The menu changes daily and offers a wide variety of chicken (anything and everything from a mild honey mustard to the HOT HOT HOT Bomber's own recipe scotch bonnet/ghost chilli Perkbomb) and pork options, and occasionally lamb, falafel or home-made fish fingers. The sandwiches come as small boys (a small soft or crusty roll) or big boys (a bap the size of your face!); alternatively they offer salad boxes or jacket potatoes if you don't quite fancy a sandwich. If you'd prefer something light, there's almost always a fantastic soup (I had carrot and coriander today), but if you're feeling famished I dare you to take on the atomic bomb which is a combination of any three meats and all the salad you like! Its location means that it's perfect for those working in Cardiff city centre (or the Bay) as well as those indulging in a bit of shopping, although I regularly travel out of my way to treat myself to a cheeky sandwich. If you've got time on your hands, I'd also suggest taking a seat and having some tea or coffee and a slice of cake. Having recently been awarded 5 out of 5 on the Food Hygiene Rating, it is safe to say that Bomber's cannot be beaten on quality, cleanliness or service; as well as doing a fantastic job of supporting local businesses by sourcing local produce.

Deli Rouge - enjoy the halumi cheese

They have a massive selection of sandwiches and fillings, including all the standards and some little extras like homemade apple chutney and haloumi cheese. Superb. I can thoroughly recommend the Farmhouse sandwich (honey roasted ham, mature cheddar, salad and chutney), as most of our group all independently ordered the same thing. This led to a funny moment when the first sandwich was delivered and we all threw our hands into the air and laughed. This is a family run business and has a wonderful busy, cosy and slightly haphazard feel to it. It's a fantastic place to sit and while away lazy days.

If you searching for a glamorous, expensive, chic cafe where you can buy an expensive, TINY coffee - you are NOT in the right place. Deli Rouge doesn't have a glitzy location or exterior, but inside it achieves a lovely rustic British-come-Mediterranean atmosphere that lets you leave the wet outside world behind. It's good to remember that it's primarily a deli, so the room is quite small. However, the selection of produce and high quality ingredients for sandwiches and salad is immense! They let you compose your own, adding what you want from the counter at a shockingly low price (thick slabs of feta for just 20p more?! Yes please!) Or you can choose from the extensive list of already composed filling combination (e.g Herby Cheese and hummus.) There isn't that much seating, but what is there is great - cushions in bay window, dinky tables outside, bucket chairs around wooden tables. I'd highly recommend taking a book or a friend (or both) for a reasonably priced lunch that is made up of fresh, tasty ingredients. PS - The coffees are HUGE!

Now let's see... does that include too many pieces of chocolate fudge cake at £1.99 a pop, or perhaps the carrot cake... (ah, hang on, there's a vegetable in that!). Ok, what about the cheesecake...? What? Half a strawberry perched on every slice? Surely that's considered more of a garnish, rather than a health giving ingredient...? Besides, one lean soldier in a cholesterol army of thousands isn't going to win the war of the yucked-up artery is it? And since when was deep frying considered to be an imperative component of health defence? La Mina Juice Bar seems keen to announce the recent addition of Falafel to its menu. Yep, Falafel is deep fried, Yep, that's right... Hmmm... I won't go on as I'm enjoying this a little too much, and it's a bit mean... I guess it's a bit like getting to play the baddie in a movie when you are an actor that's seen to be whiter than white... you do it with relish... but perhaps, I'm over egging that pudding...? La Mina's Juice Bar is home of the best baguettes and sandwiches in Cardiff. Despite being dubbed a 'Juice Bar' I only ever carb-load when visiting here and as everything in covered in mayonnaise / copious amounts of butter I doubt any would consider it a healthy option!? I forever order the same: Minted Lamb Baguette with Salad. The occasional BBQ Chicken if they've sold out. They have seating inside yet I'd recommend you walk / drive around the corner to Roath Park and take a seat in front of the lake. Bliss.
