This was one of the first places we saw, and as soon as we spotted a Spiderman blow up riding on a dinosaur inside, we knew we had to check this place out. The Inner Geek is great for all ages, and has all kinds of stuff to go through. They seem to primarily be about books/comics, but you can also find action figures, Funko Pops and trading cards here too! Everyone here is really nice... Love this store!

She said whatever 3 I checked, they would send me a free issue. I assumed they did that to try to get you to subscribe obviously. What she failed to tell me, that by doing this, she actually subscribed me to all of the magazines checked. She never mentioned anything about that or that I would be billed for anything. A month later, my debit card got billed for all 3 subscriptions. It also overdrew my account because I wasn't expecting any unauthorized charges to come out of my account. I was livid. I called and talked to the manager and she could care less. Her "professional answer" was we will look into different ways of how we do marketing. I could care less what you look into, I want to know how my debit card signature counted as a subscription contract without any knowledge. And the fact they weren't eager to offer any solution speaks volumes of this place. I had to call a third party company to cancel. I never got refunded for the subscription or the 3 over draft fees that happened when they ran my account short.

There was a good selection of new hardbacks available. In the back, there is a discount selection. I loaded up on three books from there. In fact, South Charleston itself is a delight with all sorts of quirky little businesses and historical sights. The service by real book enthusiasts is endlessly gracious, and the various discounts (particularly for the overnight guests who have a full run of the place from 6 PM til 10 AM) are of real value. Just across the street is a reasonably breakfast and lunch place where EVERYTHING is homemade and run to support a local charity.

The three employees (including the manager) are very helpful and are willing to help you get to a reasonable payout if you're trading and price when you're buying. The store has a good amount of inventory at hard to beat prices. My problems start with the owner. To explain this best I have been trading in things here for a while now trying to declutter my house for my mental health. I didn't want to just give it away nor have the space to do a yard sale, so I go to page 3 to get at least a little for what is usually a lot. Last time I came, the owner (who basically does all trade ins if he is there) was there and looked through my stuff, as he is done and says there is not much he is interested in (fair) he said he would do a couple dollars for the things he picked out (once again fair) but as he looks through my discs he hits them against a glass case which is not good for either the glass case or discs. Note he did not buy the discs,they were not his, I asked politely please do not hit my things against the table, he said he did not and I didn't think more of it. Then I asked for help looking for a game and he said if it's not on the shelf we don't have it, I tried to explain my eyesight wasn't the best that day and may need help, which was absolutely shrugged off. After that (yes there is more) I picked up a few games and asked if I could trade the two games for the two items I had and asked how much the sports games were, I asked the question about the two games and was shot down immediately then asked about one and was shot down again,not even told how much it would be after my trade credit was applied which wasn't even told to me at the time. Then I asked about the sports games, and he once again hit the games against the counter and said $10 which isn't terrible but I felt disrespected and when he went to another customer I grabbed my stuff including what I had intended on trading and left the premises. I think I was treated this way because I haven't used cash in a while and have only used trade credit to get my items which is unacceptable when the store only gets merchandise FROM trades and it is a tough time to use cash and after I had shopped from this store for YEARS. I still plan to shop at this store for the atmosphere and assortment of pop culture items and video games but I do not recommend dealing with the owne
