We had a great experience. They guys where not moving very fast, but we had a set price and was not in a rush, so I was happy with that. I was more interested in my things being moved with care, which they where! They arrived on time, I showed them around and then they where good to go. Very polite and nice guys, we also had a guy coming over to give us an estimate before hand (the owner maybe?). They even managed to get our treadmill down the stairs, and that was no easy task. Incredible experience - from start to finish! This crew (Cody and Ron) did a fantastic job moving my parents furniture/boxes from their home in Tennessee to a condo in Michigan. They were professional and treated my parents treasures as if they were there own. Very patient and careful with making sure the set up was exactly where they wanted all of the items. If you care about your instruments, lamps or personal belongings, don't hire this company. If you do hire them, make sure you get the full replacement insurance. They destroyed a Martin guitar, heirlooms, lamps, lampshades, hats and more. They packed bras with shoes, a custom Kentucky Derby hat at the bottom of a large box of bedding, destroyed most of our lamp shades and scratched or broke most lamps and lost parts to our Veri-desk. One or two of the employees seemed to care and were competent, the rest had zero respect for us or our belongings. I was actually asked why we had "so much stuff?". 1) none of your business. 2) a very rude question. So many of our belongings were simply tossed into boxes with no wrapping at all. They also used a lot of old worn out boxes from other moves, even crappy U-haul boxes. The amount of damaged, one of a kind pieces of art was sickening. The same crew that packs, also loads and drives cross country. They are overworked and exhausted. This is the biggest contributor to the lack of care and incompetence. On top of all this, we wound up with a few of someone else's boxes. For all we lost and went through, we were compensated just more than $1,800.00. That didn't even cover the cost of the Martin Guitar. Save yourself from headache and heartache. Find another mover! read more

I chose this company because a friend had a great experience with them. I did not. Several items were left at my old address: parts of furniture, a painting, a television, and two carloads of other things. They left a window open and their trash strewn about. They did not reassemble all the furniture. They damaged a dresser, gas grill, and a nightstand. They damaged a specialized sewing table beyond repair. About 1/4 of boxes were left in wrong rooms. There is a reason they ask for a certified check. I would have stopped payment on a check. read more

After a disaster and unsettling experience with All My Sons Moving Company in 2016, I researched a couple of weeks before I decided on a moving company for our next move. After reading dozens of reviews, we selected On the Move, and glad we did. The owner, Don showed up at the scheduled time and walked through our home and gave us a quote. He was very kind and helpful. Our moving date changed a few times due to closing issues, but On the Move willingly worked with us. The day of the move, the crew showed up and worked diligently, even through lunch and got us packed and loaded. They were careful and efficient. Three days later, our new place was ready and they delivered our possessions and were just as efficient and careful unloading into our new home. Jamie's was the team lead and he was excellent. Impressively hard working crew! Arrived on time, and worked diligently until the job was done, near their point of exhaustion. In addition to the usual cohort of furniture etc., we had 5-6 dozen heavy book boxes, each taken up at least one (and often two) flights of stairs, in July heat. Yet the guys remained respectful and pleasant, far beyond what I could have mustered in their place. Ramps and trucks were managed ingeniously to roll or step items right out of the house onto the truck, then vice versa at our destination. Only a couple of minor damages occurred, far less than could be expected in the circumstances. My move date changed several times; On the Move changed with me, without complaint or apparent annoyance. Overall very pleased with the whole process, and the attitudes behind it. read more

I selected this vendor after reading recommendations on Nextdoor, and was not disappointed. Since my move involved driving several states away, I didn't consider vendors who did local moves only. But I didn't want to pay higher corporate rates, either. The movers wrapped all the furniture and no damage was sustained. In my case, the movers arrived Monday to load 1.5 medium sized trucks. They were scheduled to store it at their secure location (without unloading the trucks--very important) for delivery on Friday. (There were some complications which necessitated this delay.) I was very happy with the cost and service provided by On the Move. Be sure to ask for Don, the president. He is very thorough, and also flexible in his approach. read more

I helped my mother move house last week. The movers showed up a few minutes early, took inventory, and laid out padding in the hall to reduce wear to the floor. The lead was an affable man who laughed a lot and sang a bit. He put my mother at ease. Just before they closed up the truck, I had a look in. Everything was absolute chaos. Furniture was crooked on top of boxes, boxes were tossed on top of leaning furniture. When I move, I pack tightly and like a giant game of Tetris. There was apparently no thought into how the packing went here at all. The amount to move a 3 bedroom house with giant office and many outdoor items was about $3,500. The distance was roughly 5 hours away. The movers emptied the house in about 3.5 hours and packed it into the new house in about the same amount of time. The day before the move, a woman called to confirm information and collect payment in full. My mom had been told payment would be due at delivery. Some furniture was damaged. This happens when you move, but Don, the salesperson and owner, stated the furniture would be shrink wrapped, which none of them were. This would have saved drawers from popping out, damaging the metal guides, and kept the door on the antique wardrobe from flying open, which jerked the door from its hinges. In all, the damage was minimal, just could have been prevented if they had done what they promised to do. In all, I'm not compelled to recommend this particular franchise. read more

