What a contrast! Instead of the chaos at Famous Footwear we found a very orderly store with attractive displays and very helpful sales associates. When I pointed out that they could get us out faster if they helped us find what we came in to get instead of standing at the register being mad that we were even there. What I got was major attitude and total disrespect from the young man, he proceeded to sass me and tell me I never asked for help and maybe if I did he would. At which point I admit I was 1st shocked and then I got mad. I will never shop at that store again. Not that far to go to Shakopee where the staff is helpful and well trained in customer service.

There was a person there who was helpful but in the end we did not find what we wanted and went down a couple of doors to Shulers Shoes which had a much better selection, a better environment, and more professional service. During this visit, the manager called another store to learn if they had the shoes we needed in my son's size. Fortunately, they did, so we bought the wingtips that we'd found at this location and drove over to the Savage location for the sneakers needed for school. Yes, my 14 year-old son wears wingtips. Most of the men's shoes have sizes up to 16, so it's pretty easy to find what you need here. They even carry these larger sizes in medium width. My son doesn't have wide feet, so it can be difficult to get shoes that work well with his gun boats. The women's shoes on offer are great, too. Stylish and not all super-high heels. They recognize that not every woman wishes to reach for the stars when she's wearing nice shoes.

I browsed the men's section first since the shoes are pretty much the same, I couldn't find them at first so I went across the store over to the women's and couldn't find converse in women's either. I did notice the women's shoes wasn't as busy as the men's. I browsed around a bit (no one greeted me or anything in men's or women's). I did finally find them under a table display and they only had platforms for women's so I went back over to men's to take another look. I did find them and waited for a salesman to assist me. A man walked up (after me) and the shoe he wanted was next to stock room so he was helped right away. I waited and asked for help.. I was told by a rep that he had to go check on some other customers, I kept waiting and being ignored to the point I witnessed reps asking people still looking around if they needed help and finally someone came up to help me, I asked for a 7 (as I'm a 8 1/2, 9 in women's), he came back and told me the smallest size they have is an 8 which is too big. I also needed a new cover for my thrift store Stanley. I did score 20% off. What bothers me is they say they have a military discount but supposedly this store doesn't do that. Scheels offers 5% off. I'm glad I had a 20% discount for these spendy $174 shoes. Hope they are comfortable for my new side fun job this summer. I will be walking a lot and enjoying concerts.

She said a lot of foot terms and I nodded along, fully trusting the process. Shoes were suggested and then taken for a spin around the store. They were all excellent choices, but I had to choose one and went with a pair of Asics. I was so glad I had a shoe guide for the journey. Kathleen was knowledgeable and kind.
