For context, this is the second time me and my partner have been to the store. The first time we…read morewent, one of the employees acted very bothered every time we asked for help, whether it was finding items, asking for lengths of fabric, or changing our minds about the items we were still considering. We decided to ignore it, and went again about a month later. We were looking for materials to make monster hunter leather armor. We had found the perfect leather, and were told to put it aside until we were finished shopping by another employee. It was left on a side table at the back, after being explicitly told that we had access to it. We came back after half an hour of shopping, and the same employee who set it aside was selling it to another person. When confronted, both employees doubled down and told us that we were wrong, and that they were going to sell it to another customer. We repeated what they had told us originally, but they kept insisting that we had not communicated at all. The other customer also became upset and left without buying any leather due to their behaviour. One of them proceeded to tell me "Ninety Six dollars" per square meter, when they had said eight dollars to the other customer. When we went to pay, we explained to the employee our concerns, and why we ended up not buying anything. He again became very argumentative, calling us liars, and then simply refusing to engage in any conversation, however helpful or constructive it may have been. Overall, I would never recommend this store, which is unfortunate due to their wide variety of fabrics.

What didn't impress me was when I arrived at the cutting table. The agent working at the cutting table was in the middle of a personal call with another store associate who isn't working today. The personal conversation did not end when I arrived at the cutting table but continued a full 5 minutes before I asked if there was someone who could help me. Meanwhile I did learn about some of the work politics going on between co-workers. I will omit details. This store is right by fabricland and the prices are higher than fabricland. I would have left to shop there instead but this store had a pattern that I couldn't find elsewhere. When a customer chooses your location they should not have to wait for your personal call before you choose to help them. It's disrespectful and I didn't need to hear about the politics. Shop here for the fabric, not for the customer service.

While wandering around the back looking for any sort of substitute for the items I couldn't get, I came across Cheryl, who was actually completely fabulous! I know! Shocking considering the organizational culture of Fabricland. Cheryl spent time with me testing alternatives and making suggestions. The store should really move this gem of a lady to the front as she is far more helpful and friendly than anyone else I've encountered in these stores. I have a feeling that I will only be hitting this store looking for this one helpful and friendly staff. She deserves five stars for her customer oriented service. I bought the 3 zippers and spent the next 2 months going to Fabricland in 3 cities trying to find the remaining zippers I needed. Extensive selection of threads, battings, rulers and quilting notions. Staff are quite willing to be helpful, or just let you browse and do your own thing, if that is what you prefer. I have always found them to be friendly and knowledgeable when I needed, or wished, a consultation. Prices are reasonable and on par with other stores in the city.
