On the Wedge, with their various topping combinations at a reasonable price, is one of the best gourmet pizza shops I've enjoyed. It's easy to miss as it is in the mall food court area, but ordering online and on the phone is the same as any pizza joint. Just park in the mall parking lot and walk-in to a food hall type eatery for pickup. They keep your pizza in a warming oven to keep it warm, don't worry if you are a bit late to pickup. Order: - Moonpie, was a great veggie option - Voom Shroom, had lots of mushrooms and bacon, basically a Canadian pizza, but only the good stuff - garlic gingers, basically garlic bread but in the shape of a pizza cut into "fingers" Three 18" pizzas were enough to feed 8 people with leftovers. You also get a choice of dipping sauces, the Donair was a great choice. Looking forward to come again to get the Hula Pizza Pie, Pepperoni Paradigm, and the Caesar Chicken. Someone once mentioned Moonpie from On the Wedge was their favourite pizza, so of course as a pizza lover myself I had to try it. I'm not sure why I've never tried pizza from here before (actually it's probably because I don't live in or near Bedford) but... I'd happily drive there for a slice anytime now. I was sceptical because they said it was a veggie pizza... with pesto. Although I love pizza and love veggies, veggie pizza is not my favourite, and I'm not a big fan of pesto. However... I was too curious. Let me tell you, it was delicious! It's a white sauce pizza with mozza, cheddar, feta, tomatoes, spinach and garlic with pesto on top. I've also tried their Caesar chicken pizza... equally as delicious! A few other kinds have caught my eye, I'm hoping I can get there some day when they still have slices available! The location is in the Bedford mall food court, so there is a lot of seating available - and it's right by Pete's which is an added bonus! read more

While recently in Sunnyside Mall, home of fancy but quaint shops, I was feeling the pangs of having not yet eaten halfway through the day. I headed over to On the Wedge, the pizza purveyor which also doubles as a pizza-scented Glade plug-in for the whole mall. Seriously, the mall always smells like pizza, although that isn't a bad thing.  Things were picking up with the onset of the lunch crowd, so I quickly set my sights on a slice of the "carnivore" which comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon. I like that you can get your slice re-created in the oven instead of it sitting in a warming cabinet, which is the death of crispness. Sitting down at one of Sunnyside's schmancy wooden communal tables, I devoured my slice. The toppings were plentiful, and all the meat was of a noticeably better quality than the typical pizza joint. The thin crust was nice and crisp, and the cornicione was airy and nicely browned. Sauce coverage was good and had a hit of spiciness to it as well. And if that's not enough heat for you, they have a handful of hot sauces to burn your mouth as much as you desire.  On the Wedge fits right in with the elevated quality of the mall, and would be a welcome addition to other areas of the city. read more

Our "go-to" pizza place! Recently tried the pickle rick and gruffalo...HOLY! If you like dill pickle, I recommend the pickle rick. It was a bit salty at first, but then the flavors were intense. I'm also not one for pineapple on pizzas, but the gruffalo has changed my mind. SO GOOD! read more

Staff = amazing! Quantity = amazing! Quality = amazing! Service is amazing. I go there 3-4 times a week and get their pizzas and the salads. Kale greek salad is to die for. Every staff member is super nice and generous. You will not be dissatisfied with this place. If I could rate them a 10 I would. Must try the holiday pizza. Delicious! I've spent some time in the Sunnyside Mall food court. I usually opt for the Sushi or a sammy/ salad from Pete's. But yesterday, yesterday I was craving pure carb and cheese goodness. This place generally has a pretty good selection of pies to choose from. I went for the "Moon Pie" which was bianco (sans tomato sauce) with mozza cheese, tomato, spinach and pesto. The super friendly employee dude heated it up for me and gave me a little to go box and I was on my way. I took one bite into the delicious thin, corn meal coated crust and was sold. Holy eff word. I don't know how they do it but the pizza here is fantastic. it has a delicious dough crust, perfectly toasted toppings and no grease! the selection is inspired and the pizzas are never soggy. the moon pie and roasted rocket are fanatic, as well as the vroom shroom. for $5 a slice it's a great deal. it's semi gourmet pizza at take put prices. this is a favorite spot in sunnyside! read more

Pretty decent pies to be found at this little stand off to the side of Pete's Frootique in the Sunnyside Mall. Six or so regular features are premade for the lunch hour for easy to-go munching including multiple vegetarian options, each more exciting than your standard 'just cheese' or 'vegetable medley'. The Moon Pie, in particular, is a stand-out as most people will be happy to tell you! Staff are quick to let you know if a fresher slice is expected out of the oven soon, rather than serving an older one just to get rid of it, and most slices are tossed back in the oven for a quick reheat to make sure it's good and hot when it arrives on the paper plate. Good for them for keeping a commitment to quality! Occasionally the pizzas can be a bit on the doughy/chewy side, so thin-crust cravers may want to look elsewhere. read more

