Here is a letter from the professional that came to clean up his mess and do it right! I am the owner of an outdoor space company that specializes in deck building. I am also the installer that completed the unfinished job for the Jones family. They called me to come out and take a look and finish up the deck that was started by a previous contractor. When I came over to take a look, I showed up to an extremely unsafe job site. The job was left with trash and nails everywhere and the deck was left structurally unsafe with no railing. My opinion, the contractor is lucky that no accidents happen. That was all at first glance as I dug deeper I realized the contractor had used scraps and scabbed boards and floor joist together to make one board in multiple places instead of using new proper material that was the correct length. This job was left 50% uncommitted and what had been completed the lack of craftsmanship, quality and safety was truly mind blowing.
