There are OTA campuses all over the world, but this is the only one that gives you the opportunity to take a selfie with the "Wall Street Bull" (which is right down the street in the same block) and on the steps of what most people think is the NYSE (it's actually the Federal Memorial Building; the NYSE is a heavily guarded building on the other side of the plaza without a main entrance). I have taken several classes here and have always been impressed with the instructors and staff. Today I attended "Graduate Give Back", a free event where a visiting instructor shared his trading tips with a packed house. It's true the building (though not the OTA space) is a bit long in the tooth and there are rumors they're going to move soon. I just completed the Core Strategy class at the Brooklyn center, and my only disappointment is that I didn't enroll sooner. The education and the strategies are real, and I can already see how to implement them. I can't wait to keep it going. My only caution is that you cannot look at this as your lottery ticket. The education takes work, and practice. If you walk in to the class and expect for the instructor to just put the knowledge in your head, then you're making a mistake. You need to put the time and effort in - not just when you're in the class, but continuously. But if you're ready to put the time and effort in, and want to take control of your money and investments, I couldn't recommend this high enough. read more

This place is just like being in an infomercial, where they spend time attempting to convince the audience that trading forex and futures will allow most people to change their lifestyle, have a steady income, no longer have to work, etc etc etc. - with little or limited risk. They market the initial workshop as a "Class", so while you can infer that something will be sold at the end, you'd expect to learn something (perhaps a little taste of a good strategy they utilize, to entice you to come back and pay up for the full course later and solidify learnings). Instead, the entire time is a flawed sales pitch (vacation time share style), given by enthusiastic salesmen that follow a strict script (saw one of those laying around), and who attempt to embed props such as their families, world traveling and flashing their rolex watches, to convince you they live the perfect life - and you can too. (Nothing against the salesmen - as everyone needs to make a living - just oppose the way this is done) Unfortunately many people, some of which somewhat uninformed and living paycheck to paycheck, fall for the sales pitch and put money down for another "workshop" where chances are you will learn little to nothing, and they will definitely prime you for selling you yet another course which will "change your life". If you ask, they will tell you that at the end of the next 3-day workshop, they will offer you other, significantly more expensive training classes. Do your research, and ask plenty of questions such as what are the courses they intend to sell you and how many courses / tuition fees will be spent until you can truly learn and trade those instruments for a living. Bottom line is that there is a chance the actual course you pay for is legitimate, and you might learn something from the team. However, it will definitely not be fool proof as they put it, and unlikely to become a candidate for your sole source of income, otherwise, they would not have these salesmen - they would all be living off of their trades (this is, by the way, the same analogy utilized by their sales staff to criticize investment book authors). But given the somewhat unethical method that this company utilizes to get students in classrooms, I am not one to find out how good or bad the next course is. Are you? read more

WHAT A SCAM!! You're talked into a 3 day "course" which is merely a 3 day sales pitch, and then you're pressured on the 3rd day to hand over $10K for a 7 day course....WHATTT!! They'll make a deal with you (because every education that's ever been worth it has made a deal ....but only for you....of course)! If you decline they will try and undermine and insult you, maybe even tell stories about you know those "other" people who didn't sign up LOL. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!! When they feel your gullible they'll stay on top of you and follow up with all sorts of silly plans and meetings they want to make sure they don't lose you, its 10-25K+ if they do (yes I really said $10K). The whole program is $50-60K, but of course if you act now its $35K (a series of 7 day and online classes. They'll talk about 401K's and other retirement plans most companies offer and how they (the retirement companies) are out for themselves; how they let your money just sit there and hope its worth something by the time you retire...again don't fall for it! NOT EVERYWHERE AND NOT EVERY BROKER/MONEY MANAGER. Don't let some market fluctuation and their manipulation convince you they know better, this is impossible use your brain. They go after the type of people they can convince into this get rich quick scheme. The people who are living pay check to pay check, union workers and those they know don't know any better. It's horrible because those are the people who can't afford these schemes. This is the vicious cycle of keeping the poor...poor by telling them they can out smart or follow Morgan Stanley's trading habits. If they could outsmart and/or follow Morgan Stanley why aren't they? It's horrible because they will make you believe their just like you....but their also predators. Look at the people who are in the free session with you and the 3 day course. Are there any Goldman Sachs traders/employees there? If you work hard for your money then work even harder spending and saving it correctly. This is not to say some good traders don't work here (i honestly have no idea) they can tell you whatever they want; it's just HIGHLY unlikely your going to be one of them. Remember people have spent years and money (lots of it) studying this stuff and working in the markets for a 7 day course to be the holy grail. Even if they told me it was a year long course I don't buy it!! If this place was so great why aren't there more testimonials on Yelp (besides the guy who works there G T) and the BBB. Why aren't more people buzzing about this place? Look at the whole picture before handing over $10K, do your research!! If it worked more people NOT like you and I would be there, but their not!! Do not register for this class! This is a shifty organization. You do not want them to have your contact information or they will not leave you alone. Not an organization that you want to be involved with, especially if it involves money. I registered for a free half day class and canceled it because of how aggressive they were in confirming the appointment. Something seemed off. After canceling the class, I recieved a call 10 minutes later to confirm the class. I again reiterated the cancellation and they assured me they would remove me from their list. Every week since they automatically sign me up for another class (without my doing) and call to confirm my attendance, so they can "save my seat before the class fills up," a fishy sales tactic for a class I didn't sign up for. They say they will cancel my attendance and remove me from their list but instead re-enroll me in the following week's class. You cannot escape them!!! My advice is to not let them into your life in the first place, and do not register for any classes or they will relentlessly harass you. I feel sorry for the people who attended the class and were likely exposed to more of their shifty behaviors. Please save yourself and steer clear of this organization. read more

My experience at the Brooklyn campus and enrolling into the academy was the best decision I ever made in my life. Even thou I had many ups and downs in trading and learning how the put everything together to understand the concept of trading, I'm still very proud of the progress I've made throughout my entire time at the academy along with the help and support I've received from many instructors who's class I've taken and met at the grad events and the student support specialist who's really amazing. I was on the fence about Joining OTA like most of you I read just as many great reviews as poor ones. What gives, which ones can I trust, which ones are simply endorsed. I was able to make up my mind the second day of the three-day intro class. And what really caught my attention is Proactive Investor, after I understood what that was about I realized if I want to put away money for retirement it is crucial that I take that class. Furthermore, I realized that if I am to continue with the stock market, it is crucial that I understand how to manage my risk, understand the most opportune entry and exit. Otherwise, I will continue losing my money on the market. That again is worth the price of admission. Finally, the staff and instructors are extremely patient, and really take the time to explain complex concepts that are novel to a lot of investors. So far I completed the Core Strategy, and that alone was worth the money. I am looking forward to taking Proactive Investor next, and next Stock Options. Finally, the community in this program is another reason to consider the program. You will not be left stranded after you complete the class, and will be able to continue learning through quality videos associated with your program, and the community of students. SCAM! This place is not worth it! I paid $300 to attend a seminar and got pressured to hand over $14,000.

