Biggest showroom for tiles, well displayed and well spaced. Lots of roaming room, seating and tables to rest, contemplate and plan for two or groups of 8. They have couches to nap on, complementary coffee area to refresh with, sale staff checking in on your progress. I'm always impressed how they keep a very current selection of on trend designs and materials and how easy it is to browse here. Everything is laid out on a wall nothing on the floor to dig through, it feels like walking through a tile museum! Came on a few Sunday's first thing in morning and been here on a weekday afternoon and to the pick up side, so it's safe to say I'm seen what business is like here. Full staff are on site on a Sunday from ordering to show sales help to warehouse which is impressive as they get a lot of traffic from buying to browsing. Note: you are glitzed on the showroom side to front order desk, but get to the sample side counter at the back, the sparkle starts to dull if you make your way back to the clearance side or shipping warehouse, it smells like dirt and warehouse and looks dated and feels dusty. The waiting room is really tiny at pick up, with worn in chairs from the 80's, but it's because it's 90% contractors dressed in dirty work attire so I look like a lost tourist waiting for my skid to arrive. I found service is best Sunday am, the patience and service dips by late afternoon. On a weekday, it seems they are less staffed and harder to get help as everyone is on the phone or hiding as someone else commented. Pricing: very comparable to big box stores, with contractor discount it's gets better. Selection: I've been to many many places and they have it all here. If you don't see it, it's either not on trend or you're too ahead a trend lol. Ie. Looking for pebble tile floor, they had 2 kinds, but dozens of hexagonal tiles and sizes which was the houzz favourite. Heavily staffed warehouse but worst customer service, the store is extremely mismanaged. Staff laughed when we waited over a hour for our order, and even after a long wait. The order was not correct. The number of orders I've had that I've been incorrect, you couldn't count on one hand. They need a massive management overhaul at this store. read more

Tip: Signage for this place isn't the best, but it's across the street from Wendy's. Meh. The photos here are deceiving because they look much, much nicer than IRL. When you actually go there, selection isn't that great...unless you like basic white, gray, &/or beige OR tiles that look like they're from a '90s bathroom. In comparison to other tile places that I've been to - and I've been to A LOT - the quality here isn't the nicest, e.g. looks like marble/porcelain, but it's actually a pattern printed on ceramic tile. "Clearance" section was actually MORE EXPENSIVE than stuff in the regular showroom. Not sure why that is. Prices are low because merchandise isn't that high-end. read more

Olympia is big, has a vast selection across a range of prices, has great service, and has been in the industry for a very very long time. Whether you're looking to simply spruce up a bathroom, or build the kitchen of your dreams, this place has a boggling amount of selection. Everything is available here. Porcelain, ceramic, marble, they have it all. I've used their porcelain tiles several times and find it to be of very high quality. It's tough and has lasted years for me. The environment is in the store is very nice too. Very relaxed, with no sales pressure. If you're in the market for tiles, you should at least drop by because they run circles around Home Depots tile selection. read more

HUGE selection! I came here on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. With that said, this is an amazing establishment. The showroom is open on a Sunday, which is very rare. The showroom was fully staffed with sales clerks available to help. The environment was relaxed with complementary coffee stations and friendly staff. The selection is so HUGE, you are guarantee to find what you are looking for. They also have a sample counter where you can leave a deposit and take home sample tiles to review before purchasing. read more

HUMONGOUS!!!! This place is like few Costcos put together. Lots of parking spots. Spent half an hour trying to find the section we were looking for and hours shopping there. Many departments, many staff (but it was difficult to find someone available to speak to). There are also meeting areas and lots of seating in case you need a place to sit down and rest or go through your options. There is even a (free) coffee machine and area. You can take a pic of the display and then get a sample from the Samples department. You might need to put in a deposit for some samples though. Samples must be returned within 4 weeks. They are open on Sundays, but not Saturdays. read more

A mega warehouse with a lot of popular tile choices from all ranges of materials. When we went into the large showroom, there weren't any lines or capacity limits and thus the place was quite full of other customers wandering around looking for the tile that they can bring home to fill their space. read more

Olympia Tile is like a shrine to all things ceramic. Tiles are displayed throughout the store proudly shining under florescent lights and planting seeds for future reno projects. Sigh. If only I had any design sense. What I love about this store is how easy it is to navigate. It has, supposedly, the largest selection of tiles in North America (according to Toronto Life), but it doesn't feel overwhelmingly big. Tiles are grouped together by type (transparent glass, opaque glass, tumbled stone, wood-lookalike, etc.) so you can walk around and imagine each in your home. Imagine a paint store where different swatches of wall were painted with different colours. It's kind of like that. But with tiles. The people who work there are friendly and helpful - if a bit harried by the high volume of people trying to get their attention. You might have to wait a while to get your number called when picking up your tiles behind the store at the loading dock, but once they do, there are smiley guys there to help you load your car. Two thumbs up for this place. Reasonable prices, too. read more

