Save yourself the hassle and drive to St. John's Town Center instead. I brought in a gently used Graco swing that was well cared for, had the box, and all original parts. My 11-month-old grew out of it, so I wanted to sell it and put the money toward clothes. While helping the associate put it together, she offered me $30 for it and told me I could head up to the front to get credit. I shopped for clothes within my budget, but when I went to check out, another associate told me they wouldn't take the swing after all. The first lady had conveniently "gone on break." Suddenly I was told the swing was "broken." That's strange, considering I never would've tried to sell something unsafe and when I checked, I saw them jam a pencil jamm into the swing, which absolutely wasn't there when I brought it in. So now I'm stuck with an item they damaged, no store credit, and wasted time. I take great care of everything I own, and I would never sell something in poor condition. I have a small toddler that is constantly growing and it hard to keep up with his constant growth spurts. Buying clothes frequently at the store can be very costly. I like to purchase gently used or clothing that hadn't been used with their tags at Once Upon A Child. There are so many options and the prices are extremely economical between $3, $5 and the most is $10. You can buy girl and boy clothes, toys, shoes, strollers, high chairs, beds and etc. They also organize all the clothing by gender (girl/boy) and then by size (starting at newborn and up to 5T). The GameStop of children's clothing. If you don't get the reference, it means they will give you an obscenely low amount of money for new and barely used things. Associates are just kinda there. I think it's getting progressively worse. Edit: Forgot to add. They also turn down new clothing for some odd reason. Stuff on the racks looks worse though sometimes, doesn't make any sense. Update: 10-24-2020 They are still the GameStop of children's clothing. No improvement. Update 9-25-2021 Expect $10. That's their favorite number. I've been doing some experiments with bringing in different quality of items and the number of items. I could bring in big toys and new clothes with tags. Could be 15 items, could be 30. I went in 10 different times this last month. 8/10 times they landed on $10 exactly. Interesting. read more

I originally gave this location one star because it was not organized at all, super stuffed, and you could barely shop due to lack of space. I recently visited this store and had a change of heart, because they have organized the store a little bit better, even though the aisles are still stuffy, they still managed to make it a bit easier to shop around. You still can't fit more than a few people on each aisle. If you can deal with the lack of space, it's a great store to shop at. So many deals here. We saved over $10 on a toy that we have been looking at for our son, and I'm so glad we didn't have to buy it new! The staff is very friendly, and the whole atmosphere has changed since my last visit. They are really picking up the pace with customer service compared to what it used to be. They still have some stuff to work on, but I can tell that they have changed a lot, for the better! read more

this place will rip you off. they sold me an lol doll house for over $100 dollars and when my child didn't want it i came back same season with all the accessories still zip tied unopened in the bag they sold it in and the owner said because they sold it to me with a damage that happened in there store they attempted to fix whatever was wrong and sold it to me marked down at over $100. they knowingly sold it damaged unbeknownst to. me. most parents shop here and when there child outgrows the toy brings it back. imagine buying a baby crib from them- no issues and a year later wanting to sale it back and them telling you unbeknownst to you they sold it to you damaged and can only offer you a quarter if what you got it for (from them) because they sold it to you damaged!!!!! read more

Today was the second time in a row that I had to absolutely flee the store. An employee was spraying a massive amount of spray disinfectant straight into the air. That takes an ignorance that I can't even fathom. I left the store 30 seconds after I entered, TASTING disinfectant with my hair and clothes also saturated in it. Even worse I had my newborn with me with whom I intended to shop for. How unhealthy for an baby to breathe in a massive amount of disinfectant!!!! COVID isn't even an excuse as disinfectant is supposed to be sprayed on a surface or into a paper towel then wiped on something if it needs to be used at all. It is actually making me sick to give this joke of an establishment one star! I had my baby a little over two months ago, and she quickly outgrew her Newborn and some of her 0-3 months clothes. Most of them she did not even get to wear. I was quite disappointed, but when I heard about this place, I was relieved I could get some money back for her gently used clothes. I also had some baby toy items that I could do without. So, I lugged my carload of items with me from Saint Mary's, GA to this location with my crying baby. I entered the store, dropped off one bag (crying baby in tote) and told them I had a bunch more in my truck. There were at least 4 employees just sitting on their butts and no one offered to help me. Okay, no big deal. I am a big girl, I can do this myself. Finally, after 3 trips back and forth (baby still fussing), I am told it will be about 20 minutes, so I decide to walk around the store and take a look. (Baby still fussing, but getting better). As I was walking around, I was quite disgusted with some of the items they had. Most were dirty, grimy, and definitely in no shape to be sold. Finally, while I am still in the store (baby finally asleep in my arms), my phone rings and to my surprise, it is one of the employees. Keep in mind, I am still in the store. The phone ring wakes my baby and she starts screaming again. I rush to the counter and the incompetent teenager thinks he can whisper over my child's crying so I cannot hear him and he refuses to speak up and proceeds to just point to signs and pieces of paper to get his message apart. They didn't want half my items and would only give me less than 15 bucks for what they did want. So, instead of lugging all the items in trips back and forth to the truck, I just left everything there. This location is a joke. Go find another since there are plenty around Jacksonville. read more

