Among 4 bids, we chose them since they had the best pricing and because the estimator Brandy (who was also working with another roofing company) highly recommended who had been a former general contractor that partnered with them. She was an honest, professional, and trustworthy communicator who was able to convince me over the other 3 bid from companies that other friends had referred. When we narrowed down to the final 2 bids with almost the same price, I let Brandy know if they could break the tie and came back with a $500 cut to win the bid (the other company felt their bid was already too low so didn't budge) Appreciating that they were willing to price beat another competitor and we went with them. Picking out the shingle color was last minute (few hours notice) when there was 2 weeks to get it taken care of but were able to change the order once we had time to communicate our color the next morning. They cleaned up all debris from the roof overall. The shingles got dropped off the day before. We didn't hear any complaints from the neighbors who verified all was cleaned up after the job. About 40 nails were left in our driveway post job that we had to clean up. I let the owner know know Saturday and they offered immediately to come by on the next business day Monday to clean up the nails. Since we were nervous about puncturing the neighbor's tires so we went ahead and bought a $30 magnet sweep to take care of it right away. Our deck roof awning got a minor hole and our cat's outdoor enclosure accidentally got hit with roofing that led to our cat escaping and a punctured paw from him climbing out where the structure was compromised--but thankfully the cat returned and paw healed in a day. We understand those accidents can happen so we don't hold that against them. To my knowledge, IPros wasn't aware it happened to give us a heads up as that's all we ask. If it wasn't for the estimator's professionalism, I may have not enjoyed the process along the way as it felt less professional in terms of communiciation. The owner offered to come and fix the roof awning who came the next business day to measure the hole after calling him. About a week later, with many follow-ups, the roof awning got fixed! If you want want a high, professional touch of communication in the process before, during or after, being handheld throughout the process in a timely fashion without any follow-up--it may not be for you. If you don't mind a more rough style and timing of communication in the process of the project, but will absolutely get the job done and is professional worksmanship-wise at a low price, then I'd recommend them.

I received what I hoped was a fair rate for the area since I'd just moved here, and he had good reviews. I also try to support local and thought he was a veteran. I was not in a rush to get the work done since it was early fall and very warm out and I also work from home so could be here. But it seems Jeff was since he had me immediately order the stain I wanted from the paint store, but he said when he got there it wasn't ready and he showed up at my place about 2:30pm with a 1/3 full 5 gallon bucket of what looked to be a nice color and he kept saying it was far superior to the stain I ordered so I did approve that bucket of paint on his word and good faith. Jeff said that I should have let him pressure wash the stairs, but why do that when I stated up front not necessary as it was part of the purchase of my home so why would I pay for it to be done a second time? The stairs were clean and dry when he arrived. He did not seem well prepared and was in a friends very new car with his spray equipment and materials in back, said his truck was broken down and I told him I was happy to wait since I didn't want him to rush. He insisted to get started but did not protect my front porch deck or the side entry walls and door, also my car which was right next to the stairs and could have easily been moved had he let me know. He then got heavy sealant overspray on my front porch deck, side entry walls and door and over half of my car which I had to take to get cleaned right away! He also applied such a heavy layer of the sealer on the side stairs they had puddles and weren't fully dry when he then tried to paint in the pouring down rain a couple of days later, also asked him not to paint while it was raining but he did. He was not neat and slopped the dark paint on the white porch rains, spilled it on the stone walkway and just left it, walked through the paint and tracked it around the side entry on the driveway. There are missed spots all over the entire project. And when he came back the 3rd day he claimed he had to go buy another gallon (3rd one) of the paint to complete the job, though not sure why since the original white bucket was a 3rd full at start and paint store said it shouldn't have taken more than what I noted he showed me, for which I also paid for but it turns out it was another can of leftover paint from someone else's project opened and partially used, and he tried to hide it from me, also tried to take it with him even though it was mine having paid for it. And here is the final kicker to all of this, not only the poor and sloppy/shoddy work but the paint and sealant were incompatible and there was so much oil coming up to the surface I slipped and fell managing to fracture my wrist in the fall. As the winter weather has brought much rain a lot of areas have literally washed away. Jeff kept saying he stands behind his work and he'd come back and "fix it" but why would I have him back, he broke the trust by the bad work he did? He ruined both of my entries and they will now have to have fully stripped and properly done at my expense. I have the photos documenting all of this and had 3 different contractors all look at what he did and 2 of them said I should pull his bond. Not going to do that but want you all to beware of bad work.