This place looks unbelievable. I first heard of this place while reading a blog on the top 5 places to buy tile. Then I asked a co-worker and she recommended Olympia Tile as well. They have the clearance section next door, downstairs (be sure to ask one of the staff on where to find it). I have found some amazing deals there for tiles and the tiles were beautiful too. 13x13 $1.19/sqft for porcelain floor tile + $1.29/sq ft for backsplash. Fantastic. Avoid this place if you can. They were great 10 years ago, but obviously something has happened with their management. The service cannot be worse. Everyone takes a minimalist approach and transfer to other service people fro every step of the transaction. Worse: they say you can return samples. When I tried, I waited more than an hour to return a sample, which required that some paperwork be first processed, then I had to go to a cashier. When I told the cashier (after a 15 minute wait again) that the transaction didn't go through (on the mobile machine), she claimed it had and sent me off. The transaction never appeared. Called twice and they simply rejected the claim. That is only the worse of the service I received there. They have a good selection, but brace yourselves for the awful customer service. read more

The first time I came here, I was completely overwhelmed with all the tile choices they offered. You can easily spend a few hours here checking out tiles for walls, backsplashes, etc. Overall, they do leave you alone to your own devices to browse and figure out what you want. What I love is the fact that the samples they have in the showroom are big enough to get an idea/feel of what you are looking at - they also have a very informative sticker on each one, stating the style number, the color shade, finish, approx price per sq ft, as well as the options the tile comes in. They are pretty pricey, but if you are working with a contractor, best ask if they have an account, because if they do - there is a good chance they will get a discount - so ask your GC to order the tile for you. Their sample desk is pretty helpful and you have 4 weeks to return any sample tiles you want to take home to test and see. Just walk over to the desk and give them the style number you are looking for. read more

The number one thing these guys have going for them is selection. I've been to many tile retailers over the years, and the availability of different types and varieties of tile here is pretty astounding. That said, service is not satisfactory. It was difficult to get anyone's attention, and was almost as if they were doing you a favor by helping you out. It was pretty busy as well, so under-staffed is also an appropriate descriptor here. However if you're out looking for ideas, this would be a good place to do some window-shopping. Tile-on! read more

I went here on a Friday afternoon after lunch and I have to say I was not impressed. The place screamed "go away" after all the staff were hidden behind their desks in the commercial area eating their pizzas. Ya they had ok selection, but service, well there was none. We tried asking for help but the guy eating his pizza was less than enthusiastic. I expected to see tiles with various prices, but found all the tiles I was looking at to be $6+/sq ft. more than I wanted to spend. They had some nice tiles, but prices too high and the hours for this place is terrible. Not open on Saturdays and 11-3:45 on Sunday, weekdays til 4:30-5 pm most days... ya I don't know if they want people to come with those hours. I will not be coming back here when I do my bathroom renos. I would not recommend this place either. Luckily there are better and less expensive places in town. read more

Buyer beware!!!! We changed our mind about tiling our backsplash so returned the tiles within a few days of purchase in original packaging -- never been touched. They charged me an acceptance fee of 25% of the purchase cost to return the tiles I had purchased (all still in the box untouched). However they don't tell you this when you're buying !! Amazing selection and super helpful staff! We came one day to the showroom and had so many options. The staff were super friendly and helped us get some samples. Once decided I talked to Ana and she helped get the order ready and did an amazing job and helped with the finishing edge choice. I had excess and was able to return it. When I questioned how I was being treated I was told to take my business elsewhere. When I spoke to someone else asking for a simple apology, she asked "from me"? Just the worst people with the worst service. Went in to Olympia slab to request a quote on a quartz counter. I was told they can not help me and I need to go away and find a fabricator and purchase through them. I asked for a recommendation for a fabricator and they refused to provide. Rude, ignorant, don't give these awful people your money. read more

bought their Milieu 18 x 36 tiles, some of the tiles are out of square, installer notice part way into job, after working away from a drain area, called company, they sent an email stating that after checking the product in their warehouse that the tile is defective. They will not return the product or compensate for the defective tile. NOT THEIR PROBLEM. find a company who will stand behind their products because Olympia tile doesn't. for the none believers ask them - how many claims they have paid for defective tile before handing over your hard earned money.
