Debenhams are still a large store with 178 stores in The UK, Ireland and Denmark and were founded back in 1778. This branch of Debenhams is located in the Bullring mall, with enterences from both street and mall level, it is a decent sized store too. The lifts here were pretty slow, and they didn't show much signal of it working, and although it was, I didn't know it was in use, so I nearly just walked away, which was disappointing It is quite a large store with a Brow Bar, Salon and Cafe and quite a few floors as well. I didn't have any close encounters with staff to comment on, they seemed okay, just average. The signposts for what is on which floor in the store could be better advertised, this store is okay but it is nothing more than that, the building its-self isn't as nice as other department stores mentioned, and in a way it has a less high-end feel, which makes it a little less special in a way, especially to tourists and potential shoppers.

Last month I came in as I had a 5% off voucher on multiple purchases so I bought underwear on one floor, then on another day some clothes for a wedding. When I got home I inspected the receipt and worked out though it said 5% off, nothing was actually deducted! I took one dress back as I didn't wear it for a wedding and mentioned there was nothing deducted! She said it's not on all concessions ... Something the other two cashiers didn't say when scanning the clothes! I've given them four stars as I do go to the beauty department to buy skin and hair care. I do ask for samples and majority will give them .., more so with a purchase! I like to walk away with something extra!! Lol They have a beauty points card which is useful and worth collecting points. You get money off when you earn enough.

Superdrug is a brand which either has good or terrible stores based on past experiences from Manchester to London, Liverpool to Brighton and across England - but this store offers facilities I've never seen in a Superdrug store before including a salon for women, and a barbers for men - normally they just have a small area of the store for women's beauty as this is a health and beauty retailer as well as a pharmacy, but it catered for men in that department too, offering a dry cut for the low price of £14 which is pretty good for the city centre, I've paid a lot more than that back home in Manchester too! The beverage selection was also pretty large, sadly it didn't have any Lipton drinks (these seem to have been replaced with fuze tea in every branch) or Starbucks beverages (some stores have these) The store, in general, was pretty modern and had a good range of products. Service and the queuing process could have been better as well as ensuring every part of the store was modern and stood out, as if not it just appears to be a little mix and match. 4* - Really good facilities for a Superdrug store in a central location, despite its flaws it is probably my favourite Superdrug store.

Out of the Superdrugs in Birmingham city centre I think this is the best one. The layout is very clear and I always know where everything will be. I noticed in other Superdrugs that they don't stock as much of there on offer items as this store does. Herbal Essense and Batiste dry shampoo is always at the entrance when its half price!

They have a huge range of wigs and extensions that can be bought and woven in on site or to take away. I personally don't go there for the extensions or on site eyebrow threading but I've been in there before a big weekend when the place is packed full of women colour matching. I go to Juliet's for crazy colour hair dye. Apart from on the Soho road you won't find it cheaper. My hairdresser has tried to stock it in her salon and can't get it in as cheap as Juliet's. So if you like your bright colours, fancy a colourful dip dye then this is the place to buy it.

She was after something for…read morea smaller head, maybe something tailored towards Asian ladies, and I was after a ginger wig for a fancy dress party. I wasn't that impressed with the customer service here and, although they did have quite a few wigs, they had nothing ginger and nothing small. We asked if we could look at the catalogue but the bored looking, male assistant was hesitant to let us. The wig catalogue was in fact a double sided print on A4 and not quite what we were hoping for. We then noticed a sign saying 'Wig Boutique Downstairs' but when we enquired we were told flat out that we couldn't go down there; Not even so much as an excuse. Man, these guys really want to sell wigs! My friend then enquired about the price of a wig in human hair. The assistant pointed to some hair extensions instead of wigs because he wasn't listening to her even though I'm pretty sure we were the only 2 customers in the shop. All in all I'd say if you are after some products for afro hair or a wig which isn't ginger or smaller than average then you might find what you are looking for here. They do have about 50 wigs in store. But if you are a bit shy to ask for help then don't bother coming here as this particular man wasn't the most approachable or helpful.
