My items were carefully wrapped and boxed. An added bonus was their selection of books. I got a nice bag full for $6. They had a outside collection of items outside for $6 a container full and I got several Christmas serving dishes and decorations. If you are furnishing your shore house (as I am) or going for the cottage/shabby chic look, this is the place in the 'burbs. The prices at Vintage home are so reasonable. They (the three ladies that own it) buy quality "vintage" stuff - not necessarily antiques, but think stuff from the '40s-'60s, and paint them white. I bought an incredible oversized carved mirror and it was only $200, a good sized antique french style linen press for $400, and a pair of french style bedside tables for $300. All are solid wood and very good quality pieces. For the price, it's not even worth hunting and hunting for decent quality furniture at yard sales, etc and then painting it yourself. These ladies have done all the work for you. Their prices are so low that they don't negotiate - and the stuff flies out of the store. They won't hold anything over the weekend since there is such turnover of their inventory, so if you see something you want, buy it. Have your measurements in hand because if you go home to measure someone else will scoop it up (as I did with the linen press. ;-) ) If you are looking for something in particular, you can give your name and they'll do the hunting for you. They don't take Amex and are closed on Mondays. I'll be back Tuesday for round 3....

i live in York but have family and friends in the area so whenever I go out there I try to check…read moreout different antique stores. me and my husband walked in there together and I started looking around I cross over the desk to look at the other side of store and the lady asked What I was looking for and I said nothing specific and then began to tell me how it was weird me and my husband walked in together and seperated and we look shady and claims we were in there before and told me I was lying that we aren't even from this area. I was in there a year ago with my mom and bought a stained glass window and she basically Said I was lying even after I offered to show her pictures of the window I purchased she said we had to leave. you go to antique stores and have to look around slowly there's alot of stuff you don't go and just look and get one thing and leave we were going to purchase several things Until she kicked us out. The last time I was in there the man behind the counter was super nice and personable and even called the owner to see if he would accept offer of item I even saw the owner as I was leaving and he was very nice. This lady made me never want to go back to that store I was In shock and shaking we literally were just browsing like you do at antique stores.
