As of 12/01/2013.This is a new management co (UMH) to our park in addition to 2 other mobile home parks now locally owned by UMH for a total of 3 mobile home parks. Things were good at first, then all hell has broke loose! The former community manager of many yrs. was "let go" march 16,2015. The now "newly named acting community manager", is a young insolent snotty brat whom is drunk with power after being named "acting community manager". Some of us at these 3 parks are of low-income status, we were allowed us to stay with new lease approvals since the takeover of 12/2013 by UMH. There is/has been an abundance of favoritisms toward "CERTAIN RESIDENTS" from UMH. In April of 2015 there was a drug bust for a meth lab among other things by police/DEA in The Olmsted Falls mobile Home Park,this management.co UMH has suffered NO CONSEQUENCES as a result of the drug bust,continues to own this "METH-LAB" and the structure still stands as of today 05/12/15. UMH is going onto all 3 properties here in Ohio,taking photos, issuing letters for power washing, painting, etc.to be completed by certain dates with the threat of legal action if not compliant.( I personally have not received this type of letter from UMH) some were deserving, but NOT ALL !!!!!.There are several "favorite residents" of UMH, not being cited, allowed to stack items up & around their homes for "scrapping" for $$$$$, running businesses out of the homes among other issues of "FAVORITISM". Some residents have tried to band together to "fight" against the "favoritism" to no avail, They r "BIG GUYS" w/money!!!!! Its easy to say "u don't like it, leave" we own these trailers, lease the property the trailer sits on and have to sell in order to "get out". Management UMH has no intention of keeping any of the existing mobile homes they are/will be slated for demolition to install the "new homes" at the sites, are bombarding "certain residents" whom would like to sell with "letters requiring inspections/repairs to sell their homes. We are required to notify management of intent to sell. With required notice to management and the potential to list/sell has began a series of letters of what UMH terms "necessary inspections/repairs" b4 they will allow the homes to b listed for sale. While "certain favorites" are permitted to display "for sale by owner/realtor listed" signs. I have talked to these "certain favorite" residents, confirmed "NO INSPECTION/REPAIR WAS REQUIRED" before "for sale by owner/realty" signs were displayed.these "certain favorites" do not have a problem BOASTING those facts and How "good UMH is to them" To get them to admit that legally, backing up what they are saying to help the "little people" forget it. We have contacted various organizations whom r "allegedly" there to help the little person, forget that too!!. We are told in essence "THERES NOTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU", So UMH continues to "screw" the little people with no consequences and use "certain tactics, as "CONTROL WITH FEAR OF BECOMING HOMELESS TACTICS." Some of us are of low-income status, it was easier to buy a mobile home than rent, lot fees, utilities were 200$.-300$. less than rent anywhere at the time. UMH is now trying to push the "LOW INCOME" and the "certain" residents they dislike out of their parks and NO ONE CARES ENOUGH TO HELP US. I personally have lived @1 of the three parks for the past ten years and have watched it all, the "BIG GUY" wins due to the $$$$ factor. The past and present managements have boldly lied in the courts after taking the right handed oath to "swear to tell the truth and nothing but" The lies will come forward on "JUDGEMENT DAY" and there will be consequences to pay as a result!!!. I would like to "leave this "HELL HOLE" as much as they want me to leave. I am 60 yrs. old also of the low-income status and UMH is requiring what they term as "inspection/necessary repairs" on my mobile home before I try to sell. They're going to demolish and replace it with "brand new" anyway!! Y should have to do anything at all!,I just want them off my back! I have no place to go presently, actively seeking other living arrangements, they know that and are making it difficult for me to stay, have already barred me from the ability to get another place with a bad reference. To my knowledge my residential file does not reflect any major issues since the beginning of my residence 03/2004. I don't get it,tried seeking legal assistance and talking with UMH, there just isn't any legal help/advice available to me, so I am continuously told, even though I am legally termed " A SENIOR". I am speaking on behalf of some of the other residents here (some are single mothers w/children) and some for myself as a 10 yr. resident. I just wish to move on @ the end of my lease 11/2015 or before and not be badgered my remaining time. THEY SUCK and I have no problem telling anyone!!!!! read more
