I recently had my first in Phoenix on vacation and loved it. Put that in my notes for the appt. Got there at 7:30 and had to wait. Was asked if I was the appt. I said yes - barber doesn't do straight razor and I can cancel and reschedule. Since I had taken time out of my day just a cut. 35 dollars for the basic buzzed deputy army cut..I asked not to much off the top and no skin on the sides. Got skin on the sides and look balding up top because it's basically a buzz cut like military. Yeah I won't be back. Barbers in DM are not what they could be. 60 bucks cash in phoneix for a straight razor shave, haircut, hair wash, hot towel facial, the Ortiz special was legit a great experience.. back to great clips in Iowa - scissors and scotch was not for me either

His sister Annie does her "salon" for women in the back half of the tiny building, but also helps out Mike when she's not busy. Quality cuts, conversation, very family-oriented, and interested in keeping up with their customers on a personal basis. Cash only; the old school way. Every kid should grow up going to a barber shop like this.

Recommended to me, I decided to give this place a try due to its price and proximity to my home. It did not disappoint. Truc is my barber and she has always done a fantastic job. I get a simple taper cut but I'm positive she's great at other styles as well. To top it off, she ends each cut with a neck shave and hot towel. She has even gone above and beyond for me when I had a scheduling conflict. You'll need to schedule an appointment ahead of time for availability. And they do offer other services as well. Don't waste your time! Stopped by on three separate occasions and two of the times he was "closing…read moreearly" or "out for lunch" past the 12-1 lunch posted on the door. Called multiple times and the only time he answered he was "too booked up and to call back the next day". Proceeded to call a half a dozen more times over the next three days and never answered. Finally caught him when he was actually there and again and he said he was "all booked up" and to call back tomorrow on Friday. Told him I had been calling and no one was answering. He shrugged his shoulders and then said check back in next Tuesday. Awfully busy man for someone who's never there and parking lot is empty. Not customer service friendly or interested in new loyal customers.
