Drove here from upstate NY after seeing some unique pieces on the website. The second we walked in we felt unwelcome . The owners were condescending and rude, we felt very uncomfortable walking around, and the prices were laughable. We left and went down the street where the shop owner there said she was surprised they didn't "chase us out." She also said that they frequent her store to purchase items and then sell them in their store for 5x the price! This is my first Yelp review because I couldn't let this go. Recently stopped here for the first time with my wife. When it comes to really neat hand carved enormous wood furniture this place has got some serious stuff. Lots of stained glass, doors, mantels and more. Lots of artifacts from the 1800s and more. Now the disappointing side. For one it's way too overcrowded. Not with people, but with furniture everywhere and on every corner. The aisles are extremely narrow and some practically inaccessible. I agree with other reviews, not good to bring kids or a stroller. The worst part though are the prices. I know many of these pieces are one-of-a-kind, but the price tags are pretty ridiculous. So much of what I saw looked like it came from a church. I'd be really interested in how many pricey pieces this place actually moves. Perhaps you could move more freely inside if furniture was flying out, but highly doubt that's the case. So if you're looking to browse for a minute cool. If you're looking to actually buy something you likely have a pretty hefty disposable income. read more

5 stars for the selection of items. Beautiful, hand made quality that just are't made any more. From what I say, they are the place to get a Gothic, Victorian, or gilded age mantle, bar, or stained glass window. Some of the church salvage would make for a great conversation pieces. 3 stars for the prices. I saw nothing in the store less than $1995. I expect to pay for quality, rarity, etc. Several of the items were in rougher condition than they should have been for the price. 0 stars for the store/warehouse. Way too crowded. It's almost impossible to see everything. In fact, it's almost impossible to navigate through the pieces. If you are in a wheelchair, use a walker, or have a stroller, don't bother. You won't be able to get past the front door. 0 stars for the service. The woman at the counter was down right rude. We were looking for Gothic or Victorian carved wall shelves and a mantle. When she did ask if she could help us find something, she didn't look up from her computer. When my husband said we were looking for a shelf, she responded, "We only have one and you are probably looking for something more primitive than what we have." Throughout the store are pictures of famous customers and movies in which their items have appeared. Perhaps if I had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the sales clerk would not have dismissed us so rudely. read more

Not really sure how to rate this place... for amazing, one of a kind pieces, they deserve 6 stars, but for outrageous, unreasonable prices, they get 0-1 star. I seriously cannot imagine how they stay in business with the prices! I do not think I saw anything under $1000, and most single slab doors were in the $4,000 - $6,000 range. Maybe if I had won the power ball or mega millions, I could afford to shop here. Totally agree with other reviewers on the aisles. There were a couple times when we reached the end of the aisle and had to squeeze in between 2 pieces to get out. Not a place for children, walkers, wheelchairs, crutches or big feet! The staff that we talked to were not the most friendly, but were not rude either. Just didn't make you feel like they were really interested in your business. read more

One of a kind items , Gothic, Authentic , Antique , Religious objects. This is not a retail store layout of items. It is warehouse picking. A lifetime collection that is actively growing. Hollywood movie makers love the authenticity of what they offer. Many films and shows have utilized this gem. Let me repeat , if your a casual browser it's not for you . A business is only as good as the owner who runs its. I'm an antique dealer as well. I made a deal with the owner to sell 3 bars to him that I had found for sale. He then backed out of the deal because of concerns for the economy during the Coronavirus. I was disappointed but I completely understood. I had not paid for the bars I found him yet so it was okay. Then he calls me back and said he would still like to do the deal and he would mail me out a check on Monday. I went ahead and paid for the 3 bars knowing the check was being mailed. I didn't hear from him so I called him Monday evening to make sure the check was mailed and he decided he wanted to back out of the deal AGAIN. A man is only as good as his word and this owner DOES NOT keep his word. Buyers and sellers beware. read more

My absolute most favorite antique shop ever. I have purchased a lot from Oley and continue to drive 4.5 hours to get to it. The owner knows his merchandise so if you are looking for something in particular he will walk you through the store and point out items you mentioned. He even knows the dimensions pretty much off the top of his head. To get a good look at items you need to look online because the building is packed solid. A total gold mine this place is. read more

Very snotty unfriendly place. Stopped in on a Wednesday. Open flag was out and open light was on. Man inside said to us place is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. When we asked why he replied, because every one else around here is. Asked us what we were looking for. When we told him a stained glass window his next clever reply was "they are all over one thousand dollars." I said that seems a little high compared to others we have seen, and his next clever reply was "our's are better." Amazing place. If you have some cash to spend and want really beautiful, unique furniture or architectural salvage, this is the place for you. The pieces include doors, windows (stained glass or pane), cabinets, fireplace mantels, church pews, bar backs, etc. most are marked with the approximate year and pretty much everything I saw was late 1800s or older. I did overhear a woman ask about 1930's burled furniture and he told her that in furniture, that's not old enough to be considered "antique" but would still be considered "used furniture". She was surprised but he did give her some suggestions for other places to go look, which I thought was nice. He wasn't snooty about it, unlike another reviewer experienced. I see now that Yelp says store hours are "by appointment only" but I didn't know that! I just walked in and there were other people looking around, so I walked around. I was greeted by the front staff, so I don't know if you needed an appointment today or not! The pieces are mostly HUGE and I have no idea how they get anything out of there--every conceivable place you can put something is pretty much packed. There are narrow pathways that snake through, so if you're claustrophobic or *ahem* a bit wider than most you might have some trouble navigating it all. We went to the store today and found a sign on the door: be back at 1:20. We killed 45 minutes and returned. Although the neon "OPEN" signs were blazing, no one was there. A sign near the door said, "If no one is here during business hours, call this number." The person answering the phone said, "Maybe he was out to lunch. He's the only one there today. He doesn't have a cell phone." Poor way to run a business. If he's the only one there, I suggest he pack a lunch. read more

We pulled in today, the neon OPEN sign was on. The two of us got out of the car and found the doors locked. A man came to tue door and asked if we had an appointment, we said no, that we just stopped becuase the OPEN sign was on. "What are you looking for?" We said nothing, just looking. He then launched into a lecture about how nothing was open on Wednesday, that we needed to come back on Thursday through Sunday when stores were open. When we told him that we had come from three malls that were open, he said that "No one worth anything is open today...all they sell is crap, not the good, high end stuff we sell." We where throughly offended, the malls we went through had good stuff, fairly priced, and despite his protestations, were very much OPEN on a Wednesday. We stopped at one more shop and the owners said that most shops were open on the weekend, but that the guy was a "Character". I am sure he is a lovely person, just not someone I want to do business with. Really off-putting. read more

I agree with previous reviewer- overpriced and dismissive staff. Way too crowded. BUT their stuff is so beautiful. So I don't agree with another reviewer who was limited in appreciating gothic style. Yes, the pieces are often ornate. Yes, they are gothic. Yes, they are victorian. Yes, they are often huge! But also, they are stunningly beautiful. Even if you do not care for the styles of pieces in this store, the quality is typically high & the craftsmanship is worth seeing. To me, the pieces are omg amazing. You won't find is stuff elsewhere. However, you probably won't buy it here because of the high high prices and poorly-mannered staff. I love to visit this place regardless and just look at things I would expect to see in a museum. One time I asked the rude person who worked there if many customers actually buy their stock (because every time I've gone in, the same stuff is still there). The reply was a lot of movie sets purchase their items. So there you go. Regardless of anything else, their things are stunning. My house has a mantle, stained glass and wall unit which I love. The owner is very pleasant and accomadating. I have been extremely happy with every visit and purchase. The salesperson asked if we were looking for anything in particular, we told him we were looking for a door for our stone wall. He immediately assumed we were looking for something plain. We were informed a few times during our browsing that this place was high end and ornate. If ornate means gaudy, yes, it is ornate. If over the top prices and heavy, gothic salvaged churches are your thing, this is your place. If you have a refined taste, do NOT waste your time here. read more

The store is very very crowded and yes limited mobility. I think a fire marshal would have a field day especially when you enter the front door there is stuff on either side. They definitely have a huge variety of quality merchandise and we had a very helpful sales associate Cheryl, who could not have been nicer. However, some items were not even priced and then we were told by another associate they the item we were interested in was not for sale because the save that to put stained glass in. So why have an undamaged perfectly complete window on the floor and not sell it to a paying customer because you want to put stained glass in it. Also another customer was interested in some hardware and they would not sell the hardware to the customer either. So customers were obviously very confused about what was for sale and what was not and how items are sold. Perhaps the store would be less crowded if they actually wanted to sell their items to willing paying customers. My review rating is a 3 because the items are beautiful and we had a fabulous sales associate Cheryl. Sadly she was not able to sell us the item because of the explanation above. Cheryl's boss was not rude he was just firm about how the items are to be sold. So in my opinion that is very confusing to shoppers and causes frustration on the customers end. In order to improve have only sellable items on the floor and have all items clearly marked not sold individually. read more
