Anyway, I needed to print out a document, sign it and email it back to someone - very 2008, I know. The first person that came by wasn't helpful at all and wandered away after 30 seconds. Fortunately one of the other employees stepped up and went out of her way to help me out. Problem solved, document signed and sent, all for less than $1. (Again, the person I worked with was amazing but that did not appear to be typical as most of the employees seemed to be avoiding human interaction).

Problem: it was Sunday afternoon and they were closed. Fortunately this Fedex location was a hop, skip and a jump from the Galt House hotel so I took a walk cover to ship my boxes. Coming form New York City, I have to say this Fedex location was cavernous compared to the ones I'm used to. This looked like a warehouse dedicated to printing and shipping! The store was very clean, brightly lit and well organized. The staff member who helped me was extremely helpful. He helped pack up my boxes, wrapped up the items inside and helped me check out very quickly. Afterward he gave my friends and I some great advice on nearby places he enjoys eating and hanging out. Always listen to the locals, I say! Fedex is not cheap, but it wasn't crazy expensive either. The key was these guys were open for shipping when no one else was. Kudos for great service and life saving hours.

This period included a full day session between their team and ours, diving deep into our goals and vision for an end product. Blackstone also committed to researching our industry, national and local competitors and current website analytics. We submitted a list of employees and customers, which they interviewed by phone. My favorite bit of info - third party input from website visitors, sharing what they liked and didn't like on the current website. It confirmed several issues I'd highlighted as the reason we needed to make the investment. A quote for website production was issued after discovery. I had the option to walk away with the information or move forward. Building a website isn't easy and patience is key, but Blackstone bailed down the template and navigation quickly. I was taught how to build content into the pages and set up SEO on Yoast, which is built in to the customized Wordpress site. Before launch I worked closely with the Blackstone team to perform QA tests. We had one day of sitting in a conference room knocking out fixes. When our launch happened, it was seamless. I waited a week to announce it to the company! But, our new site worked from day one. I now work with Blackstone monthly on a retainer agreement. The team continues to produce analytics and suggestions for improvement. Some things I can do, others they quote by the job. They also assist my company with AdWords and website hosting. Blackstone will not be the cheapest option for a website but the end product will certainly show the difference. I consider them a partner that provides transparency and education for my questions regarding digital marketing.
