03/2024 I was impressed with my visit to Hope's Closet. Huge selection of 2nd hand items as well as new buyout items. The store was organized & clean. I liked the layout, merchandising & decor. Associates were sweet & helpful. I felt positive vibes seeing some gathered around the "Prayer Tree" for a brief chat/meeting. Prices were good. I would definitely shop here again.

I originally went to another thrift store that opened at 10. I have to work from home by 10:30. I quickly googled a thrift store that would be open before then. I've always passed this little place by when shopping in that area. As soon as I walked in, I realised how large this place was. I was specifically looking for a winter coat for a stranger and wanted to get him a few comforters and blankets. I discreetly asked the young lady stocking the racks if she could help me find a warm coat that was thicker than what they had on the floor. Like lumberjack. She said they'd had new items not sorted on the floor, in the back and would be happy to check for me. The Christian music throughout the store made me graciously overwhelmed, and brought tears to my eyes. She brought out a multi layered fleece outside Crew jacket. Warm and durable. I picked out a comforter and two bogo couch pillows. She prayed for me and the recipient. When I got to the register, they asked me if they could partner with me for receiving the gift and if I wanted to add my prayer to their store "prayer tree" by handing me pen and paper. My new friend was very happy to have warm sheets and pillows and jacket to face the wind chilly nights in downtown Jacksonville. Bless your ministry.

In my opinion this is the best thrift store anywhere. The stores are well organized and sorted by colors and sizes. Kids clothes are $2 and many times you can find new items with tags on them. They have lots of jewelry, handbags, scarfs and shoes. There are times that they have some great furniture items. If you are looking to do community service hours this is a great place to go. All your purchases are tax free so that a savings too. The fitting rooms are open so you can try your items on. If you are looking for a bridal gown check here first. Books are .50 or $1.00. If you are looking to donate items there is a drive through in the back of the store. There is also a large section of new items. There was s a prayer tree and n the store that you can put a prayer request on. There is a daily prayer huddle in the store at 11:22am.

Love that masks are required and hand sanitizer is available at entrance, that made me feel safer while shopping. There's not a better clothing thrift store in Jacksonville than Hope's Closet, both locations. They are clean, organized and their sales are incredible. Las time I was there I bought 8 items for $9 and that's only because one of the dresses was "full price". They sale used and new items as well.

Props to the management of this store for their clever displays and organizational skills. Tons of nice clothes sorted by size, style and color. Three colors of clothing tags are always on sale. I noticed a lot of new-with-tags clothes and items with their own church affiliated "brand". Their prices before a sale are on the higher end but I think the overall vibe of the store and easy shopping experience warrants the higher price. Whoever prices their housewares needs a chill pill. All that stuff was over priced in my opinion. Lots of newer low end (think Target brand) items like mugs, glassware, dishes, decor. Most things are in decent condition not tossed around and busted up like Goodwill. I didn't buy anything today, but I'll definitely go back when I'm in the mood for clothes. It's a clean, pleasant place to shop.

I was focused to find classic pieces to update my work clothing for fall/winter. I didn't want to go to a store and pay $20 plus on each piece of item when I could get like-new items for very cheap. I chose the closest thrift store after my morning workout. It was right when it opened and had a color for 90%, 75%, and 50%. It was a very big store and I don't like sifting through a lot of clothes and spending a lot of time shopping so after 10 minutes I found the sales rack in the back. I went through it and picked up 10 pieces. You're allowed to try up to 10 at a time. I ended up findings the most amazing deals. My biggest Scott was a navy turtleneck tee from JCrew for 60 cents. When I came out of the dressing room I saw 5 other women surrounding the sales racks so I would get there right when it opens.

I live all of the crosses they have for sale. There is a lot more on a shelf also.

Nobody there is on a power trip lol You can do everything from sorting donations to hanging clothes to sweeping floors. For shopping it's kinda meh. I grew up thrift shopping and I feel this place is kind of expensive.. have yet to find any steals. It's laid out and labeled very well. Nice selection of women's clothing. There is an ok selection of men's, children's clothes. Ok selection for shoes. Also an ok selection for furniture. They do have a $1 section so that's nice. I will say if you are In need, they will take care of you. A woman came in with 7 kids and found clothes for EACH of them. 20 pieces each!!! Their philanthropy is wonderful. Just remember you're shopping and/or volunteering for a great cause! Definitely worth a stop.
