Just be aware that the furniture that they sell, and the large rugs, appear sometimes to be seconds . . . with minor imperfections or dents and dings, but can be repaired easily making it a good purchase. This store, and the one in Hickory, NC are definitely my favorites . . . along with the big Marshalls in Greenville, SC off of Woodruff Road. The manager tried to avoid the entire incident. How can you sell something I have bought and you gave me the tags off the item and a pick up slip? I will never shop in such an unprofessional place.

It seemed that I did indeed leave with all my items, but I was surprised because I did not see them in the bag with the receipt. The manager Anika looked at all their cameras to help find my items. She even went to look at the outside cameras and lobby to see if I dropped them. I started wondering maybe I should look one more time in the car ...and surprise they were in the car door! Everything is always neat and organized and everything is arranged and merchandise by departments. I really like that. The sales people that I have encountered are always friendly and often times when there are sales, they actually come up and give you a coupon. I have also ordered online at Kirkland's and you can get free shipping to the store. I also really like that. Returns are easy and I have purchased quite a few things for my home from this Kirkland store. That being said, some of the items in the store are not always quality items. I have found other retailers in the area that actually sell better quality merchandise and more economical merchandise as well. But they are merchandised very well and it is easy to shop there. I really like that, as I don't like a messy store. I appreciate the merchandising that goes into Kirkland's.

It had the aroma of books -- old books, to be precise. It's in a nondescript strip center and is very ordinary looking from the outside. It has a warehouse feel. Walking in, I could tell it wasn't what I was expecting -- a warehouse -- but more of a treasure trove of books, vinyl, DVDs, comic books, sheet music, and a few miscellaneous antiques. I can't say I figured out how it was set up, certainly by section, but there were hardcovers and paperbacks of many genre scattered. Or at least it seemed that way. Each section was roughly sorted alphabetically by author, so that made searching easier. I didn't see a lot of duplication in titles. I had only a limited amount of time before they closed. It was a kid-in-a-candy-store moment; too much to explore and limited to what I could grab in the short window of time I had available. It wasn't nearly enough to do the exploring I wanted. But, with that said, I did manage to pick up a couple of titles I haven't seen by authors I have and that was a win for me. As with most used bookstores, the price is about half of the cover price, except for the first edition, rare books, or collectibles. It's a good place to try out a new author or series without the financial commitment of a new bookstore; or if you want to try your luck with the comic books or vinyl. There's a separate display case of Elvis recordings and memorabilia -- this is Tennessee, after all, and I'd expect nothing less. Just a fun store all around.
