We had water damage from leaking pex plumbing and our homeowner's insurance assigned Onkar Builders to repair our house. They did a first rate repair job to the point that the repairs are indistinguishable from the original work. My only minor complaints are that the communication between the workers and office could be better, and I would have liked to have seen the painters remove switch plates and towel racks to paint rather than tape them up and have splashes of paint on them. read more

We hired Onkar builders to remodel our kitchen after getting a few quotes, they were by far the most competitive price! They started work in the beginning of December 2019 and were scheduled to finish by Christmas, however the job was not fully completed until end of January 2020. It did take longer than expected, which is one reason I didn't give a 5 star review. However, part of that extended time was due to some changes in staffing and having to redo some of the work. I am pretty detailed and particular about how I wanted things and Bill and the employees were more than happy to fix things when they were not quite right to me. They even came back twice after job completion once when my facet was lose in Feb. 2020 and again in June 2020 when my stovetop was sliding around a bit. I was warned from the very beginning not to use Onkar whom my insurance company referred. Day one Bill did not show up to give me the estimate (I left work early for) it wasn't until I called and gave them a piece of my mind for not being timely he came out on the next schedule date timely and very apologetic. It has been a year now my second Thanksgiving Christmas and New Year with no kitchen. Everyone always wants to point the finger to one another on why things didn't get done. My husband and I met with Bill, Sophia and Tim to discuss my kitchen, my husband was very clear he wanted the same quality hardwood as what was in the kitchen. In fact Bill walked us through his shop and told my husband and myself we would get the same quality cabinets. A year later I had to send a email asking if I was ever going to be a priority and of course I received a email from Sophia trying to blame me. (Poor customer service) then all of a sudden my cabinets we getting installed. My husband came home before I did to find they used particle board cabinets. Not quality at all, my husband asked Bill how this compares to what we had. Bill tried to blame me saying I knew what I was getting because the cabinet maker told me. I could not believe the insult knowing I know the difference. The cabinet maker NEVER told me what he was using when he came out to measure the only thing I heard from him is how Sophia lies a lot! (Again very unprofessional) After my husband spoke will Bill we ended up getting the better quality cabinets. But here I am still waiting for the completion of my kitchen, doors need adjusting still missing a door as well as the glass in two doors my appliances are still disconnected and in the middle of my kitchen. I was told by Gilbert the cabinet maker he would be back out Wednesday (today) at 8a same time as Monday, but as usual no call no show. But let me be clear Sophia and Billing dept. have no problem reaching out for final payment. I did let them know let's focus on getting my kitchen completed first! This is all just the kitchen not even speaking about my flooring. My biggest regret ever. Definitely wished this would have been a better experience would have loved to leave a great review but instead here I am in total disbelief. I had to cancel Onkar for completing this job as it only got worse. After I pointed out all the issues they done my final I'm lice was more then the last. I spoke with Bill the contractor the morning after I posted my review ( I didn't post the review out of malice, I was using Yelp and Onkar Builders popped up I read a review and saw it mentioned Bill so I knew it was the same company). He apologized for any miscommunication and didn't know we weren't happy with how the total job went. He said he has many new workers and things are good. After reading Nav's post about the job I didn't even realize the insurance had been that slow. I apologize for the difficulty of my insurance. Bill from Onkar Builders was very professional and ensured my repairs inside my home were done well. The contractors replaced some damaged drywall from the New Years Eve storm of 2023. They repainted my walls and replaced my base boards and door panels. The result was good as knew and looked exactly the way it did before the water damage. My kitchen had a water leak that really damaged my beautiful hardwood floor and my oak cabinets. I ended up having the walls down to studs because asbestos was found in the damaged walls and all the cabinets removed. Onkar worked deligently with the mitigator and the insurance company to make sure my kitchen would be as good or better than what i had. Onkar stands behind their work, they were quick to fix any problems along the way. I love my new kitchen. The cabinets were custom to my specific needs. There workers fucked up installing my countertops for my kitchen and bathrooms. redoing them several times. Estimate needed for house repairs. Tree fell on house and caused severe damage to roof, fence, gutters and other areas. Gentlemen named Bill came to do estimate and was there for maybe 10 minutes total. When he left I asked if he even got on the roof to look at damages and he stated "I saw it but no I didn't go on roof". I received estimate three days later that included roof repair. How do you even know the extent of damage when you didn't even look? The only thing positive I will say-is the communication prior to the appointment regarding scheduling. I don't feel that it was a thorough estimate and do not feel comfortable with this company. read more

I had insurance claim for water damaged floors. Through my insurance company and their preferred vendors network, Onkar got the job initially. When they came to measure, they sent Bill and a young man in training. When I had the floors installed, the total square footage plus 10% extra was 1,100 square feet. The estimate provided for over 1,500 square feet of replacement material. Seems like a shady over-estimate, but not my field of expertise, so I didn't question it. I picked out materials and paint color a week before they sent the Contract package. When they sent me the Contract package with a price tag of over $36,000, I had some questions (like why no scope of work was described in the contract, and why they didn't specify the materials I selected). I spoke to the office manager, who was so annoyed that I was asking questions, that she refused to work with me! They have now set me back by almost two months in starting repairs, but I am relieved not to have to be working with them, especially now that I have read other people's disappointing reviews. If your insurance company recommends Onkar Builders, I suggest that you ask for another preferred vendor. read more

Very professional Team, this is the second time I have used their service both projects they arrived on time, meet their schedule, and quoted price. Bill was very accurate with his quoting both times they were comparable with other contractors. Last year I had an upstairs water leak that ruined my down stairs ceiling, walls, and floors. After the drying out phase was complete, Bill and his team started work within one week they had sheet rocked and painted taken out my old floors and replaced them we were able to have thanksgiving at our place. I contacted Bill to have some lighting install in my family room, kitchen and entry hall. The electrician was out the same day, Monday Bill call me with a quote Tuesday they were in and completed the job in a few hours 12 recessed lights.
