Friendly and helpful staff. Cons:Seats are not sloped as much as I'd like to see so if big person is in front of you, you may have an issue. Your purse must be a certain size and will be checked.

I saw Blue Man Group here last night, as a belated birthday present from my wife (We've always wanted to catch them out in Vegas at the Venetian, but usually get distracted by something else or other once we're out there, which is easy to do!). The show was amazing! It was one of the most energetic, intensely creative and funny live performances I have EVER seen! We LOVED it! We are so thrilled to have finally caught their show after all these years! And there's no place we would have rather seen BMG other than The Venetian! The Strand was the perfect host for this show! We LOVE this venue! (This review is an update! See my previous review here on Yelp!) We are VERY excited about this upcoming season at The Strand! BMG plays one more show here tonight at 8pm. Catch it if you can! It's fantastic! Here's some other highlights for this season, check the website for other shows and dates as there are many, many more! Since I'm the Duke I guess I should review this place. I like this courthouse because from the…read moreoutside it looks like a courthouse. A real sense of gravitas exudes from the structure. You like them big words? Yeah you do you dirty little nerds!!! The main lobby interior also really gives them "you're in a courthouse" vibe!!! However, some of the courtrooms don't have that classic feel because they've been updated. I love that dark wood and foreboding aura that old school courtrooms give off. That vibe let's you know some heavy shit goes down in here. That justice is being handed out!!! There is only street parking around the courthouse but there is a parking garage 2 blocks away from the courthouse in Regions Tower. Security can be a pain as they always make you take off your belt to go through the metal detector, even if your a freaking lawyer. Just a pain in the ass really. All in all I don't mind appearing here because it's a cool building and when you pull up you know you are about to walk into a courthouse.

Even though I lost a good minute because their weird government issued thermometer (it looks like a camera for a mug shot) said I was too warm from outside. He continued to return to here as the place where he got his first big break. Not only did he return numerous times between 1956 and his death in 1977, but he hired Shreveport native James Burton to be an integral part of his  band and stage show. Interesting factoid... the phrase "Elvis has left the building" was first uttered here in Shreveport at the Hirsch Coliseum in 1956. This life-sized statue is in front of the memorial auditorium on, of course, Elvis Presley Way. The one, the only, Elvis Presley. The caption at the bottom records his introduction, "Ladies and gentlemen, you've never heard of this young man before, but one day you'll be able to tell your children and grandchildren that you heard musical history made tonight."