Beware! They damaged several pieces and tried to hide it, workers took approx. 10 breaks, scuffed walls, lights. Only Paid me $250 for my damages. I paid them $1440. For Saturday only and a local move. They dropped my sofa off the truck and it landed on the end and never said anything. I happened to come outside as it was bouncing on the driveway and saw it. When I asked the nice older man working for them, he didn't know anything about it and then approached the worker that did it. That worker then became very angry and started being rough with my furniture -Banging my empty filing cabinet around. When I got to the file cabinet, the lock was pushed in and the key broken off in it. They broke the leaf to my dining table then hid it in my garage in the middle of other things. This was a nightmare, I called the owner to discuss and even went to their office, so he could see me and know that I'm not some crazy person. I explained that I wanted to meet the owner so he could see that I am a rational person and discuss the events. His office staff was very nice but he was not there and has never called to apologize for his employees behavior. read more

If you're looking for a mover I do not recommend this company. The owner Don, showed up to our house. He assured us that his company packs and moves every little thing that you can imagine (minus your files and important things like that). He included that he moves your backyard swing sets and trampolines and stuff like that as well as taking your TV's and even framed pictures off the wall, we were sold. When his workers came they informed us that they did not do that. They also informed us that they did not take swing sets and trampolines apart. So I did it, knowing that we're running short on time to move. On moving day, him and his guys were leaving without taking a bunch of our stuff. I ran out to ask them if they were going to take it, and their main Foreman said no. After a long back and forth I had to take the rest of our stuff to our new house. It cost us more to move 40 miles with On The Move, in Tennessee, than it did from California to Tennessee. I called on a few times and he told me that he thinks that I misunderstood him during our meeting. If you choose this company I would record your every conversation with Dawn to make sure that he understands and you understand what the deal is. I don't want to go on too long here, I'm sparing you a lot of the details, but I would give this company zero Stars if I could. read more

I am not a serial mover. This is the first time I have ever hired someone to move my stuff, but my first move with my family. This said, I can't imagine how this experience could have gone better. The guys showed up on time, wrapped everything in blankets, loaded it quickly, then unloaded it quickly at the new house. All of this without damaging either house or my furniture. The jerk that was on my move tried to get me to sign a damage waiver before the even started moving my stuff, I argued for about 10 mins and he finally got started. Then while moving my grandmother's antique cherry dining table he flipped both of the table leafs out and put it on too of his head I stead of asking the other mover for help. He couldn't see where he was going and ran into things in the shop where it was being stored and broke one leg of the table completely and and another leg is cracked so bad that I can put anything on the table. The movers also left my house 10 Min before I did and I was at the apartment for 30 mins before they arrived. The bald guy couldn't even park the truck he almost ran over 2 cars, they spent 15 mins parking the truck. I was charged for an hour that they did nothing for me. I even called the office and spoke to Kayla many times because the bald headed mover was dragging the time out, she said that another mover was on the way, but he never showed up. Never use this company if you want your things to be taken care of. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We have moved several times in the last few years and this was by far the worst move ever. Luckily we knew to over insure since they damaged so many irreplaceable items! We were assured that they would pack the items on the truck one time to avoid damage but they didn't. They ran out of time packing so took the truck back to their warehouse and re-packed the truck and in the process didn't wrap several pieces! On top of that, when they finally arrived to our new home several states away, they broke an irreplaceable expensive bed frame while bringing it in the house. Their system of tagging items to keep from losing stuff didn't work, we lost 2 boxes and then it was a nightmare getting the insurance to settle the claim even though they acknowledged it was their fault. During all of this not one person apologized for poor service. Customer service goes a long way even if you screw up and they couldn't even handle that correctly. We have since told everyone we know to stay away from this mover! read more

We've moved several times and this was the worst moving company by far. To begin with, the movers arrived 1.5 hours late and never called. We had to call them to find out where they were. Then, it took them 4.5 hours to move a small 1 bedroom apartment 5 miles to our new home. Everything was already packed, so all they had to do was load the truck, drive to the new location, and then unload it. After they had been at the new location for about an hour, one of the two men asked us if we would pay him to come out to our home the next day to finish unloading everything. He said he was trying to save us money by not going through the company (On the Move). We declined his offer. We called his manager the next day and to our surprise, the manager blew us off and took the employees side who was trying to take business away from the company. Then to make matters worse, we found out that our damaged furniture claim had a $250 deductible. And of course, their damage assessment was less than that amount. All of their movers may not be like the two that we had, but we will never use them again. read more
