I visit different medical practices and doctors affiliated with Henry Ford such as My Family Physician, OBGYN, Optical, Orthopedic & Dermatology Physicians on a yearly check up basis and when I am ill. My review is for a Family Medicine & Primary Care Practice located at 51221 Schoenherr Rd., Suite 201 in Shelby Township, MI. 48315. My records at this medical practice are from visits in December 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 with health check ups or health issues. This Family Medicine provides a wide range of Primary services plus Video Visits, COVID-19 testing, blood work, weight management. I am also a member of "My Chart" with Henry Ford which is wonderful to access on line with Non - Urgent visits, or prescription refills in which I can email my doctor and she will reply back within 24 hours in a text chat message system. My Chart also keeps a record of my visits, test results, doctor reports, billing, and appointments. "My Chart" will also send Me reminders to schedule my yearly Mammogram and Bone Density Tests two months prior from the previous year. My Doctor is Kristen E. Kavanagh, DO who is understanding by using her medical knowledge, showing concern and needed professionalism with great advice and care in her field. This office also has blood testing instead of an outside Lab. If Dr. Kavanagh is unavailable I can also rely on her PA: Angela T. Wilson who shows the same strong professionalism as well. Dr. Anthony L. Cardellio is available as my 3rd choice in this Family Medicine Practice and I have not seen him for my past medical care. This place is very organized and thorough. They mailed me a packet, detailing how to prepare for the procedure. They also texted me a few days before, reminding me what to do, and what time my appointment was. I appreciated all the tips for preparation and the do's and dont's. From start to finish, everything is well organized, efficient, and timely. Check in is easy and they even offered to give me information about a living will and medical directives, since I didn't have things like that in place. I've been meaning to do it and wasn't sure where to start and the packet of information was really helpful. They are very thorough explaining the procedure, anesthesia, risks, and all the paperwork you are signing. Cell phones are discouraged so I didn't take any photos, and I appreciated that devices were not allowed in the waiting room and entire facility. Masks are optional. Due to the anesthesia, you need someone to drive you and your driver must be on the premises at all times. Dr. Jacob is so nice! She saw me before the procedure and explained a lot and put me at ease. She spoke with me afterwards too, to go over results and follow up information. This was my first time with anesthesia and my anesthesiologist, Natalie, was very friendly and told me what to expect. She really put me at ease as well. I was put in a hospital bed and wheeled around to where I needed to go. Suzanne was fabulous, got me settled in, and went over my medical history and some forms. My clothes were kept in a bag, and they even had a special place to keep my glasses safe during the procedure. They hung up my mask too, to keep it clean. Marissa and Lisa were the two nurses in the room during my procedure and they introduced themselves right away and were wonderful. The procedure was easy. I don't remember anything. When I woke up, Shellie was waiting for me with water to drink and checking in to see how I was feeling. My mom was in the recovery room with me and that was very nice. (I was asked ahead of time if I wanted my family member with me in recovery and I said yes). It was nice to have my mom in there to listen to things too because I was still a bit out of it. I was in excellent hands here, from start to finish. It was a very positive experience and I highly recommend coming here.

This man in a blue jacket met me at the front of the parking lot and driveway to guide me to where I needed to go for my PCR testing. My temperature is well under 98. Another woman came to collect my insurance and my ID card, while I filled out the paperwork. Filled out my paperwork by 9:05am. They have a lot of staff here. The same lad that took my ID came to collect my paperwork and to get back my ID. They told me to keep the pen, since it had been in my car. They take all precautions here and take the virus very seriously. They don't need a script here at all, no symptoms required either. My doctor had wanted to provide them with his script paperwork, so that they would provide the results to them directly. They can't and won't send to doctors at all before a procedure. I will have to pass it along myself. The nasal swab today was much more invasive than the first time I had it done. It was shoved it up so far and that it made my eyes flood with tears, that's way up there for sure. Quick and efficient service here for sure. Would get it done here anytime required again.
