The marker is right near the pedestrian mall in downtown Winchester. It reads: On this site lived Mary Greenhow Lee, whose extensive diary survives as one of the most informative records of daily life in Civil War Virginia. Lee chronicled military engagements, homefront hardships, and the erosion of slavery. An ardent supporter of the Confederacy, she stockpiled supplies for the army, ran an underground mail service, aided wounded soldiers, and hosted Confederate officers, including Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. In Feb. 1865, U.S. Maj. Gen. Philip H. Sheridan expelled Lee from Winchester, citing her "constant annoyance." She settled in Baltimore. After her death, she was buried in Winchester's Mount Hebron Cemetery with her husband.

Liz our guide greeted us and collected the $10 fee per person. It's not a big house but it is frozen in time when Patsy was there. Lots of pictures and artifacts from her life. Loved the salt & pepper shakers collection. The upstairs is a single bedroom and they only had half bath. A cute gift shop in the kitchen area. A must visit for any fan of Patsy Cline. Down the block is a new amphitheater/park that is going to be dedicated to her. Her burial site is 3 miles down the road.

Large rooms, easy to see all the formations in the walkways are easy to pass through. Quite a few steps for those who are challenged to do physical walking but otherwise it's pretty cool. Been to quite a few caverns and this was one of the better ones and a lot to see.

Second and third floors had lots of play space for kids. Fourth floor had few things around space. All the staff members were very friendly. Most of the area of was clean and maintained. The docent-lead tour, which is the only way you get to see the interior of the home and cabin, was informative and allows you to get a glimpse into how life was for the family and how they were a part of the Civil War. The grounds are beautiful with flowers, fruit trees, and a natural spring near by and has free parking. This tour is a part of a block ticket you can get for $10 and also visit Gen. Stonewall Jackson's home and Gen. George Washington's Headquarters all located in the same general downtown area.

A film on the Civil War in the vicinity plays continuously and there are rotating special exhibits. Docents at the information desk will answer questions. There is a gift and souvenir display.
