 1 star to corporate because they can't keep their branches in line, 1 star to this location because they're pissy the online store is "killing their business". I am giving this location on one star because in the past I would come here every year to get my holiday gifts for the kids. In the past they would offer great coupons and have a nice selection of clothing. This time they barely had any clothing! I asked the staff and they said the company decided to supply the store with less fashion. This left us empty-handed. I was looking for dresses, unique clothing, and accessories for the giftgiving season. They also had less of a selection of blind bags and other character driven items. They really did not have a big selection of anything! They did not offer any quality sales, the store was pretty bare compared to what it had been in the past. I guess I will go to other locations to look for my presents this year. Price points? It isn't outrageously pricey for the area, yet the prices were too high for what they're offering... As for layout/displays? The boutique definitely is laid out well, but that's about all I can say. The shop is clutter free, clean, well laid out.. If I was a stay at home soccer mom type, who goes to church events and was not into mixing street style with high and low pieces, perhaps this might be my speed, although I doubt it. Even if I was older or had kids, the clothes still wouldn't be upmarket or unique enough for me and I dislike the 'higher end' price tag on items that decidedly are not high end or even mid range luxury.