Okay here's the deal... you might have tasty pizzas but when I go there at 0425 on a Sunday to buy pizza for our supper (states open until 5pm) and there are only 3 pieces of meat pizza left and your staff member says" that's all we have" I'm very annoyed!! There is plenty of time to make another moon pie pizza. This is an arrogant way to run a business. Perhaps your hours should read open until 5pm or until we feel like stopping. read more

I really like the pizza here. Their sauce is delicious and the crust is always nice and crispy but not burnt (and possibly multigrain which is even more impressive!) You get a super big piece for 5 bucks too. Yum! read more

The pizza itself is very good and the options are very good. Check out their website to see the many delicious options they have on offer. I think the pizza is so good because of that parmesan crust they use. BUT I'm not sure they're run all that well. About 3 weeks ago I went in there on a Sunday hankering for their pie. I asked for a menu. The response from 1 of 2 bored-looking young women was, "Ok, but we don't have any dough for take out orders". : - O ...this is a re-enactment of my stunned face. Now, this is a problem. I wanted a pizza for the family. Very disappointing and perplexing. Has anyone been told this at a pizza joint?! And I wasn't given an apology. Now, I didn't expect her to get down on her knees and sing me a lament in C-minor, but come on! A "sorry" and a quick explanation would have been better than, "we don't have dough" and a stare. Again - pizza's great - when they can actually sell it to you. : D read more

There is nothing wrong with the food, it has always been good. This is more a food safety review. Having supper and watched a delivery guy, tall guy with a beard, come in wearing black gloves, he goes behind the counter, cuts pizza, puts topping from a bag on it then takes that to a customer at another business in the mall, comes back playing with his keys gets more pizza in his bags and leaving, NEVER washing his hands or changing gloves. This isn't a covid thing it's basic food safety. read more

This is not a commentary on the food, as we were never able to try it, it is a service review. We keep trying to order from this place for delivery and are never able to do so. It looks like a great menu, perfect for vegetarians, but both times we tried to order they find an excuse not to deliver. They say they are delivering through covid, but they don't seem to be able to deliver to us. We tried again tonight, and after spending all the time ordering online, filling all the information in, we got a call saying they had no delivery driver but we could come pick it up. After spending $50 on food, we are not going to spend another $20 on cabs to pick it up. I guess we may give them a try if we are ever actually at the place, but we won't be ordering online from them again. read more

My go to stop for "fancy" pizza. There are so many great options for all kinds of dietary needs. My personal fave is the Roasted Rocket even though I'm not a vegan. It's loaded with roast veg on a multigrain crust. They just recently started free local deliveries on orders of over $30 too. read more

I wish this could be a better review. I began ordering from On the Wedge after they started delivering in my neighbourhood. The first time, the pizza was delivered promptly, but a major issue with the credit card machine had me standing in my hallway for 15 minutes trying to pay while my children cried for pizza. Okay. A fluke. So I order again, and once more the credit card machine was not working properly. Again a long wait while it was sorted out. Fine. I called again, only to discover that an advertisment had been misprinted, and the store was closed. No problem. I order again, and this time I pay cash but recieve a pizza that is literally covered in olive pits. I nearly cracked a tooth. Why did I bother calling all those times if I wasn't happy? Because the pizza, once I managed to pay for it (with the exception of the inedible olive-pit pizza) is wonderful. Interesting choices, sauces, and toppings. The parmesan dusted crust is especially tasty. It was worth the hassle. But after tonight's olive pit disaster....I'll be calling somewhere else next time. read more

Big fan of On The Wedge. My friends loved the Carnivore and I'm a lover of their Greek. My last two visits have been disappointing. I ordered the Greek and it came smothered in mozza with hardly a trace of feta. The olives are no longer the real kalamata, they are the canned-jar type and the red onion is scarce. My friends noticed there was something different about the Carnivore but couldn't put their taste bud on it. Please don't cheap out on the ingredients like most of the other pizza joints out there, you will lose me as a customer. read more

On The Wedge is one of the few decent pizza joints in Halifax. However, they blew it for me this past Friday. The lone young female employee is primarily to blame. First off, I asked about a type of pizza you can see from behind the order counter and she said it was vegetarian and clearly there was meat on it. I then proceeded to order six slices, which is a bit expensive ($29), but usually worth it. I asked the employee to put the slices into a box, however, she said it was a pain to get a box because she is short and the boxes a stored up on top of a fridge or something and she couldn't reach them. So she stacks three slices into two small single-slice boxes. The pizzas had just been cooked, so when I opened the boxes, the slices were all melted together into big blobs of cheese, under-cooked dough, pesto and pepperoni. They were such a mess that my teenage son, who is an eating machine, wouldn't touch them. Very disappointed. Hopefully the manger/owner will read this and make sure quality control is improved. As someone who was spoiled by the quality of pizza in Toronto, I have come to rely on On The Wedge for good pie. read more
