The daycare center is clean and safe, the curriculum is fun for the kiddos, and the staff clearly cares about our little girl.

My experience with enchanted castle has been nothing but excellent!…read more My daughter started here when she was 3. Since then I have enrolled my son and my newborn. Mrs Angela, Mrs Lisa , Mrs Bailey and Mrs Tiffany and Mrs Holly have all treated us like family. From the education to the emotional development my children have grown so much. My child attended Enchanted Castle for two days in January of 2021, for about 4 hours each day. The…read morefirst day seemed to go okay, though I was concerned when the main teacher of my child's room stopped mid sentence to yell at a different child across the room. I set it aside since it was to have the child remove something from their mouth and I figured that was better than choking. When I arrived to pickup up my child he was happy and didn't want to leave. The second day when I arrived to pickup my child he wanted to leave immediately, he was even distressed when I stopped to grab his lunch and water bottle. As soon as we arrived home he began to grab the front of his diaper and say "ouch, ouch, ouch." This is something he had never done before, he had never even said "ouch" before. When I changed his diaper I discovered that his genitals and the area immediately surrounding them were red and inflamed. Upon further inspection the skin from the body of the penis was torn away from the glans. Again, something that has never happened before with my child. I immediately documented the incident, called the facility to report the incident and that my child would not be returning. The director apologized and said they would speak with the teachers in that room. I received an email later that evening that the teachers reported that his last diaper change (20 mins before I picked him up) was wet and everything was normal. Nothing else. I picked up his items later that week and there was no acknowledgment of the incident. I asked several friends who have boys if they had ever had anything similar happen with their kids; none, not a single one had ever had this issue. They were all shocked to hear of such an incident. The only thing they could think of was either long nails or jewelry snagging the skin of his penis while changing him or being overly rough while changing him. I am not a person who wears long nails or jewelry, so this is not something I thought of. My child is very active, has run around the house naked playing and climbing, and has never ever injured his genitals doing so. Regardless, either the teachers providing care to these 2 year olds don't know what normal is or they (and/or the director) lied about any incident occurring. I'm so glad I removed my child from the facility when I did, earlier this summer I received notification that a teacher in the 2 year old room was reported to social services for mishandling a child. Do not leave your child here. The anxiety of trying to find another childcare facility to trust has been an utter nightmare since our experience here.

" we thought she was sleeping" Then her teacher Christine said " we rubbed her back and thought she fell asleep, then proceeded to say she was playing with blocks. I said okay was she sleeping or playing with blocks, again who is watching her? No one? You should be mad at yourself that you allow yourself not to pay attention to these kids. I will not pay for it. Lorrie comes storming over to me, gets in my face, and said " you need to pack your daughter and her things, you need to get out of my school, today is your last day, I said okay. I gathered her things. Her teacher Christine, said I'm sorry I don't know why she has an attitude and it always like that. I emailed her, I asked for the video footage, and Addys files. Her response was highly inappropriate. (Her response in the picture. ) I get into the car, addy told me (" mom Lorrie scared me, she said " you need to grab your things and get out of your class room when your mom comes to get you) and that Lorrie poked her in the chest. Lorrie and her daycare has no sanitation, they attack children verbally and physically, unorganized, Lorrie's office upstairs smells like urine because her dog sits up there you walk on paperwork. She doesn't have her finances in order, she will harass you every day about your schedule. If I could write more I would. I have a lot more situations, and dates I reported.

If you do not place an expectation or boundaries; how is she suppose to listen? I was talked down too multiple time by to "owner". If she really is the owner I believe she needs to reevaluate herself and learn professionalism. Incidents happened every week, I heard about them from my child but never once did I hear about it from a teacher. One teacher told my child she was very bad for speaking. No rhyme or reason. She could have rephrased, "hey the other kiddos are trying to rest. It is quiet time."; would have been better. Another or same teacher (unsure) told my child none of the kids wanted to be her friend. That's very harsh to say to a 4 year old! Kids were always out side from moment of drop off till pick up; even on the worst weather days. Live problems happened 2x in one month. Now that's typical for a school. When she sent a secondary email. I simply asked if they were cleaning the carpets too. And she responded " ???? Of course. Why do you ask?" I said out of curiosity. But truthfully out of common sense. Lorrie, ask why I didn't make a conference plan with her to speak about said concerns. I honestly did not feel comfortable enough to do so, considering the last few very uncomfortable and unprofessional interactions I've had with her. Also I've heard she got into parents faces before and yelled; plain old irrational. Now I know the "owner" may see this and leave a response trying to defend her "precious" business. But, don't let her fool you. The place deserves to be shut down. Child neglect, verbal abuse, maybe even physical abuse (who really knows).

Our kids: - were excited to be there every day - were surrounded by wonderful, nurturing teachers who balanced play with development. Our kids were beyond prepared for kindergarten in every sense. - made tons of friends, including from younger and older classes because there's some cross-over play time. It's small enough that every teacher knew our kids well. - loved the facility - the rooms have a super happy energy and the backyard is shady and full of activities - had the option to participate in a wide range of extra activities that the school coordinates to take place onsite - Spanish, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, dance Both of my daughters attended from age 3 onward and I only wish we'd started there sooner because the difference in their happiness between their first preschool and Creative World was so stark. We're so grateful to everyone there who played such a pivotal role in our children's lives (and ours in taking such good care of them!). We've since recommended it to a number of friends, who've all had similarly fantastic experiences.

My daughter used to hit someone everyday at her last school and once she transferred to Creative World, her behaviors just stopped. The teachers are caring, calm, fun, and understand the needs of my daughter. The playground is the best in Reno and she has extracurriculars provided through the school. I know my daughter is safe and loved while she's at school. The owner Liz is understanding and knows what's important to families and I feel so blessed to call Creative World our preschool.

My daughter has been going to Excel since kindergarten and I am happy with the school. The…read morespiritual component is the reason that we chose the school. Bible is a regular subject and there are daily prayers and a weekly chapel where all grades gather for worship and then to listen to an age-appropriate Biblical message. It's comforting knowing that our values and beliefs are being reinforced at school by like-minded adults, most of whom see their job at Excel as a ministry. Another aspect that I really appreciate is the small class sizes. There is only one class per grade, so my daughter has been with the same group of kids throughout her school career. This has allowed her to form deeper friendships than she would be able to having to start over with a new class each year and it also means I am familiar with most of her classmates and their parents so I know who she is hanging out with and what kind of homes they are from. Each teacher so far has had his or her own teaching style and personality, but I have no complaints about any of them. They have all been very loving and caring in their own way. Excel is non-Denominational and not sponsored by any particular church or denomination, so there is a diverse mix of students and teachers who attend many different Christian churches in the area. While it's a small school, it is still relatively ethnically diverse for its size. I expected that there would be a trade off with diversity when we chose to send our daughter there, but have been pleasantly surprised that she has never been the only person of color in her class and our interracial family has never once felt out of place or discriminated against in the slightest. Academically, I have no complaints. The curriculum (besides Bible, obviously) seems pretty standard and similar to what you'd find in a public school. My daughter is on part with her grade level. Yes, it is a private school. Yes, you have to pay money for something that the government is willing to give you for "free," but it's money well spent, in my opinion. We aren't wealthy. We are a working class family struggling to get by, but we are happy to go without many things to know that our children are growing up being taught about the redeeming love of Christ at the place they spend most of their waking hours because at the end of the day that's what will give them the best shot at being happy in life.