Worst Once Upon in jax except for maybe Regency( I've never used that location because the wait has always been 4+hours). They will take clothes the other locations don't (more worn & washed) and give 50 cents each. Not worth the trade in. Rather keep the memories. Too expensive for used clothes and banged up drooled over toys and furniture. read more

The store is very neat and organized. The staff don't seem that friendly, and this store has very little clearance beside the onesie section. My main issue is with the "kiddie play area" they all have. This store had two dirty, dingy, almost broken toys in there for the kids. Plus, one of those seats you attach to the toilet so a kid can potty train was also in there as a toy. This is also the first once upon a child I've been to that had "pay before you play signs everywhere." I had the feeling they wanted you to leave your kids at home before you came. read more

This place is fine, if you expect a ton of money by taking your baby items to a resale place you're gonna have a bad time. I've seen lots of people angry about the amount of money they offer. If you want full price for "new" or "never worn" items sell it yourself on craigslist or just donate it. I take things that my son doesnt use/wear anymore and then rest I donate. Its nice to have an extra 20 dollars to spend on clothes there or toys for him! I've found a lot of Gap, childrens place and carters, just have to do some looking. The staff is pretty rude, but i didnt really expect much, I wouldnt really enjoy that job either. All in all It works for my husband and i! I hope we find a place similar when we move. read more

Love this place. Although it was a busy Saturday afternoon, I was greeted by an employee upon entering the store. The quality of stuff this store sells is fantastic. You can't help but notice how organized everything is. They have an area set up where kids can watch tv so it was nice that my son could stay there while I took my time in the store. I found three pairs of shoes (almost new) for my children as well as some nice dresses for my girls. This is definitely a place that I will be going back to again and again. read more

I love this shop. I have never tried to sell anything, as I'm hoping for another little one in the future, I only buy there. I have never had a bad experience and I buy all of her clothes there. They have fantastic deals and the clothes are almost all in perfect shape. There are a few items I think are overworn but that's really more my personal opinion and preference than fact, to each his own! But many things I have purchased have been in brand new condition. In order to give a review you have to give at least one star, I'm giving this establishment NO STARS, due to the fact I bought a summer infant sweet sleep musical swing (swingin safari) for $35.00, two days later I tried to exchange it for a larger swing(we called ahead, spoke to a clerk she stated it would be ok to exchange the swing). When we arrived it was a different story. The clerk stated they could not exchange the swing because the tag was missing (which the clerk two days prior removed from the swing) They offered to buy the swing back for $25.00, ten dollars less then what I paid for it two days prior. The store could have pulled up the purchase history on the swing and exchanged it, but refused. I spent a total $98.00 on my purchases. A little history on the retail price of the swing, Walmart $80.71, Amazon $80.72, Baby R Us $99.99, J C Penny $98.99, and Summer infant company $99.99, I don't think in anyway Once upon a child would have lost money for exchanging the USED swing. read more

i so cant belive i have to give this place a star.its such a joke.. i went in there today to sell some of my kids clothes and when i got there they told me it would take about 30mins.. there was 4people in there working and no one could do it but they all could sit on there butts and run there mouths but couldnt do there job.. after they got off there butts they went through the clothes and told me they couldnt take them and the bad thing is they all r brand new clothes with the tags still on them but they say they cant take them bc there was stans on them really so i asked them were and they couldnt show me no stans... there is all young kids working there and dont no what there doing they are very rude there to when i told them they was crazy they got loud with me so i told them to take there stuff and go some were thats the nice way to say it lol.. so if i was you i wouldnt go there bc after they buy your stuff from you for like 1 dollar a shirt they go sell the same thing for like 10dollars so yeah not worth it at all its all a joke... read more
