Afterwards, the owner did finally connect and explained she had been ill since the inspection was done. While I'm sympathetic to life being out of our control sometimes, the business should have someone to at least take over communication if the owner is out. I would've been fine with the delay if I had been notified, and could've relayed this to my insurance company instead of dodging their calls. I WAS THEN ASKED TO REMOVE MY REVIEW before they would send my inspection report. Truly unprofessional. Actual text messages from the business (I was working so was unable to respond): "4:57PM The review is still there!? 4:57PM I'm getting ready to send inspection but need the review taken down! 5:13PM ?? 5:55 PM Need spelling of last name and full address to send it over now!! (THIS INFORMATION HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED) 7:00 PM Good evening. I need the info and the review taken care of so I can send this along this evening and get you taken care of please." I took the review down to get my report, and after I updated the owner, they said I'd have the report in an hour or so. Didn't receive the report for another six hours though they claimed they sent it hours earlier. Maybe this business has been great before, and will be great again, but because I specifically chose this company based on their reviews, I had to provide an account of my experience.

Very nice job. Tom Mullen, the owner, is really on top of it all. He had some issues with employees…read moreusing drugs, but he stepped up to the plate, fired the users, and completed the job himself in very bad weather. Our roof looks beautiful and doesn't leak. Tom custom-crafted a gutter over our garden window, where we had a major problem with rain hitting it and making so much noise that we couldn't hear ourselves think! Now, no noise at all. Tom told us he would do his best, but was reluctant to guarantee the performance of the gutter, as it was an add-on to the house. Not to worry...it's PERFECT. Such nice people, such a good job...and our house was a very difficult job, given the roof height and the multiple gables. A great job overall. Would definitely recommend Black Ox!

It had been several years (5 I believe) since I had used them and thought to give them another try. Met with Phillip to go over some work we were hoping to have completed, he told me they were interested in the job and he would get back to me with a quote. It has been two months since I've heard from them and they have completely avoided my calls and not returned a single one or responded in any way to multiple voicemails. I completely understand being busy and or not being able to fit a job into your schedule, however relaying that info on to your customers so they aren't wasting time should be a priority to any company with halfway decent customer service. 10/10 would not recommend.