I'm going to start with the good, and then the bad. FIRST THE GOOD: They teach you a patented rule-based system that works. For example, we watched the instructor make a $2,000 profit in 30 seconds on a live future trade using exactly what he taught in the class. If you're a novice like me, you learn everything you need to know about trading including market terminology, chart analysis, trend analysis, curve analysis, entry types, order types, exit types, risk management, trade management, and the software platform. The education is well-organized, and the coaches and staff are very friendly and helpful. I would give it 5 stars if the in-class instruction was better paced and if the online videos were a little more thorough and in-depth, which I'll elaborate on below, but first let me address the 1-star reviews. What a bunch of idiots. This school is in no-way a scam. They trust their system so much that they let you trade on their own money in class. As far as the tuition cost, the total amount is based on how many asset classes you're signing up for. So for example if you're only taking futures and that's it, then your tuition will be less than someone who's taking a combination of futures, forex, options, and equities. Everybody starts with 1 week of core strategy, followed by 1 week for each asset class. You also pay for XLTs (Extended Live Trainings) and Pro-Picks. Basically XLTs are where you go online and learn from a professional trader who's trading live with real money and showing you exactly how to apply core strategy and technical analysis. This is every single day. And pro-picks is where you copy their trades. That's also every day. And it's available for life at no additional costs. You can't get more value than that. And you don't pay for everything all at once. They let you finance it over 2 years, and they're very flexible with the down payment. You can get started with as little as $100 down payment and $300 per month. You tell them what you need, and they'll work with you. They're not going to overcharge you. Anybody who calls it a scam is out of their mind and being dishonest. NOW THE BAD: I debated on whether or not to give this 3-stars or 4-stars. But on the strength of the staff's friendliness and how well organized the education is, I decided to give it 4-stars. But I could easily have given this a 3-stars, because they need to do a much better job with the instruction. What they're teaching is perfect. It's HOW they're teaching it that I have a problem with. They start you off with 15 online instructional videos about their core strategy. They tell you to watch the videos before attending the 1st week of in-class instruction. However, the 1st 2 days of in-class instruction covers the same exact material as the videos. I was expecting the in-class instruction to be more in-depth and offer more ninja tips, but instead, the teacher literally re-taught everything you learned in the videos as if he's not aware that you watched the videos. So I'm not sure if that's by design or if it was a miscommunication between the instructor and the school. The remaining 5 days of class was using the software and doing trades. As far as the videos, the problem I have with the videos is that each of them are very short, like 5 or 10 minutes. So you're not getting a whole lot of in-depth material. You're getting only a brief cursory understanding. Sure, you don't need an hour to understand candles, but you do need an hour to understand curve and trend analysis. For example, the video on pivots and swings was so brief, that I had to go on YouTube for examples and to understand it better. They should add more value to their videos by making them longer and more in-depth. The other thing I don't like about the videos is that they're formatted for only half-screen even when you choose full screen. So you can barely see anything. They need to reformat their videos for modern device resolutions. I had Matt Gildea for in-class instruction. Matt is a very knowledgeable professional trader and a very nice guy. But he does a poor job on pacing. He took an entire hour just to introduce himself and talk about his travels and his experience, but then dragged through the material on the outline. By the end of the class, he was no where near the end of the outline and started rushing to catch up and skipping over stuff, and even then he still didn't catch up. Then the next day, he wasted about 30 minutes going over what he taught yesterday. Dude... you're BEHIND FREAKING SCHEDULE.. catch the hell up!!!! Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the school and the education, and I would HIGHLY recommend it to someone who's looking to get started in trading. And I look forward to taking my classes, but PLEASE... STAY THE HELL ON PACE WITH THE OUTLINE!!!!! read more

I love the Brooklyn Campus of the Online Trading Academy and it feels like home to me. From the moment I was introduced to the program it made sense to me and I was excited to learn how to trade like the professionals. I am still very excited and I understand that it is going to take time and effort to understand really understand and grasp all there is to learn about trading like the pros. The system being used at the Academy is patented and if applied appropriately will yield positive results. I consider my Online Trading Academy tuition to be an investment in myself because I have been working very hard for over 26 years for an institution that has been investing in itself I am fully aware that at the end of the day the institution can terminate me whenever it chooses. Knowing this fact, I would rather work harder at learning to trade for myself and invest in my success. I know it is not going to be easy as I have to balance my time working from 9 to 5 and finding the time to work on my trading success. Starting anything at first takes a considerable amount of time but as time progresses, momentum