Moss remained on portions of the roof, a shingle was knocked loose, the roof treatment was insufficient, and the gutters were not cleaned as agreed. What disappointed me most was that there was no quality review or follow-up by management to confirm the work had been completed properly or to obtain my approval before considering the project finished. A-1 offered to return and redo the work. However, when a service falls this far short of the agreed scope, I believe either a different crew should be assigned or a refund should be offered. I was no longer comfortable having A-1 continue with the project. I hired another company to complete the same scope of work. They performed the work thoroughly and professionally. After seeing the condition of my roof, they commented that A-1 should not have charged me for work that was not completed. If you choose to hire A-1, I recommend requesting a thorough quality inspection at the conclusion of the job and providing final approval only after verifying that all work in the proposal has been completed. I also recommend questioning the requirement for a 50% down payment, as the company appears to have minimal upfront material costs for this type of service.

My wife and I are disabled, Bowers Construction does not care about providing ADA access…read more Bowers Construction, installed a leaky window that resulted in flooding our floor, they left it over the weekend. When I raised this issue, Jeff Bowers suggested placing a turbo fan in our home, which would have lowered the dew point causing condensation. It would have brought the temp down to an uncomfortable level for us and our dogs and the the stress from the noise wasnt their concern, and all without providing any dehumidifier to properly address the moisture issue. Bowers construction also covered the exhaust vents on our building overheating our dryer. Then they installed an insecure door in our unit that I could easily slide my hand through the gap in the door frame or through a hole covered with blue painter's tape because their locksmith couldn't install our door knob. I had to take matters into my own hands and fix the door myself. Which now works properly but because of a misdrilled hole I have a brand new door with a hole. I have a brand new slider with a crack in the casing and they forgot my screen door even though every other door has one. Bowers Construction also killed the power on the exterior of our complex and left for the night leaving the courtyard under our window pitch black at night with ladders laying around on the ground for transients. Walter disregarded my reports for a couple weeks before getting it fixed. They just don't care. Integrity was selected as John were clearly the best in the quoting process!…read more He used a drone to give us a visual of the entire roof, and then was the only one of 5 potential vendors to climb up in the attic to look from underneath the roof, as well as look up into a crawlspace, thoroughly explaining why Malarkey was the best shingle, and the Integrity advantages in process and warranties that are significantly better than other companies. He also worked with us when the total price was higher when we included new gutters, getting us to the price we wanted to see late on a Friday afternoon to effect a quick smooth contract signature process. Integrity was able to provide turnkey services that included a skylight replacement, some painting\caulking of gable boards before the new gutters were installed, replaced a lot more roof boards than expected due to venting issues we were unaware of, and had all Integrity employees in company trucks, except for the gutters, which John had identified as subs that were also very professional and fast. Bella was also excellent in coordinating our requested timeframe due to visitors. Alex then took over as the Project Manager with excellent communications on the process and updates throughout the project that went amazingly fast, with Jose's professional\courteous crew knocking it off in just 2 days by working late when was expected so we didn't have to worry about wet boards\leaks under our underlayment\new shingles. Jose also communicated really well, accommodated our cars needing to get in\out and his crew installed a lot of new boards that weren't expected due to an unknown venting issue. Alex effectively communicated what Jose was seeing, but they just didn't do the many additional board replacements in the short timeframe through their hard work, but had the knowledge and expertise to fix the root venting issue, by adding bird block vents to enhance the ventilation to prevent future issues. This experience reinforced our confidence that selecting Integrity as clearly the best company through their literature, significantly warranties and we have the confidence they will be around if we had any warranty issues, where most of the other options were either further away or smaller operations that who-knows if they would be there in the long future. The only thing that did not go perfectly was that despite originally covering our plants as the old roof was removed and doing a great job on clean-up, two of our boxwoods had something come down on them that severely browned one and created an unsightly patch on another , which was never explained. The contract noted this as a risk, that Integrity was not responsible for, but it seemed that either covering them longer during the process or avoiding whatever was sprayed or fell on them, would have stopped the problem. However, we were so pleased with the overall job, top quality work and materials used, if that was the worst thing that happened on this large job, we were still very happy and fully recommend Integrity!
