Although I looked over the dresser, opened the drawers, etc., I did not move all the lamps and many assorted knick knacks. I then paid for the dresser and made arrangements to pick it up the following day. When I returned to pick it up, there was a VERY LARGE split in the wood, ALL the way across the entire top of the dresser and way too wide to repair by any method. This major damage had been covered by the runner, the lamps and the knick knacks. So . . . Usually, normally, sellers will be transparent about damage, flaws, chips, cracks etc., and then it's up to the buyer to move forward with the purchase or not. Because the damage was so extensive, I did not think the dresser could be transported without breaking completely in two. Because the damage was hidden/concealed, I felt deceived. I pointed this out to the staff, who launched into their "no refunds" spiel before I could even finish my sentence. I was rather abruptly offered to the "opportunity" to leave the dresser (and my $400) behind if I no longer wanted it. Still, I extend Kudos to Twice Is Nice for serving seniors in need!! Thank you to the volunteers who offer their time. Thank you to the folks who donate. If an item is damaged, you don't have to attach flashing lights or a neon sign, but it's not "nice" to cover it up, then pile it high with multiple heavy items making the damage almost impossible to detect until too late to make an informed purchase decision.

I don't write reviews often, but Matt absolutely deserves one…read more Over the past several months, Matt has helped us with a wide variety of projects around our home, including removing kitchen countertops, repairing drywall, fixing the cabinet under our kitchen sink, mounting mirrors, reinstalling closet doors, and countless other odds and ends that always seem to come up when you're maintaining a house. The quality of his work is excellent, but what truly sets Matt apart is the kind of person he is. He is honest, dependable, hardworking, and incredibly kind. He takes pride in his work and genuinely wants his customers to be happy with the finished result. More than once, Matt has gone out of his way to help us with additional tasks that weren't part of the original job and didn't charge us extra. That's almost unheard of these days. He never makes you feel rushed, always takes the time to answer questions, and is the type of person who treats your home with the same care and respect he would treat his own. While we've personally used him for smaller projects, his experience goes far beyond that. He is skilled in tile work, bathrooms, kitchens, basement finishing, remodeling, and general home repairs. He is knowledgeable, resourceful, and always seems to find a solution. Good contractors are hard to find. Good people are even harder to find. Matt is both. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found him and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Almost 7 years ago my wife- Linda, Mom- Anne, and I moved into The Orchard Apartment Homes. Words…read morecan't express the joy and excitement of finding such an amazing place that had everything you would want compared to owning without the maintenance and responsibilities. Amenities like garden plots that were tilled yearly, a refreshing pool open all year, well maintained gas grills with tanks readily available when they were empty, beautifully maintained grounds, and a wonderful dog park with artificial turf. The other thing that made us so elated was that we could beautify and decorate our place the way we wanted to make it truly our home if appropriate and didn't upset the neighbors. Unfortunately, in the past few years all that has changed. Well the pool is still open all year, for now anyways. We are only allowed a mat and a wreath for decorations, the grounds are no longer beautiful or properly kept, the grills are not maintained and tanks are always empty, the garden is a joke, dog park is in disrepair, dog receptacles are constantly overflowing, and there is always litter and dog waste all over the complex. What's so disheartening is there are many residents like us that love and care about our home and have sent requests to address these issues only to have them discarded or marked completed when nothing was done. I believe the majority of the blame falls on Blue Ridge Companies, who own and manage the property, but it seems that the office and/or maintenance staff either no longer cares or are forced not to care about our needs The Orchard Apartment Homes are listed as luxury living and when we first moved in I would totally agree with that statement. However, not anymore. I encourage friends, family, and other residents who see this post to please share to bring our beloved complex back to the way it was. If anyone from the media is interested in learning more, I would be happy to share more details since there is so much more to this story.