is gained and less time and effort is require to maintain the balance. Napolean Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich rightly states that you can not get something for nothing. Everything cost, whether it cost you time, money, peace of mind, sleep, effort, energy sanity, etc. it will cost you. So the question is what are you willing to pay tor your financial freedom? The choice is yours and only yours this program will not be for everyone and that is ok. For those who are in the program, it might appear to be overwhelming at first to grasp the new concepts but with much practice in the beginning it will be worth it in the end. As someone who already had some experience as a novice trader, I eventually got to the point where I knew that in order for me to become a consistent and profitable trader I would need proper education. You will not get rich quick. Repeat. You will not get rich quick. The sales people may infer that, but it's not true. OTA provides a decent education but there are some major problems. 1- They admit students who should never be in the class: people who do not understand what a stock is, cannot grasp concepts like bid, ask and spread. These poor people spend thousands of dollars and learn nothing, they slow the class down for the more experienced and generally provide a hopes-and-dreams-dashed sadness to the atmosphere. There should be two classes: one for newbies and one for more experienced people. 2- They need to be upfront with the fact that most day traders do not consistently make money. Those that do have to spend months of disciplined study to figure out how to do so. Also, money makes money. If you have a $10,000 trading account you will not have the resources to live off of trading full time. 3- The classes have too many students. read more

A terrible place that wasted me three hours on a Friday morning!!! The presentation was merely a marketing and sales pitch to get one to sign up for a three day classes. There wasn't much substance and contents in terms of trading. They gave millions of examples of how much profit was made in one day in various trades but nearly none about how much money can be lost as well. A bold and short sales guy in pink shirt approached saying that I was mostly paying attention to my lab top. I quite honestly told him that I had to put in some trades for the day while listening to the presentation. He told me that I wasn't allowed to trade there because of "liability issue". I told him "sorry but I just traded" and he walked away. The only way I will pay is if they offer a straight forward course teaching Supply and Demand zone method with efficiency. They ought to understand that time is money and should try harder not to waste time of others. Don't waste your time and money going to this awful place. It has been a year now and I have no regrets nor any reservations in recommending OTA. I only wish I had known about this way of making money years ago. There is a learning curve and you need to be honest with yourself but if you are, they are there to help you. I have been at the NYC center for live courses and have taken online retakes. They will answer any questions you have and help you analyze what you are doing. What makes me smile is that you can "pester" them and they not only don't mind but encourage it. I work in finance and I can tell you they don't teach you any of this stuff in college. OTA teaches you the critical basics of what you need to know regardless of whether you are having your money managed, you're looking to self-manage or day trade. Going through at least the basic courses at OTA should be a mandatory step in your life education. Period. The initial workshop is free, lasts about 3 hours. Then you have the opportunity to enroll in a 3 day course which gives you an overview of the basics and the different courses they have to offer in each asset class. Further education may or may not be right for you, depending on your situation. Obviously, not everyone is well-suited to be actively involved in the markets. The team there offers good support in counseling you on the pros and cons of each class, on scheduling and the respective time commitment etc. There's a wall of fame for the instructors and they're all credentialed. That was one of my big concerns... who are these people? If they're so successful, why do they teach? Well, a lot of these guys do 1 or 2 classes per month and they all have to have their trading statements submitted and scrutinized every year. If they're not profitable, they don't get to teach. My guess is that life probably gets boring when you're sitting in front of a computer all day and teaching a few days here and there probably keeps them from going crazy. If I'm working from home for more than 1 week, I go nuts. They've got some pretty big name instructors that are well-known on the Street. The negatives: in the first few classes (workshop and 3 day) you get people from all walks of life and varied trading experience if any at all. I guess this is unavoidable but for someone with trading experience, it can be annoying. Try and be patient because you may hear a lot of dumb questions, like "what is a stock?". You also get some people who think they can "learn it all" in just the workshop or 3 day and try and educate you on what THEY know. If you were doing so well, what are you doing here in class?? This is like any other skill, it takes hard work and discipline so don't kid yourself, this is not easy. It's education, not magic beans, you'll get what you put into it. read more

