Fun and famous tapas joint full of locals. The tapas are free with drinks. And they're tasty. The service is total pro.

Several years ago, while on an evening tapas expedition, Anthony Bourdain dropped in on this seafood restaurant. The fried calamari and grilled shrimps looked delicious! I don't remember why, but somehow I never made here for lunch or dinner, but I did stop in for breakfast, twice, of all things. The Spanish keep breakfast simple, but satisfying, and cheap! A fresh roll of bread, cut in half, and smothered in tomato sauce and olive oil, is a simple yet clean and delightful breakfast. Only €1.10! Coffee? That's another €1.10. Lots and lots local Granadans got their cheap breakfasts here. Need more than that? The second visit I added queso and jamon to my tomato roll...delicious! (that will cost you more than €1.10) Jose Manuel, whom looks like Roger Sterling from Madmen, has been working there since age 16, and still appears to have the energy of a 16 year old. He has a beautiful smile and warm personality, especially if you speak Spanish!

Oliver is a good place to dine in Granada. They have inside and outside seating and I loved sitting outside with heat lamps and enjoying my food with great ambiance. They have English menu, as well as they have waiters who speak English, so it was easy to order. Our waiter was very busy but he was attentive and fast. Everything is reasonable and tasty. A must order is mandatio with salmon, yogurt and honey. P.S. They have Wi-Fi.

Our cab driver recommended Oliver to us, saying it was most representative of the food of Granada! So we went! I would recommend coming here for lunch!! Drinks are €2.50 each and come with tapas. They have the BEST paella, but they only have it during lunch :/ It came to us as a tapa but we are gonna come back to order it as our meal soon :D people are extremely nice here, a couple offered us their seats and obviously knew we were tourists so that definitely warmed my heart.

I enjoyed Oliver so much that we returned twice on subsequent tapas bar crawls during our 3 days in Granada. The staff was extremely friendly, and our waiter happily delivered cerveza after cerveza for us to try all of their delicious tapas. The cigalas was delicious, though expensive based on the amount. The huevos a la flamenca was a delicious cast iron skillet of eggs, artichoke, asparagus, and the ever-ubiquitous but always delicious ham product. This is a MUST VISIT for great tapas in Granada! If you stick with cervezas you will get plenty of delicious food, so I'd recommend skipping the menu items unless you're very hungry and need to pace your cerveza consumption.

We went to Oliver from a recommendation by our Airbnb host. We realized later that it was also featured on Anthony Bourdains parts unknown. We went twice during our stay. Tapas were very good and actually improved after we ordered a menu dish. The clams we ordered were very good! Enjoyed our experience.
This was a great place to have a nice seafood lunch. We had the grilled squid (watch out, it has ink that comes out as you stick your fork). It's tasty. We also had the fried red mullet. Delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant where you can have great food and watch the hustle and the bustle go by. read more

Wanted more than Tapas and Paella seemed like a great option . we heard they do it well and so decided to stop by . We were seated and our orders were taken immediately -our server let us know that the Paella was a two person min. what I failed to interpret (and he failed to verbally say it) was that the price doubled . If it's a two portion minimum why not just list the two portion size if you are never going to serve it in a single size option . I found that a tad bit deceptive on their end . The Paella was alright , it was not really great neither bad . The wine on the other hand was great. They do add the bread even if you eat it or it sits untouched on your table. Service was good and attentive . read more
You might be deceived when you first walk up because there's a very busy bar with lots of hubbub people chatting and meeting in the front. But in the back there's a lovely quiet dining room with white tablecloths. A calm environment. When we first came there was music going on, but they soon turned that off to establish the quiet atmosphere. Camilla was our waitress. She was very knowledgeable about the dishes and the wine. She guided us to the requested veggie forward appetizers of local tomato salad and roasted vegetables. Both were excellent. Especially the tomatoes. They have a lovely sweet flavor and had a little bit of olive oil on them. Just yummy. We ordered the fish soup which is also very well done and a very light broth. And for the entree we shared the sea bass or dorada. It was skillfully prepared with a very light dressing over it. Side of Skillet cooked eggplant. With Camilla's guidance, we had pretty close to what we consider the perfect meal, because it had plenty of veggies, and a very light entree. She also recommended an excellent local white wine which we found to be light, refreshing, and tasty. An excellent combination! read more
Great food, nice service. Tinto de verano was balanced and had a good wine flavor (not watered down). The pork loin was amazingly tender cooked well. The salmorejo had great flavor and texture. The grilled veg was not very good and was under done. They can be a little heave handed with the finishing salt but I think I felt this for multiple Spanish restaurants so it might be a me-thing. If you like hot sauce, ask for the Gallo piri piri sauce. read more

3.5 stars It was nice to be able to sit down for a nicer meal after so much tapas/bar hopping. And it was really nice to see/eat a plate of grilled vegetables to balance out all the ham and cheese of the week. My grilled swordfish was just OK. The swordfish was great quality, but it was unfortunately overcooked. Service was excellent, and the square has a nice ambiance. read more

Good tapas with your drinks. We made the mistake of diving right in buying food.. The subsequent rounds of obligatory tapas that come with drinks would have sufficed. Small sandwiches with iberian ham for round 1. Croqettas for round 2. Try the ox tail! read more

Went here because it was recommended by Anthony Bourdain. You can tell right away that this place treats tourists differently from locals. While everyone around us got their free tapas we didn't. When asked the server he told us the tapas we're only for people sitting at the bar and when we pointed out that others around us had them he kinda choled up said sorry and brought us a plate of something soggy. But we actually came here for a paella, so the tapas just threw us off. The paella itself was very overpriced. The meat was hard and rubbery and the sea food did not taste fresh. Throughout the whole night the server avoided our table while going to all of the tables full of locals around us. read more

We were excited to eat there since we read somewhere that Anthony Bourdain had recommended the place, unfortunately we found the food meh...maybe we didn't order the right stuff! Anyway the waiters were very attentive, enjoyed sitting outside in the shade. read more
LOVED this place - I was craving some yummy fried seafood, and that's exactly what I got. The boquerones (fried whole anchovies) were divine, as was the rape (fried monkfish) - and the little ham sandwich served with our first drink was a nice tapa to start with. Delicious! read more

Lovely fish dishes and a nice ambiance for the evening. Paella not recommended. Their forté is really the speciality fish dishes.
