I told the staff person that the letter I received from Estate Services at Bank of America said a copy of the death certificate was all that was needed. The staff person said he has worked at Bank of America for years and knows the policy and that an original death certificate was required. He wasn't even going to check with Estate Services about it, so I canceled the appointment. I called Estate Services and they confirmed that a copy of the death certificate was sufficient. Estate Services stated that they make the policy for Bank of America and not the branches and that they would call the Sherwood branch. Not sure that happened or not. The staff person at the Sherwood branch seems pretty arrogant and certainly not customer focused. He should have at least called Estate Services for me, but he did not even offer that. I am working now directly with Estate Services to get this trust issue resolved. They seem very customer service oriented as opposed to the Sherwood branch, which is not there for the customer. Based on this experience, I will take my banking business elsewhere. I do most of my banking at US Bank in Tualatin and they are very good there - very customer service oriented.

I was never contacted in advance... and he SMIRKED at the fact that my grandkids were begging neighbors for food. I am filing complaints as soon as I can get in contact with the appropriate State Agency... My account is still screwed up and my Daughter and grandchildren depend on my support. So now they are begging friends and neighbors for cash and promising that I will make good on the loans... and he SMIRKED... Now I must travel to a separate city (local branch has closed) and I am waiting for a friend to come over and give me a ride... Time to Change Banks...

A new credit Union is being built right across the street, for anyone looking to switch away from this bank. My personal experience: opened the acct because I received a promotion in the mail ($300 if you set up direct deposit). They don't print your debit card at the bank like most other Banks/credit unions I've been to, so I was told to go home and wait for my card in the mail. No big deal. 1) Few weeks goes by, no card, I'm going on vacation with no access to my funds, so I go in. Turns out no one ever ordered the cards to begin with. I was given checks, at a charge, to use during my vacation... 2)I received the occasional overdraft fee, no problem. If I spend money and fall short, I have no issue paying the overdraft fee(s) since the bank is doing me a solid covering my purchase. However... 3) I went to buy glasses and instead of charging me the agreed upon amount, the front desk person accidentally charged me 1.5X the amount I owed. I cancelled the purchase, but it was going to take time to get a refund, so I went to the bank. I spoke to someone (she said she was the manager) who said that if this overcharge causes me an overdraft, she can't guarantee she'd waive it, because "that's how the bank makes it's money." Though it was no fault of my own. 4) That brings me to today. Noticed the other day that I was overdrawn (been having medical emergencies this month). Had several pending charges, 2 of which went through already, but no overdraft fee had been assessed. So I went to the bank and put in enough money to bring my acct +$20 in the green. I'd made a cash deposit. Key Bank kept my deposit pending, then changed the overdraft fees for those two purchases, which then brought me back into the negative, THEN put all the other pending charges through, which then all received a ($38) overdraft fee each. You know how most Banks give you a day to become current before they charge a fee? Not Key. They will apply overdraft fees retroactively- AFTER you bring your account in good standing- which created a negative balance, then they put all the other pending charges through. Overall I now have like 8 or 9 overdraft charges. Went to the bank to talk to someone. I know the employees aren't responsible for the practices of the bank and would never talk down to/get rude with these people. HOWEVER, they absolutely do not operate the same way. The employee INSISTED that I made the deposit AFTER all the pending charges went through (though if they'd check their ATM history they'd see that's not the case) and would not listen when I explained how it really was. She then began talking down to me, saying I wouldn't be in this situation if I'd stop spending money I didn't have- which sounds reasonable, except for the fact that the bank arranged withdraws/deposits in a way that they could CREATE several additional overdraft fees. This person talked down to me, was rude to me, unkind, and unhelpful. I don't appreciate the attitude when I'm being nothing but kind. There's several other interactions I've had with this bank, theyve all been unpleasant. I'm going going back to my credit union, where they talk to me like an adult.

I've been trying to place a wire to pay off my mortgate. The online wire transaction got cancelled even after confirming with someone on the phone and they said it done. I called and re-initiated the wire by phone. They were supposed to call me to confirm but I missed the call. After calling for several hours I tried to go into the branch to see if there was anything they could do. {Insert Jay here} He called on my behalf. Talk through several layers of beaurcracy. Seemed to make progress but when I was put on the phone with the someone from the east coast they started to ask for all this reverification (like my account number which I don't have memorized). WhenI pointed out I was standing in their branch and this call was initiatied by the branch....she responded "how do I know that". So they couldn't confirm/complete the transaction. So now I'm waiting for the call back from the original person to get this transaction through before it self cancels. I understand the need for security but its inconvenient and frustrating the customer US Bank. When the dust settles I have to go relook to see I'm being charged for all these transactions that didn't go through and ultimately I'm looking for a new bank. All these fees to process my own money is crazy.