Those three days are designed such as the so called advisor to push you into buying their classes which cost $100k, discounted to $52k! But the my story is: My friend invite me to online trading class for 3 hour free presentation. I though that it's a good idea and why not to try to learn something new. So we came. Employees there and instructions there were very nice and friendly to us. Instructor explained some trading stuff and at the end of the class they offer for us to sign in for 3 day class which is $299 and is on sale now and you have to sign in today only, because it's on sale and in another day it usually cost $1000. Sounds already suspicious doesn't it? So my friend said to me that he knows basic concepts and doesn't want go for that. I signed. When I came on a first day of education I expected to learn a lot but didn't. 1st day was again presentation and mostly force to get there course but not push too much to not make u suspicious person and only like 20% education. At least something. Every time you have a break special instructor prepare u for buying there stuff but step by step. He speaks with you in his room privately. He also prepare u with your goal plan. Asking you how much money have and you make weekly. Don't even tell them that info. Say you are broken. I made a mistake and told that have some money. By the way our teacher was such a nice lady and explains very good everything. I think she is a real pro but not sure if she makes a lot of money. That day they gave us a book with their prices 2nd day. Some explanations about trading. Mostly concepts from YouTube. And again sales sales sales and encourage to risk to do it. I called my friend and told him the prices He said, that is scam and don't buy it. I didn't believe him and was about to buy. But. I decided to google it during the class. A lot of reviews were about rip off and nothing even close to earn. I became suspicious and still wanted to sign in for trading. On one of the breaks my instructor called and asked me so what have I decided to take. I said that for 23k I wanna but don't have the money and can make small deposit only. He said that I need to do it today and only today. We can finance u but for short period of time. Of course they can I said ok but went out to main studying room. He didn't come to me that day anymore. I went home and Google again. I decided not to buy.... I read one review where Indian guy said that when he said to instructor that he decided not to take that course he changed instantly and told him that he is out. I didn't believe in that comment....till the my turn. 3rd. Some info about trading. Like 35%. Here everybody in a class should tell their life story that day. About people in the class: mostly poor guys without a penny in a pocket trying to find gold and fairy tail in that place and Only 10% rich people who want to invest their money. Teacher will show a lot of fairy tail stuff. Like mails from students making $700k in 6 months. I was impressed. Who will not? Specially when u are a beginner. About instructors. Most of them wearing cheap clothes. I don't know why if they make a lot of money and take a vacation like 14 times a year. Nobody showed us real trading with real money. Only similarity on platform. Ask them to show their statements. 2 main instructors were training students in room around a corner. They look like 2 nerds whom they cut balls or made wash brain. My friend in a class whom I met there try to ask one of instructors about making money there. He didn't tell him anything good or bad. Basically he didn't receive what he wanted to know. finally instructor called me and here everything went what I was expecting to hear. What did u decide? He asked. I said no and explain why. He didn't like my thoughts and said it directly to me. You are not a trader. You done. I was shocked. He said that wanted to offer to me their deal. I said lets see. $23000 and I can make a payment of $1000 a month but need a deposit. I said ok. But I asked what guarantee what I will make money? Where is no guarantee in this world my friend. LOL. I have had a terrific experience with OTA. I enrolled in the Futures and Options Classes in NYC, and have taken classes in Both NYC and Long Island. I have been trading successfully for 2 years based on the great education I received. Considering that I would have the opportunity to learn from traders, who have traded on the floor of the stock exchanges the opportunity was invaluable. This is school. This is not a get rich quick thing. This takes a monetary and mental commitment. School is school. You cannot expect to reap the rewards if you do not do the work. Just like college, there is Pre-work that you have to do before starting the classes, there is homework, and you need to pay attention and take notes in class. OTA's platform is extremely user friendly and allows you to continually expand your knowledge. The student support team is fantastic. They all trade as well, and my student support people started as students at OTA, so they can relate to each stage of growth a student is at. I cannot say enough about OTA and I am so grateful that I took this opportunity as it has completely changed my ability to earn a living without having to work for someone else. My quality of life is incredibly better because I can come and go as I please and make money from anywhere in the world as long as I have a computer to trade. I'm giving this a 4 out of 5 because nothing in life is perfect. But once it becomes a life changer, of course I wouldn't mind giving it 5 stars lol. I'm still a student and in the learning process, so far i enjoy all their educational materials and I'm watching their online classes which they call XLT's. I'm only about one month in and i know there's a learning process. All the staff have been straight up and honest/ kind that there is no 100% guarantee. Which is true because the only guarantees in life are unfortunately death and taxes. That's what investing is about, you have to take a risk. Its true that this is not for everyone. The tuition is not cheap. The learning curve also differs for different people, some learn faster than others. So, six - eight months from now I'll have to update this post to see my results. Looking forward to giving this 5 stars.
