My experience with enchanted castle has been nothing but excellent! My daughter started here when she was 3. Since then I have enrolled my son and my newborn. Mrs Angela, Mrs Lisa , Mrs Bailey and Mrs Tiffany and Mrs Holly have all treated us like family. From the education to the emotional development my children have grown so much. My child attended Enchanted Castle for two days in January of 2021, for about 4 hours each day. The first day seemed to go okay, though I was concerned when the main teacher of my child's room stopped mid sentence to yell at a different child across the room. I set it aside since it was to have the child remove something from their mouth and I figured that was better than choking. When I arrived to pickup up my child he was happy and didn't want to leave. The second day when I arrived to pickup my child he wanted to leave immediately, he was even distressed when I stopped to grab his lunch and water bottle. As soon as we arrived home he began to grab the front of his diaper and say "ouch, ouch, ouch." This is something he had never done before, he had never even said "ouch" before. When I changed his diaper I discovered that his genitals and the area immediately surrounding them were red and inflamed. Upon further inspection the skin from the body of the penis was torn away from the glans. Again, something that has never happened before with my child. I immediately documented the incident, called the facility to report the incident and that my child would not be returning. The director apologized and said they would speak with the teachers in that room. I received an email later that evening that the teachers reported that his last diaper change (20 mins before I picked him up) was wet and everything was normal. Nothing else. I picked up his items later that week and there was no acknowledgment of the incident. I asked several friends who have boys if they had ever had anything similar happen with their kids; none, not a single one had ever had this issue. They were all shocked to hear of such an incident. The only thing they could think of was either long nails or jewelry snagging the skin of his penis while changing him or being overly rough while changing him. I am not a person who wears long nails or jewelry, so this is not something I thought of. My child is very active, has run around the house naked playing and climbing, and has never ever injured his genitals doing so. Regardless, either the teachers providing care to these 2 year olds don't know what normal is or they (and/or the director) lied about any incident occurring. I'm so glad I removed my child from the facility when I did, earlier this summer I received notification that a teacher in the 2 year old room was reported to social services for mishandling a child. Do not leave your child here. The anxiety of trying to find another childcare facility to trust has been an utter nightmare since our experience here. read more

I have two young daughters; ages 1 & 4. My eldest has been to two daycares during her lifetime and my youngest has been to one. Sparks doesn't have a lot choices when it comes to daycare for children under 2. We had already been to Goddard (see my other review), and I checked out Imagination Station and Pebbles but weren't impressed with either. I wasn't sure what I was going to do when we loose our nanny next month. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't even going to check out Enchanted Castle. I had heard horrible things about KinderCare (which used to be there). I assumed it was somehow related and didn't want to waste my time. (As it turns out the owners of Enchanted Castle own the building and leased it to KinderCare, who destroyed it. The owners took back the building, remodeled it and opened up their own school). An old teacher who I am friends with from Goddard recommend that I check out Enchanted Castle and I couldn't be more happy that she told me to check it out. I toured the school yesterday. I met with both the owner, Renee (a retired Washoe County school teacher) and the director Jen. The school is huge!! It has a somewhat open floor plan for preschool aged children. There are lots of activities and structure. All the toys are new and the building has been fully remodeled (re-carpeted and painted). It even smelled very clean! They have a great playground for the kids (even a basketball court) and they have astroturf! I was very impressed with the baby rooms. They split up the babies from 6 weeks to about 1 year and then 1 year to 2 years. I was at a center before that had the room combined and that was a nightmare. They provide the cribs for the kids to nap in. It really is a nice, new center. The tuition prices are very reasonable (prices are on their website). I will update this review once we start. I just wanted to write an initial review right now since I made the mistake of writing this place off due to the prior center that was here. I don't want any other parents in Sparks to make this same mistake. read more

My daughter was signed up here for several months during COVID. The facility was always super clean. It smelled clean and everything was well organized. The front desk person was always friendly and knew who we were even when we had just started. It felt nice to be acknowledged. My daughter had been home with grandma prior to starting here. She was non-verbal when she started. She hated going here and cried when I dropped her off as well as when I picked her up. It wasn't her normal anxious cry and I can't find the words to describe the cry...Anyways, she probably only went to this place maybe a week or two in total in the several months we paid for her spot because I always had a gut-feeling that something wasn't right. On one occasion, I saw one of the teachers yelling at one kid in the 2 year old classroom. There was another teacher nearby and no redirection to the teacher was given. No one stepped in for that child. Looking back, I know I should've said something. One thing to note is that that teacher had not seen me walk in when she was yelling. She calmed down once she saw me. On another occasion, I walked in and there were three teachers in the classroom. Everyone was outside. My daughter was whimpering and had her water bottle in hand (obviously a que that she wanted water). Again, the teachers didn't notice me for a good 30 seconds as I stood there and observed. As soon as one of them saw me, she brought my daughter's attention to me and asked my daughter if she wanted water. My daughter immediately broke down in tears. I knew in my gut that she was showing signs of real fear and after the water bottle incident, we never went back. We continued to pay to have her spot held because of all the uncertainty with COVID and going back to work as well as because this place did appear to be well put together and appeared to be what I wanted for my daughter. She started at a new daycare immediately after formal notice was given to this one and she has been her normal cheery self since day one. She talks now and every day, she raves about her day and her friends. She does get anxious at drop off and cries at pick up. But, I've stuck around at drop off long enough to know she only cries for a few seconds (literally) after drop off. At Enchanted Castle, she cried much longer, and I also stuck around there to observe that. I wish I would've stuck around longer to observe or been able to pop in more often but now I know I'm thankful I went with my gut-feeling and moved on. Employees should be looking out for all kids and should be calling out their coworkers when something isn't right. read more

I just started bringing my toddler here. I take my older son to Goddard. I love the school, but couldn't afford to bring my toddler too. My older boy didn't want to be and away from his little brother and quite frankly it's a bit of a hassle to drive two places on one morning when you're in a hurry! So, my older son will be starting in less than a month. So far My toddler has been adjusting well and enjoys his class. The teachers so far are really nice. Meals aren't included so packing lunch is a must, but they do include snacks. This school is great for lower income families such as myself, but they don't seem to sacrifice quality for quantity. I would suggest this school to anyone who needs an affordable daycare. I'm very excited to see how my older son will like the school although he'll only need to go for a short time because he starts kindergarten soon!! read more

I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with Enchanted Castle so far. I put my son in daycare at 18 months. He had been home with me or a nanny before then, so I was of course nervous. They put my concerns at ease, and answered my (maybe excessive) questions with a smile. The ratio of kids to caregivers seems appropriate, and better than other spots we visited. The prices are super reasonable. Everyone I've encountered there seems kind, genuine and transparent; I feel like my kiddo is safe and well cared for while I'm at work. Whenever I visit, it really seems like the kids are having fun. They post activity and snack schedules, so I know what my guy is up to during the day. They send home "creative expressions" and treats for holidays. They have a locked door with a code at the main entrance, and use a fingerprinting mechanism for pick up and drop off. They have electronic auto pay, which is very convenient. Lastly, I'm always impressed by the ladies at the front desk - they know everyone's names! There are lots of different age groups and tons of kids, but it's clear that they care for each and every one. read more

My child attended this daycare for about 3 years. From 3 until 5, when she graduated to start kindergarten. We started going here after problems with another daycare in Sparks. The price was a little higher but you certainly get what you pay for at the Enchanted Castle! They have some really great teachers and administrators here! On the rare occasion that we had a problem that we couldn't address with the teacher, the director here always had her door open and would help us to handle any problem we may be having. Any issue I ever had was immediately resolved and my mind put at ease. I can't say enough about how great the administrative staff here is! The quality of the teachers was also great! There are some great teachers here who really care about the well being of my child as well as her educational development. They would always give me a run down at the end of each day to how my child's day went. I always felt at ease each day leaving my child in the care of these wonderful people. With all that being said I'm going to have to say the most important part about me giving the Enchanted Castle 5 stars is the educational curriculum that they offer. They don't just babysit, they actually teach. My daughter went into kindergarten knowing how to read, write, and do math at a level that far exceeds what a kindergartener's academic skill set should be. We were even told by the teacher who administered my child's kindergarten placement test that most of the children that she had tested who had come from the Enchanted Castle were Advanced academically compared to children who went to other preschools. I feel like the staff at Enchanted Castle really helped prepare my daughter for kindergarten in the three years that she went there. They really know how to make learning fun for your preschooler! Enchanted Castle is by far the best place to take your little ones!!!! It was very tough for me to go back to work and drop off my first child in the hands of people I do not know very well. They made the experience absolutely wonderful!!!! I was able to call and check on my son all day if I wanted to. Now my son, Luke, has been attending Enchanted Castle for well over a year. All of the teachers are absolutely wonderful and they treat Luke like he is their own! Stacey is always refreshing so early in the morning every time you walk through the door!! Very happy and always smiling!!! They all know everyone by name and you feel as though you are part of a family there!! I feel very much at ease dropping Luke off in the mornings as I know he will be so well taken care of!!!! We will have to have another child at some point just so we can keep attending Enchanted Castle!! read more

My little one started 3 weeks ago at 3 months old at Enchanted Castle and I am so happy that I waited it out to get my daughter into this daycare! The girls in the "baby" room are always fun and smiling, they notice and talk about the little things my daughter does which assures me she's getting the attention every parent wants their littles to have! I have gone in to check up randomly several times and I am always happy to see my daughter is being well taken care of. The girls work with my daughter on HER schedule as it's so hard at my daughters age to really know what every day is going to bring. With so many babies, I am SHOCKED at the attention to detail surrounding my daughter and her care. Every afternoon when I pick her up I am greeted with her daily report that shows her feedings, naps, diaper changes (which I LOVE that they check diapers every hour but won't waste your diapers if they don't need a change!), etc. and a little summary from one of the girls about her day, like if she was gassy or cranky, or she struggled to fall asleep. They work with her at her level, she does tummy time and she loves to play on the floor and look around at everything that is happening. I look forward to her continuing at Enchanted Castle. As a nervous mama who works full time, I am more than thrilled with how any issue or concern I have expressed has been handled. Let me preface this review by saying my experience has not just been based on the 5 min spent dropping off/picking up my son. I visit EVERY single day during my lunch and spend at least an hour inside the classroom, and have been able to personally witness the interactions between the teachers and children. So I can very confidently say, Enchanted Castle is hands down THE BEST daycare, it is absolutely amazing! Literally, everything you could ask for in a daycare...caring, sweet, kind teachers, a clean, organized environment, secure, great curriculum AND affordable! We switched my son from kindercare, the difference is unbelievable. I would also visit during my lunches and always left feeling unsettled, and concerned my son wasn't receiving the care he needed. I never doubt the level of care at Enchanted Castle. Also, my son was constantly getting sick at kindercare, and has not been sick one time since switching to Enchanted Castle. They thoroughly clean everything daily! The entire operation is overseen by the owner, Renee (who happens to be a retired school teacher). She has extremely high standards in the staff she hires and how each classroom is ran and it shows! My son has been enrolled in the infant program for several months now and I truly feel blessed to have found such an amazing daycare. I just can't say enough about the teachers, it is very apparent they genuinely love and care for each of the children in their classroom. It is so sweet to see my sons face light up each time he sees Alejah, Angela, Brittany or Gloria, the amazing teachers that care for him everyday. My daughter went to this daycare for 2 years and in that time she was left unattended in a bathroom for over 25-30 min because we came into the room and found her with her pants around her ankles in the bathroom with door closed and all kids and teachers outside. We waited and waited and no one came in. After confronting them they lie to the ladies in the office and say she was only unattended for 5-10 min tops. She has come home with head injuries and per there policy all head injuries a parent must be called yet we weren't until we confronted the ladies in the office several times over the past two years. The teachers will tell you one thing but the ladies in the front will say something different. We kept our cool and didn't follow through with the child endangerment that they clearly did while the teachers were outside laughing and talking not even noticing my daughter wasn't outside with them. When confronted the teachers were shocked to see her come running out. Now we're are getting an e-mailed message saying that she is no longer welcome there because teachers are saying that we are talking bad about them and talking to other parents. This is a chicken shit way to say goodbye to a child. Then for them to lie and say it's your word against ours. I wonder how they will like a lie detector test issued to all parties. read more
