When you go to Merrifield, you will be bathed in the amazing living variety that can be brought to your home, for indoors and outdoors. The selection is beyond anything I've ever seen, and the staff clearly loves the business. You can browse hundreds of plant and flower options indoors And they also have an amazing selection of patio adornments. The best was my experience today. I needed a garden hose adapter. Sounds simple enough, but this is so uncommon that all of the local chains didn't have anything, and one young man in an orange apron Ron suggested I just get it on Amazon. I stopped here at Merrifield, and they also did not have it in stock. But the gentleman at the counter Suggested that he'd be happy to make one for me if I wouldn't mind waiting for a few minutes. And he jumped into action, grabbing the hose and fittings that he needed and manufactured what I needed for me on the spot. That his old-fashioned service deserves a lot more than just five stars. I took some pics of my lawn, some of the current grass/weeds/plants growing and went to their help desk. It was mid-week, so not too busy. Craig was working the desk and so I don't bury the lead... he was AMAZING. I explained what I was trying to do, that I really knew nothing, and though I had done a little research, I didn't want to trust everything I had read/watched. He walked me through my options. I don't care much about what is growing, just that we have good coverage. Clover was something I was interested in. He explained the clover options as well as some low-maintenance grass options. He even spent a lot of time helping me understand about aerating since it was something I wanted to know more about. I decided to go with grass and clover, hoping a mix might balance between lawn and something for the pollinators. As the spots were relatively small, he said I could just hand spread, especially with the clover seeds being so tiny. While prices are a little higher than the big box stores, looking into this, the products seem to be of a higher quality. Luckily my issue was sort of small to start with so I felt it was a good investment.

I knew I was getting it as soon as I saw it. Even the pillows on the sofa come with it. Ali walked me over to the coffee bar, and we sat to discuss and sign documents. I went to Floor & Decor in Manassas, VA. Because I wanted to redo my entire home flooring…read more I am resident that has no experience in flooring installation, so I was relaying on their "expertise" to get the right material. So, I visited few times the store because wanted to get different perspectives from different people at Floor & Decor since I am not a floor expert. After talking to them, I asked them to order some Cap-A-Thread. Floor & Decor told me that there were no Cap-A-Thread that worked with my floor and that they recommended ordering some other product. I told them that I wanted to make sure that it was close to the color of the floor I was choosing and that it would not shorten the threads because I had been in houses that the threads had been shorten and people had fallen down the steps. I showed them pictures of the stairs from many angles, and told them that I was not going to replace the rails or spindles from the stair. They said that the product I was going to order would work. Since I believed them, I ordered the product and then ordered the flooring. When I got the stair threads, they would not work for my stairs. The manager said to cut the nose of my stair threads and mount the thread that they provided which had a nose. The installers said that that would not be a good idea because people put the most force on the nose and that would break and be dangerous. Also, since I was installing to the spindles, part of the thread would not have a nose. Customer Service from Floor & Decor said that he would send an installer to check and never heard back from him. I kept calling him for weeks and no answer. In the meantime, I started doing my own research talking to Cap-A-Thread, Home Depot and Lowes. There were several colors from Cap-A-Thread that would have been close enough to the floor material I ordered. Cap-A-Thread recommends in their website not to cut thread noses and mentioned that they have two type of nose caps to fit different width of noses. After talking to several installers, they said that they usually do not like Floor & Decor because the people that work there do not have the expertise in installation, so they leave people hanging with products that do not work for them. Looking at the reviews in this site, it seems that that is the case. The product is beautiful. However, after going to other places like Lowes and Home Depot, I would have gotten it from them as well and both of them had price match and they said that I could return anything that I did not need. If you want a dependable place that is there for you with right customer service, I recommend not using Floor & Decor. If you still want to do business from Floor & Decor, I recommend going with an installer to make sure you choose the right parts. Do not trust Floor & Decor recommendations. Below, I am including pictures of the thread that they sent, the pictures of the stairs I showed them before I ordered the threads, the Cap-A-Thread that I was originally requesting and colors that would have been close match to my floor. I try to get there early before a lot is taken. Staff is great and so is the variety of items in the store. Also, LOVE the rewards program they have as well. Great way to save even more money. Only thing I will say is they need a check out line sign that says "line starts here" because it's confusing if you have one side with people and the other side with another line. Some people I've seen wait in the very middle where you'd think it would start and then people end up cutting in line and no one ever says anything. That's the only thing I will say should happen...a "line starts here" sign in the middle. That way everyone gets in line and knows exactly where to go. Overall store and staff are excellent. Give a 4 out of 5 star rating only because of the line issue at checkout. Without that I would give it a 5 out of 5.

In general the amount of 3-5 dollar games that they are trying to pass off as 15 - 20 dollar games is dis gracefully disgusting. The point of traveling to these stores are to get the good deals. All of the inventory they have are traded in for or donated so it makes NO sense! It seems that the employees make guesses when it comes to prices, that or they are being told to overprice by upper management. By the gaming section there was a sign that claimed that all of the consoles and equipment is tested beforehand by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" whatever that means. I got an Xbox One Kinect from them back in December, and worked normally. A couple days later I wanted to try using its mic functionality, was not functioning. So it was never fully tested by "gamers with over 30 years of experience" lol. The worst part is that they give you a 3 day warranty... it's not like people have kids, jobs, or other commitments I guess. The media (dvds and blu rays) were also overpriced per usual. Usually only by 5-10 bucks. My main discrepancy today was that I saw multiple dvds and blu rays with dirt and filth smattered on the covers. Your telling me that they have the audacity to up charge, and still refuse to even spend 10 seconds wiping the cover with a lysol wipe? Is it that hard to do? Disgusting! I can't speak on their book pricing as I am not well versed but pretty much everything else is overpriced in this store. It really sucks because these type of stores are supposed to be for lower income families who can't buy new. And instead is being treated like a greedy gaming convention booth. I genuinely feel bad for kids nowadays who want to start growing a small gaming collection post pandemic. With greedy "thrift" stores like this, even the shovel ware games are off-limits.
