From the moment we met Olivia, we were instantly impressed with her genuine love for her work and the connections she makes with her clients. We fell in love with her spirit and her amazing photos. We had such a wonderful experience working with Olivia and cannot recommend her services enough! Throughout the wedding planning process she was responsive, flexible, and a true pleasure to work with. The day of the wedding she and her second shooter, Lis, were such a joy to be around. Olivia was amazing. I had been looking for months for an inexpensive and flexible photographer. Either no one would return my calls or their pricing was insane for what we wanted. By chance I found Olivia on the Knot and emailed her. She emailed back the same night and was able to do a pictures the same week to make the cheery blossoms. If you could give 10 stars - we would! My husband and I enjoyed working with Olivia at River Farm for our wedding and the national mall for our engagement photos. We're both introverts and felt very strange posing for photos - but she really brought life into every photo. She photographed our engagement pictures this spring and we were so impressed with her responsiveness, flexibility and her photography skills. The pictures turned out so well! She made us feel very comfortable and her poses were not awkward! She was so quick in providing us the pictures (gave us a sample that very evening and gave us the rest in a week!). We photographed in a park that you're not technically allowed to have professional photography at but she took a chance since we loved the location. She even photographed us with our dog. I wish I could give Olivia at least six stars! AT LEAST! Firstly, she was extremely organised, which we are not. She came to our rehearsal in order to get a feel for the venue (at no extra charge I might add!) and was so pleasant and lovely it was just like visiting with a friend. Who carries around a camera. She was very punctual on our big day. We were not. She took pictures and kept out of the way while I flailed around last minute and was right there when I was ready. She never made any of it feel like a photo shoot. Less than a week after the wedding, she sent us a beautiful slideshow of the first ready shots. They are so lovely and she made us all look so good, I can't even believe it! My sister's wedding was two weeks after mine and she had a different photographer and I can't describe how different he was. During the ceremony, I never even noticed Olivia, which is great! I wanted all my attention on my beautiful bride, and I wanted my guests' attention on us. This photographer was snap snapping away during every quiet moment, and ruined my view of my own sister coming down the aisle! A final word about pricing, as wedding photography can be incredibly, absurdly pricey. Her prices are so very reasonable, and that's basically an impossible thing to find in a wedding photographer. Either the pictures are at best so-so but affordable, or they're amazing but who can afford them? Not us, that's for sure! Olivia was the best of both worlds, as I wanted fantastic pictures and my now-wife wanted to be able to eat things that weren't ramen. She delivered on both counts and we're incredibly pleased and grateful. I cannot recommend enough. read more

Olivia photographed our outdoor fall wedding. Despite the fact that It was a very overcast day, Olivia managed to take some beautiful photos. I loved the fact that she took beautiful posed portraits, as well as candid photojournalistic photos. She was very responsive throughout the planning process and was very easy to get along with the day of the event. She did not have an overbearing presence, but still did a good job taking control of situations when it is difficult to get everyone on the same page (family portraits). Olivia was sweet enough to show up earlier than her contracted time and even surprised us by bringing a second photographer! I only have two small complaints for Olivia. I felt like some of the details of our day were not adequately captured. I would have liked more photos of centerpieces, decorations, and other DIY details that I spent hours creating. Additionally, I wish that when she had taken the couple photos, she had zoomed out to capture the environment of our venue, but also zoomed in to have allowed for a few more close-up couple portraits. That said, overall, I was very happy with our wedding photos. I dont think you can get a better value in the DC area. I suspect that Olivia will be raising her prices soon (and rightfully so!). I would definitely recommend Olivia's services to DC brides looking for a photographer under 3K. read more

Let me begin with this: Olivia. Was. Awesome. We had the opportunity to use Olivia for our July 4th wedding at Cylburn Arboretum in Maryland. From the beginning to end, she was very easy to work and considered every request. She arrived at the venue to scope out the location an hour before she was contracted. Afterwards, she came to our hotel with an additional photographer (the contract was only for Olivia). We were pleasantly surprised at the early arrival time and the additional photographer. She took SOOOOO many photos for portraits, cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception (Approx. 1500 photos). I loved how she was so comfortable and flexible throughout the entire wedding, because most of my family members did not speak English and it was difficult to direct them for portraits. Olivia handled my wedding photography perfectly and I would consider using her again in the future for more informal photo sessions. :) read more

Not only is she super friendly while also being extremely professional, the pictures we got from our wedding day are unbelievable (I posted the link to our "photo preview" on Facebook, and people that I haven't spoken to in years came out of the woodwork to comment on what stunning pictures they were). Hire Olivia, and trust in her expertise. For formal (posed) pictures, she has the eye for what will make a great photo, and she can direct you and position you to make that happen. I cannot praise Olivia's talent and professionalism enough! We had met with a number of other photographers before finally finding Olivia. As soon as I met her, I was blown away. She put me completely at ease and I knew then everything was going to be great. I knew she was talented - that was obvious from her website - and her style and approach were exactly what my husband (fiancé at the time) were looking for. We also had her shoot our engagement photos. You should understand, we aren't exactly a couple that likes having our photo taken, in fact, we are quite the opposite, but Olivia made the entire experience so much fun that the time flew by and the photos turned out beautifully. After the engagement shoot we knew the wedding day was going to be a breeze but there were two other factors that really set Olivia apart. One - wrangling our large family. Olivia took charge of the situation and did it all with a grace that put a natural smile on everyone's face. Two - we've all been to weddings where it feels like the photographer is in your face. While we definitely wanted lots of photos of us and our guests, we didn't want the photographer to be something that stuck out in people's minds when they looked back on our wedding. Olivia managed to be everywhere and nowhere all at once. We have tons of awesome photos of everyone clearly having a good time. She managed to capture personalities in an instant. Yet, it almost seemed she and her assistant weren't there. When planning a wedding there are lots of tiny nuances to get hung up on, but booking Olivia will ensure you can check one thing off the list and not have to worry about it again.
