I was introduced to Black Pudding, an acquired taste for even the English- pigs blood and intestines mashed into a hockey puck. I have nothing to compare it to but a taste of it was good for me. It was crispy, soft like pudding and a bit sweet. I opted for the tuna panini which was terrific. I read it came with chips which I figured were fries but got actual potato chips which was fine I guess. Michael said his All Day Breakfast was spot on except for the sausage which he described as cheap or watery. The other lads said there's were fine and devoured it spite being hung over. Before breakfast I asked to walk past the gates to witness the sprawling fields. I was welcomed with a bit of apprehension and took a few photos as you may see. Apparently no one asks to go back into the farm. I breathed in the cool air and appreciated the beauty of the English horizon. I was met by the owner, Bill Williams, in a tractor who stopped me to have a bit of a chat. He is a funny man when he said the view was "alright" and there wasn't much to see. I learned the farm was 400 acres and how he had a kick travelling the California coast line several years ago. When I return to Chester I will be sure to come back and eat here and say hello.

(People from the Fellowship). All profits go towards the running costs of the Fellowship's requirements. There are a good selection of Bibles, books, gifts, posters, cards, CD's, DVD's & Christian Literature. If you cannot find what you require, the staff are more than happy to help & can order goods in to your requirement. The Coffee Shop is a small, cosy seating area. You often have to wait for a seat, as it does get very busy - particularly at lunch-time & on Saturday. (It is closed on Sunday). The menu is small, but all the food is fresh & home-made, either on the premises, or by fellowship members. There is a 'soup of the Day', & you can also, have a selection of sandwiches: hot & cold. They also do home-made sweets - & I feel that these are the best choices on the menu! Particularly with custard & a nice, hot mug of tea. The staff are very helpful & friendly - & make you feel at ease. Toilet facilities are very small & outside, but clean & basic. There is limited parking on the road outside of the shop.

It may sound odd but it used to be part of a very prestigious school for over a century - the most famous "Old Girl" was Richmal Crompton who wrote all the "William" books that I devoured as a kid. Now the whole complex is basically a old peoples home (Man are they lucky!!). So the lunchgoers were, on average, grey haired (but I am going that way too) - but it was fairly quiet in terms of lunchgoers and music (just the right volume - Christmas songs, Wham and many many more of the favorites. We ended up going for the afternoon tea which was £16 per person along with a milkshake. It was going quite nicely until a couple with their kid sat close by , which it was making a racket and spilled tea all over the table...and it started to get really cold... the tea arrived but with no milk.. by the time we got this the tea was stone cold. Oh and my partners coffee was rushed, on top of the plunger of the cafetière lay smooshed coffee beans, so he had a gritty coffee.. The three tiers arrived, I personally think one between us would have been suffice as we couldn't see each other haha and it left little room on the table. The bottom layer contained thin strips of sandwiches with the crusts cut off, an egg, beef & horseradish , smoked salmon & cream cheese, and a ham and cheese one.. oh and a quiche.. it was all really tasty. The 2nd layer had a scone with clotted cream and jam and on the side x2 marshmellows with chocolate sauce. The top layer held a small piece of brownie, a tiramisu and another cake oh and some fruit. Overall it was plesant enough but I found the prices steep for what we actually received . I would probably grab a drink here a very light bite when we can sit indoors again but nothing more. Service was plesant but forgetful, I could hear throughout our time there staff apologising to other customers about certain things..

This particular one has more personality and je ne sais quoi factor than majority of the corporate chains combined. A very small cafe nestled in the picturesque village of Littleborough just outside Manchester, I was location hunting for my short film when I came across this little beaut. Albeit I didn't stick around and was on a Latte pick up n go mission. I had enough time to soak up the homely chilled out atmosphere. Highly recommend a sunday walk along Hollingworth lake and a coffee/cake scenario at Rebecca's cakes. You'll thank me later.
