Very shortly thereafter, Dr Ruoh Sim saw me. Even though it was the end of his shift, he heard me out on ALL my concerns and provided a solution for each one. I received a breathing treatment in the office, and the doctor gave me prescriptions before I left the office. Visit was 1 hour in total that included roughly 45 minutes of treatment time. Note: I am traveling from overseas, paid out of pocket, and had a flight scheduled for the following day. Dr Ruoh treated me with all of these factors in mind. Professional, kind, and thorough.

The reception staff were friendly &. I saw the triage nurse quite quickly & had about an hour's wait to see a doctor. People need to appreciate that these guys have a tough job. Anyone & everyone turns up at their door. Yet they are always professional. Dr Lucien was excellent & provided the medical care I needed. He also explained I was able to be on ACC, which meant my health care was a good bit cheaper. Having worked in urgent care in England and compared the two, I believe St Lukes was excellent & can highly recommend them. I found it really helpful having the White Cross up the road from me when I was in between doctors. It's also great for just calling in when you need a doctor fast and there aren't any appointments at your usual. But beware you will get stung with a hefty bill. There is also sometimes a bit of a wait but this is nothing if you have to wait ages to get into your actual doctor. The staff are onto it, friendly and know what they're talking about. There's also a chemist right there so you can get everything in one go. Seriously handy if time is of the essence and you're just popping out during work hours. I'd really recommend going here if you're in need of a doctor fast or if you want a lovely doctor's clinic to be a part of.

When this place first opened over 10 years ago it was more of an A & E clinic and my first…read moreexperiences were late at night or on the weekends with my babies when I couldn't get to my own doctor in Royal Oak. Eventually I realised that this is the nature of sick children (it's ALWAYS urgent, especially when they are your own beloved bubs) and moved the whole family to this clinic. It is discounted healthcare here for members and with some GPs charging up to $95 a visit now, the $17 charge ($10 for the kids) makes a big difference - even when you have health insurance they only cover to a certain amount per visit. You also don't need an appointment unless you want to see a particular doctor which is SO much easier. The downside is that not all doctors are created equal and you can wait for up to an hour a half - although it's usually under an hour. Once you've seen a few you can make an informed choice and I now have a regular GP that I use for standard appointments and know which are the best ones for backup. Unfortunately health care has become the individual's responsibility and a close GP/patient relationship is hard to find these days with doctor's surgeries feeling like revolving door drug factories. I do miss the feeling of support I used to have and the fact that Dr Google is my biggest medical ally in making diagnoses, but I guess it's just a sign of the times. They are all so busy there's no time to get to know everybody. Having said that, relationships grow over time and Three Kings Accident & Medical is definitely a convenient and economical place for your family's healthcare and if things get worse, you can whip them off to Starship.

All the staff from receptionist-to-nurse-to-doctor are all professional, friendly and communicative. Fees for consults are expensive, from $41 (child) to about $70 (adult) during weekdays before 6pm + prescription if needed, from the on-site pharmacy. They also have a resident physio and podiatrist. Toys are on hand for pre-schoolers, dated magazines for the adults, and/or you can people-watch: more interesting while you wait! Convenient pop-in clinic - open 7 days.

But the great thing is that the service and the faces are just as friendly and sympathetic. These ladies are lovely, they're like mums - which is great when you;re not feeling good and all you want is a mum hug. If you're in a lot of pain, they send you straight through and the communication is really good which is super important. If i'm in pain I wanna know how long I have to wait. No matter what time of the day or night you turn up, they'll take care of you. I have had nothing but good experiences here, obviously apart from the reasons that I was here in the first place.

Absolute SHIT SHOW…read more last week I had appendicitis. The doctor originally, and I quote, said "the story for appendicitis doesn't sound convincing to me, I doubt it's appendicitis"..... 12 hours later? You have appendicitis.. like okay! Great! A diagnosis for my pain! That's what i'm supposed to think right? my surgery was then delayed an entire 3 days where I stayed in the surgery prep ward forced to at this point starve because I was constantly told to fast and "oh you'll be having the surgery today/soon!" Now I'm back a mere 6 days later after post op, I have almost identical pain and issues as to when I originally had appendicitis, what do they do in the first 24hrs? Absolutely NOTHING. I came through the ED, was told within an hour (for once I got to see the doctor fast - come at 7-8am or else you'll be waiting a minimum of 5hours) that I needed to get a CT scan done and that it should take 1-2hours. I was like "Great!".... then the ENTIRE day, I get told by the doctors yea yea well do the ct scan, only to then do ABSOLUTELY NO TESTS ALL DAY - not an ultrasound, nothing - make me fast ALL DAY and then decide not to do the CT scan at all at 7pm after I specifically told them id rather do it and go home if nothings wrong than waste a night here for you to not do it at all. 12 hours of being there for absolutely NOTHING because they refuse to get tests done to prove things or diagnose you. They'll have an idea (based off almost nothing) of what your issue might be caused by and then they'll STICK WITH IT WITH NO PROOF. Never ever go to north shore hospital. I've NEVER had any good times here. Unless you have a broken bone or are bleeding you will NOT BE SEEN.

Now I have had medication that I have relied on for years to control cluster headaches at bay, changed by a doctor from there without seeing, examining or even speak to me first. Believe me if I ever need hospitalization again, I will crawl on my hands and knees over the bridge to get to Auckland hospitals area
