So disappointed! poor communication and terrible results!…read more I booked an appointment with Anton, when I arrived he wasn't there. No one at the salon called or texted me asking to reschedule or to even ask if I would be willing to meet with another stylist. If they had called I would have happily rescheduled. However they didn't, nor did they even tell me when I was there. At this point I should have just left. I wanted to try something new, I am very meticulous about my hair and am a perfectionist, but had faith as this is such a well rated salon. So, I asked the stylist how bangs would look on me, I was very specific about the look even providing photos... a wispy Jane Birkin very slight fringe. Adding that I was nervous and would like to be able to tuck them in with the rest of my hair if I didn't like them. I wish he had just said no or that he didn't feel comfortable cutting fringe. But instead he gave me a false sense of security, telling me that he is a professional and knows best b/c he's cut hair in Milan and Paris. He cut thick, harsh, blunt bangs, with close to zero blending with the rest of my hair. Not even close in the slightest to the photos I showed him or the concerns I voiced. At this point the damage was done and I tried my best to be polite and just get out of the salon. All I wanted was to pay and leave, as I was paying they told me that there was an additional charge on a hair mask they used, I wasn't informed or even asked if this was okay and that it would be an additional charge. I spent the rest of the day crying and have truly never received a worse hair cut. I have contacted the salon and voiced my disappointment with them, I appreciate them offering a new appointment with Anton and a hair treatment, However the damage is done and they can't make my hair grow back. I don't wish to ever return to this salon again.

My nail technician Kam was fantastic, she really took care of me. I specifically don't prefer electric filing during gel removal, and Kam took note and made sure to go very gently and used manual filing technique to remove the rest of the gel. Great location, good atmosphere. Kam was attentive to the details for the nail art I requested, and I truly felt like it was a nice collaboration and result. I'd highly recommend requesting her as your technician. The salon also conveniently provides other services such as pedicures and also eyebrow threading.

In full disclosure, I was already in Europe, but I had plenty of other cities and salons to choose from. I did some online research, discovered Facto, and my gut told me it was the right place for me. Was I ever right, and you can bet I'm going back. I'm already planning my return to Europe with a first stop in Lisbon for another fabulous Facto day! The atmosphere at Facto is ELECTRIC, with owner Antony Millard leading the charge. An absolute gem of a guy--a heart of gold in the guise of a rocker. One of the most touching things to me was seeing Antony's caring, charismatic interactions with all his staff, and how they all engaged with each other. They're obviously friends, but even more so--they're a Facto family. And as for Ana, my stylist, where to begin? She's pure genius with color, treatment, cut, and style. I went in with badly dried-out hair from a summer of sea swimming, the remnants of a previous botched color job, and a photo of the new style I wanted. Ana delivered all that I wanted and more. We talked about what to do, and it became immediately obvious that she knew how to handle my mess. "I trust you," I said. "Do whatever you want." She painstakingly colored my hair, applied a deep condition/repair treatment (Liquid Hair), cut it brilliantly, and styled it in a way I'm actually able to repeat. During the whole process, she took time to show the up and coming stylists in the salon the various techniques she used. That's pure Facto--everyone pitching in , helping out, and learning from one another. I couldn't be happier with my hair. It's fresh and new, and yet it also feels more like me than ever before. While I was in the chair (because I spent a good 5 hours there!), I watched several clients come and go. Each person left looking like they felt like the most beautiful person on earth, and the most beautiful version of themselves. And that's exactly how I felt when it was finally time for me to go.
