In the daytime, you should be OK, but Chambersburg Police do not recommend that you come to the Southgate area at night. With that being said, the store itself is in decent shape and pretty large (it used to be a JCPenney). The furniture selection is broad. This Big Lots also has a large seasonal selection. As for the actual merchandise, it isn't great. Big Lots used to purchase overstocks, excess inventory, etc. like Ollie's does, but their focus now is mainly in stuff branded specifically for Big Lots. You can still find brand name stuff in the electronics and food sections, but it's becoming more difficult to locate. I used to be impressed by their prices, but now the stuff simply isn't that inexpensive. They're trying to stock the store with more home decor merchandise, but I can find nicer stuff at Target for nearly the same price. There really isn't any reason to shop at Big Lots unless you have your heart set on a specific item.

I ended up taking the long way around to get home in order to come here, but if I had not done that, I probably would not have gotten to one of these until I headed home after the weekend. I definitely advocate on using the app to scan as you shop here. It allows you to clip coupons as you shop and even pay so you can bypass the registers to head to your vehicle. I have opted for this on so many occasions now. I grabbed everything I definitely had on my list. Then I grabbed things that definitely not on my list.
