Not only was he super nice and professional, but I appreciated the fact that he didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. He inspected my windows and said that they were actually in good shape - they just needed their cords to be replaced. I was able to schedule the work with him quickly and one of his staff came out and did a great job. Windows that haven't opened in who-knows-how-long are now completely operable! He even moved a window for us that is being relocated to a different part of the house. And I am so glad he suggested this - I am pretty sure that if one of our regular contractors tried to do this, the window would have been broken. And even better news - his rates are very reasonable! Laryn is the first person who hasn't tried to completely over-charge us for a restoration service, which I greatly appreciate. He clearly cares about historic homes and wants to do right by them and their owners. He is also extremely knowledgeable and was able to point out a few other things that we need to address. I, however, have an expensive and unfortunate experience and think this needs to be shared. We met the owners of Thermal Shield at the WSAZ Home and Garden Show at the Civic Center in Huntington, WV in March of 2025. We visited their display and talked with them. Here are the facts of our experience. We wanted to have our back porch enclosed as a sunroom. The owner came and completed an estimate for us on April 10, 2025. That signed work order stated that the project would be completed in 20 (twenty) weeks. That date would have been August 30, 2025. I am writing this on November 2, 2025. To date the work has not been started and no materials or supplies have been delivered. I paid a deposit of $11,000 (eleven thousand dollars). I have not had any proof that the supplies have even been ordered. After several weeks of hearing nothing about our project, I contacted the office and the owner by phone and text message. Only then did I get responses by text messages which gave vague excuses about delays and promises that still have not been fulfilled. I finally contacted the owner and stated that the work order had expired weeks ago and with no contact from them and no start on our project, I wanted a refund of the $11,000 deposit. I informed him that I would allow 30 days for the refund and if it was not received by November 1, 2025 that I would write this review. There has been no communication from the owner or anyone in their office and no attempt to resolve this problem. We have not received the refund. In my opinion, this is the most disrespectful and deceptive business I have ever dealt with. I am also now submitting a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney Generals Offices in West Virginia and also in Kentucky. This has been a very frustrating, expensive, and unnecessary experience with this company. The last thing that the owner said to me as he was leaving with the signed work order and our check was, "now don't cancel this project". I thought that was an unusual comment. I have not seen the owner since that day and that will soon be seven months ago. I am now of the opinion that what I have explained in this review was his intention all along. I do not recommend this business and will continue to inform people about how we have been treated. They made several trips to my mom's house with color samples, measuring, and even with a mini window display for a full demonstration of the window so she could easily ensure herself this was the brand of window she wanted. Every meeting with Ronnie was as scheduled. He was always punctual and flexible with my schedule. We had 10 windows removed and replaced all in one day with the temperature in the 40's and snow on the grown. Every piece of debris, packaging, and garbage was cleaned up and removed from the property. Ronnie even pays attention to the little details like ensuring the calk matched the trim. We had LEI replace our windows two years ago, the windows themselves have been good but now we have…read morenoticed that the chalking around the windows have mold on them. We had our previous windows 17 years and never had a mold problem. We called them about this and was told that this is not their problem that we should contact the chalking company. We do not feel that this is something that we should have to take care of, we didn't choose the chalk or apply it, they did! Also, they never offered a name or number for us to contact the chalk company. So with this kind of customer service I would not recommend LEI to do any kind of work for me. Update, someone from the chalking company finally contacted us last Thursday and they will be sending someone out to look at our chalking Nov 5. Will update when we find out what they are going to do.

TEXAS Customer Experience (North Dallas area)…read more I absolutely fell in love with the double hung windows that were shown during my initial demonstration; I wanted that style for all of my windows (except the picture window), which the LEI Rep stated would not be a problem. However, it was a problem when Alside (the actual Company who produces the windows) came out to obtain accurate measurements and found that 4 out of 9 window spaces were too big for a single double hung window. I ended up having to change those 4 window styles to 2-lite sliders since the amount would have raised drastically. The LEI rep who came out to show the windows was polite and energetic but did not do so well following up with me about the minor complications mentioned above nor did he explain the installation scheduling/process with Alside. Although the initial LEI rep was not communicating with me promptly, I was able to get through to LEI Corp; they had the division Manager contact me and she who was phenomenal! She came out to my home the next day after we spoke on the phone and allowed me to have any window space of my choice to have two double hung windows at not add'l cost! Even with the rough patches, I am very much satisfied with the products and services from LEI Home Enhancements!
