After not finding what I needed at other banks I decided to stop in and see what Fifth Third had to…read moreoffer and I was not disappointed. The location has a drive thru, ATM, and a lobby. The bank is not a stand alone building but a part of a modern, multiuse facility. There were spots for 2-3 tellers inside and two offices for loans, accounts, and business banking. As a chain, they have branches and ATMs all over the United States which is a positive for people who live, travel, and work in multiple states. I was greeted quickly when I walked in by the teller and the branch manager. After telling them what I needed I worked with Grace, their personal banker, to set up a new account. She went over all the options for different accounts, had literature prepared I could take with me, and answered all my questions. She was organized, professional, efficient, extremely personable, and polite. It took less than 20 minutes to get everything set up. I was able to make my first deposit the same day I opened my account, set up direct deposit, and was on my way with a smile on my face from a great experience. Overall they made a great first impression on me and I look forward to being their customer in the future. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a bank in NE Indiana.

My husband had passed away in May of this year and this bank has made it so hard for me to pay my bills online. We had a joint account they stopped me from using Bill pay Because he was the one who setup bill pay with his login. I as the joint account holder cant access any information including our bills. luckily I had payed a couple of bills from my login. otherwise I wouldn't have had those. They inform me it's because of security reason. He is no longer with me. I was able to see before everything that went in and out of are account. now only things that I've use my debit card for that account. There is no reason I should have to go up the main branch and even see if I can get a bill that was already added to (MY ACCOUNT) on my account. literally No one that has lost their spouse should have to worry about having to pay their bills on top of dealing with losing the love of their life. NO One !!!!! They really need to consider their customer and what they are all really going through. He wasn't a friend he wasn't a boyfriend. He was and will always be my Husband. Sturgis Bank and Trust care and consider your Customers especially those that have been with you for so long.

The problem I have is none of my paperwork was faxed to the branch in which I was to pick up my debit card, so I had to wait for that first off. Secondly they didn't have me sign my beneficiary papers so I did that at the branch where I was waiting on my card. And thirdly I wasn't ever provided with a number to access my online banking and now my debit card doesn't work. This is very unprofessional and shows me that this isn't the bank for me. If they can't do any better than that right from the beginning how is going to be down the road? I won't be there to find out, I'll be going to get a cashier's check for my balance from them and taking my business to the credit union.

I stopped using them and moved my money to a credit union recently. I had been with Fifth-Third for…read moreat least 20 years. There are many reasons I left, but here are the top ones: 1) Fifth Third is pulling out of small towns in SW Michigan, leaving only an ATM behind, if that. 2) At the branches I use, there's constant turnover of the tellers. To me, that means they're not paid or treated very well. 3) Corporate spends LOTS of $$ on political lobbying in Washington and Lansing. Also contributes mostly to candidates from one political party. So I booked an appointment in the Novi branch. Am I glad I did. Staff at the Novi branch were so much friendlier and more helpful. I couldn't tell you hope many people stopped by and asked if we've been helped, then followed up assuring us that our rep would be available shortly. Milan was patient and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. He also helped us determine which account type would best meet our needs.
