Very clean and modern. Some of the stores do get very busy and you do have to wait. One tip is to order on the kiosk to pick up your order to cut through the line. Overall, it's a great place to stop as you move to your final destination. read more

7:50 in the evening. BK closed, NY Fries, closed, Popeyes, closed. Only thing open is Tim Hortons and their racks are almost empty. Other than Timmy's, everything is only open from 1100-1900! 8 hours a day on one of the busiest stretches of highway in North America. Small wonder these restaurants only last a few years and then have to shut down! Whoever runs these "service plazas" should be fired for allowing companies to sign really crappy contracts! read more

Note: This review applies to the Woodstock ONRoute (eastbound), and does not apply to the Ingersoll stop (westbound). This is just your typical ONRoute rest stop. Way better than the rest stops some states have to offer. The ONRoute rest stops in my opinion best parallel the Illinois Travel Oasis stops the Chicago area offers off some Interstate highways. Food and drink wise, you've got Tim Hortons (of course) and Starbucks as usual. New York Fries and Burger King also have a presence here. There is also a small gift/souvenir shop that sells "quick bites" such as candy and sandwiches you can heat up. Again, pretty typical for what you'd expect out of a travel centre. Do note that the lines at this location tend to be quite long if you are travelling during the day, especially the line for Tim Hortons. Also, not surprisingly, the prices here are a bit on the high side. The good news is, free WiFi is available here. I never needed to use it because I was only here for a short time, but it's always nice to have such a convenience. For the most part, the facility is kept well clean, especially the main area where the food, drinks, small shops and eating areas are. Every time I have stopped here, the cleanliness in the washrooms has been quite inconsistent. Sometimes, the washrooms would be spotlessly clean, and other times, they needed some more attention (hence my 4 star review). My review would be 5 stars if the washrooms could be kept consistently clean, however, I get this can be hard to do constantly because so many people come in and out off the notoriously busy Highway 401. All in all, this rest stop certainly won't wow me over, but it gets the job well done and I do leave feeling satisfied with my experience. 4 stars will do just fine. read more

Few years back, there were some news on social networks and Canadian media channels stating that those On-Routes will open up East-Side Mario locations on each stop along the 401! but this never seen the light since, I hope this would actually be true as the dining options on these spots are very poor. Even if choosing a famous brand/franchise, you'll still end up with a quality below average due to many obvious reasons being on the side of the highway, which might affect delivery items, required facilities, etc... hope this actually happens some day! read more

First thing to mention is I think some reviewers have this mixed up with another stop a few KM's away. This is not the one with the Wendy's, Esso, etc... I don't think anyone is going to be floored by their experience here, but it still deserves 5 stars since I can't really think of any rest stop places I've been to that are any better than this. This - and every other ON route I've been to, have a nice open design. Lots of seating, tall ceilings and a lot of natural light. There's free wifi which works well, and most importantly: the washrooms have always been super clean whenever I've been to this or any other location. Fairly standard fast food options, though this one is a little better having also a Starbucks with a Tim's, whereas some of the others only have a Tim's for coffee. I suppose it could be even better if they had one or two slightly more upscale choices, but IMO: save that for your vacation. Even the design of entering and exiting them from the highway is very convenient so you are not going to any lights, driving in town, etc... They even have a separate entrance for trucks which keeps safety and convenience at the forefront. It's basically a very clean, medium-sized food court off the side of the highway, but it does very well within this mandate. read more

During a long stretch drive from Detroit to Toronto on Highway 401, we made it a point to stop and use the facilities and Free Wi-Fi since our data plan was limited in Canada. This isn't your run of the mill rest stop. The facility is clean and well maintained. The Wi-Fi has solid signal strength. This location was one the busier ones we had stopped at. The center has a gas station, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Burger King, New York Fries, Eastside Marios, and a Market store. The farmers wrap I got had hard boiled eggs in it instead of the breakfast eggs. And they forgot my daughters drink. A good place to relax and take a small break while driving down to Toronto. They have major eateries - Tim Hortons, Burger King, Starbucks - and utility stores. This is for Burger King.... They only have self order. This is a touch screen monitor that every person has to fill for themselves. If you have a large family or even a small family the ordering process is next to impossible. I am sure it would be easy if you knew the menu and screen layout inside and out, similar to a BK employee, but if you do not then you should Keep on driving, the machine timed out twice for the guy ahead of me. A total joke... 3 BK employees standing there watching people struggle to order and offered zero assistance. I tried to order and gave up after two minutes. This is a pretty typical OnRoute (they really are all almost identical, as if someone in Ottawa just hit copy/paste on the 401,) and it has all the amenities that you expect if you've been to any of the others: A Tims with a drive-through, clean restrooms, and free wifi. This one has an extra added feature that I may have completely missed at other OnRoutes, or it may be relatively unique: There's a large picnic area attached to the OnRoute, where you can go park your car and have a nice lunch on a wide, grassy, tree-lined area. So, if you're traveling and perhaps need a big space for your kids to run around and burn off some energy, this OnRoute might be a good place to spend some extra time. read more

Traveling from Detroit to Niagara Falls we stopped at the On Route and tried New York Fries. I had a hot dog and an order of fries. The hot dog was plump, tasty and the chili I added tasted good too. The fries were home made and tasted quite decent. For a fast food treat, this is a pretty dang good one !!! read more

Paper receipts and liquid drops were spread on the counter. Overall Service declined very much. Great picnic area where you can let the pooches run (they get stir crazy in a car as well). Very clean...can get very busy during the holidays....not huge amounts of seating. Good food selections, even a Starbucks. On this particular visit, we went in and the Tim Hortons line-up was way too long to wait...so we decided to go back to the car and go through drive thru. Well...when we got up to the screen to order..there was a sign apologizing and stating that the drive thru was closed, to please go inside. Me thinks not. They should have blocked the way into the drive-thru, as when we pulled away from the sign, there were 2 cars behind us also going through the drive-thru.
