After I wrote my review, instead of addressing my concerns, Kim demanded that I take down the review and she terminated her services and provided referrals, which I thanked her for. Next, the former BIA gets involved and claims I'm "harming" the children if I don't take down the review in order for Kim to agree to continue therapy with the children. Her office manager emails with the same threats. I thought she quit, but apparently, she changed her mind and didn't say so herself. There are many excellent child therapists in the area. I'm not sure why the children will be "harmed" unless they specifically see Kim. The whole thing feels unprofessional and shady. If Kim was above board, I think she would have addressed my concerns and been willing to provide billing statements and session notes, as I requested. I'm talking to other abuse victims in the same situation, where the facts just didn't matter. I didn't do any of the things my ex did. I didn't send him long text rants full of hatred and rage. I'm not the one who owns a dozen guns, including an AR-15, kept wrapped in towels under a sofa until the BIA intervened. I never abused the children or the dogs. I wasn't the one who grabbed our daughter and left bruises on her stomach or shoved the kids to the ground or grabbed, shook and squeezed our son's head so hard he wet his pants. I wasn't the one who let the beloved family dog suffer in agony until it died days later from lung cancer and then refused to let him say a last goodbye to the dog or let the children call him to share their grief. I didn't perjure myself to get a protective order against him, then demand he approach my car or come to my house alone after claiming I feared for my safety. I didn't have my boyfriend spend the night, have the kids overhear us having sex, then leave it for the kids to tell me. I'm not the one isolates the kids and prohibits our daughter from having her cell phone to call me or her friends. I'm not the one who won't let them call him or him call them or physically restrained them from going to him. I'm not the one who travels out of town and leaves them for other people to care for them. I'm not the one who had my boyfriend move in and the kids have to watch as the boyfriend uses his things. I wouldn't do that to them or to him. I'm not the one who demeans him to them or tells them I'm going to have him thrown in jail if they resist going with me. I'm not the one who puts them down, talks to them like they are trash until they cry and feel worthless. I did none of those cruel and abusive things that he did to the children. Kim knew or should have known. My ex recently wrote me an email saying Kim advised not bringing up the girlfriend moving in with the kids and to minimize it if they brought it up. He injured his back and needs assistance, but that doesn't mean the kids don't have feelings about it that they need to work out. Isn't that the point of therapy? Even on this, Kim discourages them from talking. They are sweet kids who try to maintain a positive attitude, but they really have been through a lot and they have anxiety and PTSD. I've talked to other therapists and this is NOT how they would handle matters. How can one even trust a therapist who would go to CPS to claim her clients are lying when she's a mandatory reporter? My ex, his attorney and Kim are probably going to say I was interfering with therapy and therefore "harming" my kids (as if Kim is the only therapist in the area) and he needs to have full custody or I need to be gag ordered so no one will know what they did. Doesn't matter that I didn't do any of the things above and am in fact, a good, fit, primary caretaker mom who the kids trust and love. They are going to use my telling the truth against me while disregarding all the things he did. Does any of this make sense to you? Just the custody battle cost us $500,000 and I'm sharing custody with an abusive, previously uninvolved man who hasn't even paid any child support. Now does it make sense? People need to know the truth about what is happening in family courts. I'm grateful for all the honest reviews other women left, which helped me say no to another "professional" who was recommended to my case. I'm taking this risk because I don't want anyone to go through what my children and I went through. Good fathers are respectful and supportive of the mothers of their children and do what's best for the children. They take responsibility and don't abuse and estrange the kids, then claim parental alienation to get custody of kids who naturally don't trust them and dislike being with them for good reason. They pay child support, not legal fees. But that wouldn't be lucrative for the professionals, would it? The ones in my case really did a disservice for us all, including their father. They cost him a real relationship with his kids, but did a great job lining their own pockets. read more

Kim Wells accused me of parental alienation (P.A.). Turns out that P.A. is a nonsensical and irresponsible pseudoscience recognized only by family court "experts" who have a financial incentive to promote it. The APA has rejected it and just last week, so did the WHO. There's no evidence based research to support it. It's a twisted and sadistic concept where reporting abuse is used to justify custody recommendations in favor of the abuser. P.A. experts are unable to provide any examples of signs of abuse that might explain why a child has rejected a parent, thereby precluding any possibility of abuse. Because of these unethical "experts", abuse has magically vanished and all women and children are all now lying for custody reasons, not because they just want help getting the abuser to stop. Nor can these "experts" explain why, if not having contact with one parent is "abuse", it's not abuse when a "expert" recommends cutting off contact with the other parent? So why does this pseudoscience have such a hold over family courts? P.A. is a huge money maker. It's used to prolong conflict by pitting the parents against each other to and to fix custody cases. That's the short of it. In my case, Kim did nothing to try to improve the relationship between my ex and our kids. My ex continues to be abusive and controlling. Why not? Kim rewarded him for it. Towards the end, Kim didn't even try to keep up the pretense of providing therapy. She basically told my kids to shut up and she had them play cards with each other. My daughter left therapy crying once after Kim told her if she acted happy, she'd actually start feeling happy. Wow. If it's that easy, why even go to therapy? My experience with Wells is that she is evasive, disregards actual abusive behavior and poor parenting, and is not trustworthy. My ex is the one who engages in alienating behavior (denigrates me to kids, threatens kids they shouldn't be with me at all --even on Mother's Day, violates court orders regarding phone access and more, but Kim said it didn't count if it backfired. Instead, she falsely accused me of parental alienation after he estranged the kids on his own. She totally disregarded a series of troubling behavior by him that would estrange any child as the natural, likely and direct cause of why the kids didn't want to be with him. By my ex's own admission, Wells even discouraged the kids from talking about his behavior and how it affected them. What's the point of therapy if kids can't even talk about major life changes in order to work out their feelings? Seems like she was acting in the capacity of a reunification therapist for my ex, not as the childrens' therapist, which was what she was suppose to be . There are better therapists out there who actually listen and help in a constructive way. Wish I hadn't relied on Kim when she told me she was trauma informed.
