If you keep in mind, by policy, they never take 100% of what you come to sell, it's not too bad. Even if you gave them all new items with tags on they won't take it all. They sell stuff in conditions they wouldn't buy it in, which is a shame. They get some stock from the parent company's stockpiles. Also keep in mind normal store's sale and clearance prices, they can often be cheaper than the used items here, but you have to shop often or time sales to always get the best prices. read more

This location is the WORST!!!! Manager looks at you like if she's above you when you are trying to sell stuff. I have seen some stained and fuzz ball items in that store but refuses to buy my items. Trying to say they smelled like smoke when I don't even smoke!!! It was all new items with tags still on it! Went to enfield location and they bought it all. Horrible place to go. Never will I ever...go to this place again. I brought a lot of bigger items. They didn't want a good amount. No big deal. Now side note. When I brought them (one was a rocking chair) my uncle brought me because they were bigger an we have a small car) I was expecting them to take at least a couple things. They didn't. No big deal. Well. My husband was picking me up since we didn't expect so many things coming back. Well. Obviously the chair wouldn't fit. So I asked if I can drop off that load an come back for the chair. Nope. If I did that I'd be put on a do not buy list. Whatever. I take the chair to the dumpsters. Can't bring there. So I try to put in my car. But I absolutely couldn't. So. Screw it. I have to leave it. I literally have no other choice. They then proceed to yell at my husband and myself an start calling the cops. We just left cause that's insanity. But will NEVER GO BACK. The lady was so snide an rude the whole time but I was like whatever. Drop my stuff an shop an then go . But to then threaten the cops because I couldn't fit a chair that I was gonna come back for?. I sold a ton of baby clothes that were still in great shape and made some cash on the spot (well after a few hours wait, enough time to go out to dinner and shop a bit). I also got to look around at the clothes there, found some pretty good stuff I just didn't get any because I don't need any at the moment. I'll definitely be back to shop and sell again. Love it here! I shop here almost exclusively and make the trip maybe two, three times a year because I live further away. My children have such nice clothes for a fraction of the cost and I love it! They grow fast and this is just such a great option for us and still have an abundance of clothes that would normally cost $30 or more at a store for a new item. Such as coveralls etc, I never have the heart to purchase at a high price at old navy, when the quality isn't even that good anyway most of the time. At OUAC I just fill up the basket and go home with a ton of stuff opposed to just 12 items at the same price at even cheaper clothing stores. The selection is the bomb every time I've gone and I can't wait to be back! read more

I enjoy shopping at once upon a child for clothes for my newborn because he will grow out of sizes so quickly that I don't want to spend the money on brand new clothes that he will only wear one- two times. However, today was the first time I had been since I had my son and since I had acquired my service dog. My service dog is still in training. I went in with her, my son and a friend of mine to sell some items (no one said anything about her at the time when I was dropping off the items) and I chose to wait for the sale to be completed. We walked around the store for about 15-20 minutes before we took my SDIT to relieve herself. When we reentered the store, we were looking at some items in the front when a woman (who I can only assume was a manager) came out and told me they do not allow dogs in the store. I explained that she was a service dog and she asked for paperwork (which service dogs are not required to have nor are businesses allowed to ask for) and when I said that I didn't have any and that she is not required by law to have any she replied that that didn't matter because they have children come in with allergies to dogs. I encourage this business to educate their employees on ADA law because this establishment violated multiple pieces ADA law on service dogs. By ADA law, business are only allowed to ask two questions; "is the dog a medically necessary service animal?" and "what tasks is the dog trained to perform?". Per the ADA website, staff cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require special training or documentation for the dog, or ask the dog to perform the tasks they are trained to do. Possible allergies are not a valid reason to denying access of a service dog. The only times that service dogs can be asked to be removed is if the dog is not under control and the handler does not take action to control it or if the animal is not house broken. In my case, my dog was under my control the whole time (on a leash and in a 1-1.5 ft proximity of myself and my friend) and is housebroken (and I took effective action to make sure she did not have an accident in the store). Once Upon a Child needs to do better for their non-visibly disabled patrons. read more

I absolutely love Once upon a child. The onesies, shirts, pants start from 1.50 and outfits/ dresses start around $4.50. Some are brand new and have tags. Their clothes section is definitely the highlight. Toys and books are okay. Great store. Would recommend this store! read more

Extremely Disappointed!!! I'm giving this place 1 star because of how clean it and put together it was. Other than that I will never shop there or sell my stuff. I called 3 times getting information on selling my stuff. Very excited about going to the shop about 45-50 min drive from my house. I brought my stuff and they said about 2 hours they would have a quote. Ok that's fine. When I went back I had more than 1/2 my stuff given back to me. I expected a some back due to not always seeing a stains in different lighting but OMG I couldn't believe it..I went to the manager as I was very upset asking why they weren't taking some of these items. Things that were 6-18 month clothing that was brand new 6 months ago saying they are faded. Other things saying finger oil stains.. I couldn't believe it..Name brand stuff too..Perfect condition jeans!! Also told me when I got there they didn't except water toys, blankets, bibs, socks. I wouldn't have brought them if you told me that the 3 times I talked to you on phone. Point is don't sell your stuff there if you think it's in great shape because they won't. I Also looked around shop and couldn't believe some of things they took but didn't take of mine. One more thing they want your clothes brought to them in a certain way but then throw them back in your bucket to take back home. read more

A go to place for good stuff!! I had a very pleasant experience here. The shop is efficiently maintained. I thought I would find a bunch of stuff hodge-lodged together but everything was well organized. I had brought several large items to sell. The staff was overwhelmed with intake and they were short staff. The people I worked with were calm and interested in working with me. I had one item I thought I would get more for however it was explained to me that a large box store that employs millions around the world and pays them next to nothing, drives the prices for most things they buy. I get it. You can't keep the lights on if you aren't selling enough at the right prices!! Here you will find name brand clothing in good if not great shape. Toys and accessories priced well. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. I was not a consignment shopper before today but I think I've changed my mind about that. I'll include Once Upon a Child for my next shopping outing with my children. read more

Okay, so I was desperate for some newborn things as DCF was dropping of a two week old a couple of hours later (foster mother). I didn't have time to go to the Enfield OUAC. I bought a couple of baby outfits in okay shape, but the snuggle nest I purchased came with a folded up sheet that was totally pee stained. I didn't notice until I got it home and unfolded it. Given they wouldn't take the double-stroller I brought in that a tiny spot on it, which I sold to the Enfield store, I'm appalled that they would have put that on the floor. And the pack-and-plays were a ridiculous price, so I ended up going to Target and buying a new one for a few dollars more. For sure won't be back. read more

A total waste of time! I brought 5 bins of freshly laundered gently used boy clothes of good to excellent brands and waited 2 hours (because it takes longer if you don't wait on site) and earned a whopping $32.51! Will never go back and will encourage friends to donate to charities instead as you get much more as a tax break and even better feeling in your heart than utilizing this racket of a business and you don't waste 3+ hours of your life! Maybe if they were more upfront about what they take, it wouldn't infuriate sellers. read more

I'd like to firstly say that literally the ONLY reason I'm giving this store 2 stars instead of 1 is because the manager/owner reached out personally to me to try to resolve a HUGE complaint I had with the store the same day I made it. He also issued me a $10 credit (which I honestly didn't use) the same day as well. Onto the review. As some of the previous reviews have stated, good LUCK selling your clothes to them! When they were first going to open I was able to sell some big items that had been sitting around my attic and received a price a bit lower than I expected (I sold a basically new pack and play, an immaculate high chair, a play mat, and some other things. I brought in enough to fill the entire trunk of my Suburban and left with half of it)- $70 for the almost brand new pack and play, the high chair, play mat, and maybe one bag of clothes. Ehh it's new right? So a while after they opened I had been about 4 times to sell to them. Mind you, my oldest is 9 and I've been selling (and buying) to the Enfield store for about that time. I'm no "newbie" to OUAC standards. Out of those 4 times, they rejected two entire sales and only took 4 or 5 things from my other bins the other two times! They were rejecting for "stains, fading etc". The time before the one referenced above I had a pair of Nike sneakers that were literally worn once! (Also with that load they rejected totally I had some time so I went to Enfield and they bought about half of it) The one referenced above hit a new low for me and completely tarnished any respect or second (or fourth) chances that store and I will ever have. My youngest had a growth spurt and I had to get rid of most of her winter things. Brand spanking new winter things. Like with tags. I brought in about 4 huge bins of things- snow pants, coats, shoes, jeans, you name it. I dropped them off, went to the mall, and though was quoted 2 hours, was called back within a half hour. When I went back to the store they handed me back EVERYTHING. Their reason? The ever so ambiguous "mild staining, slight odor" reason. I. Was. Pissed. No one smokes in my house and I don't cook exotic foods every night so where's the odor? And PLEASE point out the staining on something that still has the tag on it from the store?! What really iced the cake was the fact that when I actually perused the store there were items with OBVIOUS stains and dirt! There was a pair of snowboots that were supposed to be light up ones that not only didn't work, but were absolutely filthy! Again, I wasn't a happy camper. Again the ONLY reason I'm giving this review 2 stars is because I vented my frustrations to an employee who helped me with my things back to the car and I was surprised to hear from the owner later that afternoon. After a lengthy conversation he asked me to bring the items back so he could personal go through them and issued me a $10 credit that I could use any time. I didn't go back because I had already dropped the items off to the shelter as I had no time to go to Enfield. Though the owner did follow up, I absolutely will not be back. read more

I really like this place. I buy and sell items from time to time. Sometimes you don't receive a whole lot of money when you sell your items here. I tried to sell 2 pottery barn kids wooden chairs here, and they tried to offer me $2 per chair lol So be mindful of that. It's very clean and organized. They have a large selection and send you text messages regarding sales and promotions. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My husband and I brought in a whole bag of brand new clothing from our daughter. Including brands like Carters and Juicy Couture. We also brought in her bassinet which had been used maybe for a week (she never liked it). We went to check out and were informed that they wanted almost all the clothes. We were offered $6...laughable. So I told the employee I would be taking everything back (i'd rather donate it to a center I work with where the clothes will be given to moms for free). She glared at me and gave me my bag of clothing and went to start the next person's checkout. My husband and I looked at each other and I looked at her and asked where our bassinet was (mind you, on the paper, that she first read, that I filled out, I wrote that I had a bag of clothing and a pink and white bassinet). She looked at me and proceeded to go into the doorway of the back room and get my bassinet. So not only were they not going to give it back to me, they purposely separated it from my other things and put it where I wouldn't see it. Disgusting! Will never see me in there again. Go to the store in Enfield. They're much more polite and assisted me in carrying things to my car. read more

Plus they are very respectful when we sell stuff. A lot of people say they are too picky but I think that's necessary when I want to buy stuff without stains. I love this place!! read more

This store is wonderful! It is always clean and organized, the staff is helpful and friendly. And you can't beat the prices! We picked up some extra equipment (swing, pack n play & high chair) and toys for the grandparents house. My daughter loves checking out what "new" toys they've gotten in. We always leave with a couple books. They also have cards they stamp, once it is full you will get a percentage off of a purchase. Who doesn't love saving even more money. And because the clothes are so reasonably priced I don't have to worry if the kids get dirty playing in them with friends or at school. I can get the brand names without emptying my wallet! When checking out they also have a jar on the counter with free lollipops and stickers for the kids. We love this store! It is always our go to spot when we need clothes and shoes. I haven't sold anything to the store before but I know plenty of people who have and they were happy with the experience and the amount they were offered. Im getting some stuff together for selling and will update my review with my experience once I have done that myself. read more

When I go shopping here for my soon to be 1 yr old I like the selection and always leave with a bunch of clothes. When I go to resell my daughters clothes I make sure they are all stain free not dingy at all and folded and washed. But yet everytime I go to resell they tell me all my items where dingy and stained! Worse place to go to sell items ever. read more

Ive had some ok experiences and some not so good. First time going here I droPped off clothes and went bacj to work across thr street. Got a call when they were done about an hour later that I couldnt answer. I ended up having to stay late and didnt make it back beforr they closed. The next morning I get uo and start getting ready to go, I missed a call from them and get a voicemail saying my clothes have been there since monday (its thursday) and I need to come get them immediately. I called back to let them know I was in my way and also politely let them know its impossible my clothes were there since monday when I dropped them off the night before. Also bought two halloween costumes here for a great price but turns out one was completely ripped under the arm. I was able to sew it but some if the things they have for sale are ironic because they reject things for much more minor issues. I have gotten a good amount of money selling things though so three stars. read more
