They've been here, in an exurb of Minneapolis, for about 20 years. It's like a store you'd have found in rural Arizona 30 years ago. The couple and their daughter have a museum quality changing collection of all kinds of Native American jewelry, blankets, kachina dolls, literature, etc. The dad makes jewelry which is sold there. They have earrings for $30 and Tommy Singer squash blossom necklaces for $5,000. Worth the drive.

If you don't stumble across it, like I did by hitting the supermarket it shares the plaza with, you'll never know about them. Maybe they like it that way. As the name implies they focus on furniture. The assortment is typically nice to average. Way better than your typical Goodwill or Savers, not as nice as others. The people who work here are very nice. They had an overdose of now-boat-anchor armoires that they were practically giving away but for sofas, chairs, art etc pretty nice. They do have other stuff like books, CDs, brutally overpriced vinyl, kitchenware, but prices are good to crazy. The place is cavernous so a good look around will get in your steps. Again if you don't save a note to remind yourself to visit you probably never will because they're almost invisible. If I hadn't been cleaning out desk junk I wouldn't have remembered I had kept a receipt from here. I have meant to go back but forgot the name and searching for thrift shops is pointless on this place. If you're near here or looking for some room revitalization it's worth a visit. Like so many of these thrifty antique stores (some of them literally right around the corner, across the street AND next door to this place), The Loft so much bigger than it looks. The first floor isn't huge, but the basement goes on forever. It's just room after room of interesting oldies, but goodies. The woman upstairs was on the phone a lot, but she was still friendly. The guy working downstairs was helping someone move a piece out of the basement, but he still took the time to say hello. Kinda small, but appreciate that stuff. :) The specialty is clearly home-related merchandise, and I'd recommend checking The Loft out for furniture like credenzas, sofa tables, buffets, dressers and the like. There were a lot of cool options for that kind of furniture and all of it natural, beautiful wood and most of it in good shape. Also those antlers. Lots of mounted antlers of all shapes and sizes and most in the $50-75 range. The jewelry that I saw wasn't anything special and I didn't see much in the way of clothing aside from a few coats and fur stoles. The prices were moderate. I picked up a couple of items and was surprised at the higher-than-I'd've-thought expense, but mostly moderate. [I'd've=probably not a word.] In addition, I overheard a woman buying set of silverware haggle mildly with the shopkeeper and they knocked 10% off. A good reminder to me that it never hurts to ask for a better price at an antique store!

It's always tough going in to an antique shop with specific needs as you never know what you'll find. Anyway, the store is two levels and set up with individual stalls for each vendor. The basement has a large collection of books but unfortunately they were a bit high for me (although totally fair priced). Good variety of items although it felt like at the moment, they had less decor and more collectibles, broadly speaking. The workers were all nice and offered to let me put my items down while I shopped. Definitely a place to stop by if you're on the hunt for antiques or just enjoy browsing!

CAP thrift store is absolutely horrible to their employees. I am angry for my friends and family…read morethat are just now leaving there. In the past, I left for similar reasons. After years of hard work and dedication to this store, someone close to me had let their manager know that a future date will be their last day. In the same day, an HR lady came in, told her to grab her stuff, and leave- with no good reason. There was still a long shift left for them to work the next day. They did not get to say bye to any of their close friends that they made a long the way. After years of minimum pay and mistreatment, you would think that they would let their employees leave happy and feeling respected.
