When I let the staff know they had made the wrong juice, I was treated with hostility, accused of being rude for simply clarifying my order, and banned from a store I had loyally supported all week. An older blonde woman - who I've ironically seen be unpleasant with customers all week - was irritated the moment I questioned the order. She snapped at me for inspecting it. When I explained how it red instead of green, she ordered me to taste it, then seemed annoyed when I told her it contained ingredients that weren't in what I had ordered. I tried to explain what I'd ordered and the substitution I'd made, but she and another brunette employee became increasingly hostile. As they all began bickering amongst themselves about what was in each juice on the menu, so I offered to write down my order to help - at which point the older blonde woman told me I was being rude and said to the other employees that she was "ready to fight me." Over kale and chard... at 9:30 a.m.? Her behavior was so disturbing I just walked away and sat down with my husband, mother, and my baby - all of whom had been watching all of this unfold in shock as we waited for the amended order. Then, while we were sitting quietly, she told me I was banned from the store. Both my husband and my mother - dumbfounded asked why clarifying a juice order warranted being banned. Her response? To my husband, she snapped, "What are you, the boyfriend?" and to my mother - who was with our baby - "I'm not speaking to you." And the manager? He didn't ask a single question or review video footage. He simply said he was going to stand by her wishes. The reality is, I'm just passing through. We were genuinely excited to stock up on some of the great products before heading home -- but now I'll just order everything online. And frankly, it's a shame. This kind of unnecessary hostility in customer service is exactly what drives people away from supporting small businesses.

This place is pretty cool…read more I like to try and make my own lip balms, salves, bath fizzies etc. At Herbwise I can find the essence oils and the base ingredients such as beeswax or EVCO (coconut oil). Also ingredients such as cinnamon and coriander and other herbs and spices. You help yourself and pour them into a bag, weigh it out and bring out up to the register and pay by the weight. I love it! No waste! They also sell the jars here needed to make my balms and salves. Living on Westerly for over 10 years, I must admit that parking downtown does scare me. There's never any spots. Although the handful of times I've decided to go to Herbwise I've gotten extremely lucky with parking right on front. I can't help you out here. I have no good tips or secrets for parking near here. I do know that right past the post office there is a small parking lot.

They have natural foods, supplements, lotions, soaps and more. When I go in it's usually for a specific product that I'm looking for. She usually has it, or some variation of it. I just paid them a visit the other day to get some kind of topical headache remedy. Tylenol just wasn't working for me and I can't take anything else. She had two different types and I went with the most herb-y one, it was pricy but aren't all natural stores and products? They validate your ticket for parking if you can't get a park on the street, which you usually can't. Customer service is always friendly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I had asked her to order a specific product for me and she would write it down saying that she would, she never did. Finally after checking back four separate times and her never having I gave up and just ordered it in bulk online. She could have just been honest and told me she didn't have intentions on ordering it in the first place and saved me the trip. Overall, this a good place.

I was hoping for something prepared to consider but I don't know if that would be a good model to add for this business. They might have a hard time finding help but it is nice to see a vegan store nestled near the Orient port area.

There is a gym down the road and some odd ball shops across the way in an old strip mall. But I got to tell you that once you are inside you will be very happy. The store is well organized and stocked with what an old school health food advocate would want. Lots of CBD products too, if that is what you are into. Produce is a bit sparse - it is not a farm stand - but I haven't really been in the shop during harvest season. I'm sure they have some good stuff. Anyway there are plenty of farm stands down the road a bit. The prices are exactly what you expect nowadays. No way around it. The staff is extremely helpful - as I think it is really a one person show operated by the owner. All good!
