I could not even get to see a practitioner there, as the staff on the phone was abusive to me. I asked their manager to call me back, and she called back 10 days later, the night before my appointment, leaving zero information on my voice mail. When she finally called the morning of my appt, she finally left her contact info, then refused to answer or return my call to her. Imagine getting surgery or any procedure done by this people, then trying to get help, afterward, by calling. Terrifying. read more

Amazing office! Beautiful facilities and caring, knowledgeable staff. The doctors are amazing. I highly recommend this practice.

I was very satisfied with the Dr. he was impeccable, his demeanor, his knowledge and professionalism. He has a good reputation in the field too. My problem is with the customer service most of the time it was ok. Usually when I had a bad experience I ignored it, but this last time was very unacceptable the young woman who answered the phone was unprofessional, rude and had no phone etiquette at all. I don't understand how this person got this job working with the public. Customer service, does it exist anymore? or is this the result of our subpar education system in New Jersey? I gave them 3 stars only because Dr. Schmidt is such a good doctor otherwise they would gotten 1 star. If the customer service was better I would highly recommend this office. read more

I was referred to this practice for treatment of a cataract. I was seen by a very competent and professional doctor on March 2, 2023 and was told I would be hearing from the scheduling department in a week or two. After not hearing from them in 4 weeks I called and left a voice message. After not hearing back after 9 weeks I went to the practice and was told by the receptionist that the scheduler is running 6 weeks out. I said I understood but we are now at 9 weeks. She wrote the schedulers number down on a sticky note and handed it to me. Of course I tossed it in the trash bin on the way out. I'm sure the doctors here are top notch, but with such terrible customer service and lack of follow up what good are they? Just a bad culture. I am scheduled for surgery July 13 with Eye Associates.....follow up surgery was scheduled the same day as my evaluation. read more

I had waited weeks for an appt (which is ok). Finally arrived, I went to the reception desk, I asked the receptionist (female) if I could pull over the chair (that was 2 ft away) to sit, as I am unable to stand for any length of time (degenerative disease hips and knees) and she said: "NO." It was difficult to hunch down over the desk in the cubicle where she was seated to fill out the paperwork at the level of my knees! And she was eating crunchy snacks during the sign-in. Once inside, the techs were rough, surely, and generally annoyed. The machine for the test I came for was not working and I had to wait for that. When I was told the machine was not working, a tech said: this is your lucky day! I asked why it was my lucky day, and she said, "...most people dont like this test." My lucky day? I to book a hotel as I am 3 hrs away, pay for gas, tolls, hotel, parking, pet sitter, etc. and now it was my lucky day that I wasn't going to get the test I had came for. (after a while they got the machine working, thank goodness.) During another test in a darkened room, other techs came in and out without knocking, and one even smacked my chair so my forehead came off the machine headrest, and we had to start over. The doctor was well known and very experienced, very warm and professional. But the techs, the receptionists--as bad as they come. Long waits? that is understandable. But if one of the techs/receptionsists/ancillary staff will ever experience diminished vision--then maybe they'd change their tune and treat patients with some humanity. read more

This place is rough. Every time I come here I have to take the day off and my driver takes the day off. Guys, its just a follow-up!!! Why is this going on? Can see if it was surgery or something major. Dr Schrack is wonderful but not if you don't have a few hours to send sitting in a waiting room basically 1/4 filled. Recently my In-Laws had a not so great experience here and I wanted to share because it's important to remember Happy and Satisfied patients are what keep you in business and staff employed I think front desk and appointment office staff can take this for granted, especially when dealing with our older generation. So my In-laws are very sweet and we drive far to see a Particular Dr here, who I think is wonderful and I have been wondering why if two married people are coming to the same Dr the same day for 1 appointment and yet have to drive the other for a week away appointment- why they both cannot have appointments the same day close together in time or even couple of hours and we can have a meal in-between-- why do they need to be days or weeks apart? Anyway this very conversation was being had at the back desk for appointments and the young lady assisting my Mum (short for Mother In-law) was snarky as all heck and making my Mum most uncomfortable. My Mum was trying to find a day she and my dad could both see the Dr at the same time, due to the drive and the girl was having non of it, getting huffy and annoyed, eye rolling, rude in her short abrupt responses...so much so, that the Dr overheard the conversation, so he walked back and politely requested as to why this was such an issue and could not be addressed? she stated that it was due to the other staff person on how appointments are booked. He responded that he was the Dr and to please try to see what day would be available that they could come in together, to please accommodate. Which I believe is correct and should apply accordingly to any elderly patients situation or certain driving geographical situations, some patients drive pretty far and if you can book them a realistic appointment, I mean imagine how that helps them out gives some relief to an already stressful situation. Anyway, as the Dr left to go back to his office the young lady wasn't finished and yet another snarky comment under her breath towards my Mum, along the lines of -- "WOW, aren't you lucky, you must be very special patients for Dr "so and so" for him to...." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? you don't say that to anyone, not anyone, no patient ever!! my Mum was mortified, absolutely embarrassed and hurt and I was floored!!! The Dr heard what this young lady said and asked someone else to now assist my Mum on her appointment. Now, I know in the world it is commonplace and perfectly acceptable to just say what you want and let the words and implications fall where they may, but here is a word of advise- In the real working world- In real life- customer service, politeness and being mature enough to understand that you are providing a service to customers is #1. Recognize- that when the rolls are reversed and you are on the receiving end of said service, there is know doubt, I mean I am 100% sure, you would in no way tolerate being treated in such an unacceptable way. So, it truly disheartens me to have to change my review based on 1 office staff person, but, in reading some of the reviews here, I am guessing it was only a matter of time. But when, she is interacting with patients at that exact moment of interaction- she IS representing the business and everyone in that office, hopefully it has been corrected. read more

I like my doctor but the office overbooks appointments and it's annoying how long you have to sit and wait

Dr. Raber is an amazing doctor, however his office staff is completely unprofessional. After confirming with Ophthalmic Partners as well as my insurance company that my insurance was indeed accepted I saw the doctor for a visit and scheduled a necessary surgery. After receiving an invoice in the mail for this visit just two days before my surgery, I called Ophthalmic Partners to sort the situation out. Turns out that even though they verified that they accepted my insurance (as well as it being displayed on their website to this day), they actually made a mistake and are no longer in the network since 2018 and did not contact the insurance company to let them know. After going back and forth with them, I spoke with their administrator, Nancy Baker who assured me that I wouldn't not be billed for my prior office visit. She attempted to rectify the error by referring me to anther doctor (who by the way, doesn't even perform this surgery). As a patient, I did everything that I was supposed to do and not once did I receive an apology. David in billing, as well as other staff members were extremely rude and made it seem as though their error was my fault, even though as a patient I did everything that I was supposed to do. Had I not pointed out their error, I would have had this surgery done and would've been responsible for the cost out of pocket. Because of their error, I had to find another specialist who is able to do this kind of surgery and postpone my surgery. After Nancy told me that I would not be billed, I am still receiving invoices in the mail. Save yourself the trouble and don't deal with Ophthalmic Partners at all. read more

While the Doctors may be top notch the administration of the practice is seriously lacking in my opinion. I had a visit for cataract evaluation in April and was scheduled for a preliminary procedure which entailed 3 visits for each eye before the cataracts could be addressed. The first of such visits was cancelled by the practice and rescheduled. The rescheduled visit did not occur since when I showed up I was told that there was no appointment on their schedule. I then scheduled all of the appointments going forward for each eye. The first appointment was confirmed and the next day I received a call cancelling it due to an emergency. This has been going on since April. I have now made an appointment with another practice. If you value your time look elsewhere for an ophthalmology practice. read more

I would not suggest anyone to come here. They make you wait a long time. Our appointment was for 2:45pm, we seat in the waiting room for almost two hours. Checked with the receptionist, was told they only have one doctor, and there were 10 other patients waiting. Okay, why do we need to make appointment in advance? So that we don't need to wait for 2 hours and plus. