I was really taken aback by a business looking like this, even if it's a business that works w/ animals. When we got there, the owner and assistant were on a ride w/ another group. Then the group we were supposed to be riding with were an hour late, so we had to wait for them. It was just annoying, although Steven (owner) was friendly. When we walked into the empty house it looked like a construction space, a hen was walking around the inside and I even saw it poop IN THE KITCHEN! Things finally turned around when I hopped on Sherman (my white horse w/ black spots). He was a greedy little thing and ate up all the grass but he was a great horse. Steven immediately put ppl on the horses and taught us while we were riding. He was a straight to it teacher and I liked that. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to animals. He took a bunch of pictures and videos and sent them to everyone in the group. I'm thankful to have such awesome pictures that didn't cost us extra. I'm giving 4 stars despite the filth because Steven was friendly, welcoming, and I enjoyed the experience. There were a number of things that Karen promised based on her contract that were not fulfilled, and the day was fraught with blunders. The biggest issue being an incorrect itinerary itself that was full of errors. Having a wedding coordinator that doesn't have a correct itinerary sort of defeats the purpose of paying for one. Karen herself was not actually present at our wedding, she sent 2 other ladies who work for her in her stead (maybe part of the problem?). There was a ton of miscommunication, flowers went missing, tasks on the itinerary were not fulfilled, but perhaps the worst of all was Karen's response to our complaints. After the wedding, we wrote her an email to detail the issues. She was immediately suspicious of our complaints, took no responsibility for mistakes, and even blamed me partially for requesting to change a song on the Thursday night before the wedding as a reason the itinerary was wrong. She then listed a number of "extra" services she performed for us as some sort of guilt trip that we got more than we paid for. It was extremely odd. Then after days of no response, she finally wrote us back with emailed responses from her employees about our complaints and said "sounds to me that it was your choice not to enjoy your day and I'm sorry about that." How condescending! Her employees of course denied culpability or did not even respond to some of the issues we brought up. She chose to not take responsibility for errors and to not believe us. It seems like a really poor move for someone who owns a small business. We thought in all common sense she would approach our complaints with some sort of care and concern. Not the case. Watch out if you have legitimate criticisms! They will be explained away/shifted onto someone else. We have evident markers of break of contract, yet she ignored them or denied them. We paid in full before the wedding and tipped her employees at the wedding, because we aren't jerks, but frankly her callous and flippant treatment of us is dumbfounding.
