Take advantage of grieving ppl. I went for a quote and salesperson said i can leave a deposit of $100 even though I said I have to discuss it with my mother who is the rightful owner of the plot. This then became $200. I naively left this deposit & said I will discuss it with my mother. This quote was by far the most expensive I received and when I called to cancel because it was too expensive I was advised to "get something cheaper & be truthful to me." I do not need to explain why I'm cancelling & under Australian Consumer Law I am entitled to my deposit back in spite of your caveat that there is no refund of deposits - it is also illegal to sell goods and services to someone who is not actually the legal owner.. my mother hadn't signed; therefore your "contract" is null & void...this reminds me of the thievery in Greece whereby strangers could sell your property without you even knowing with no legal recourse...to take advantage of someone in their time of grief is the lowest of the low... read more
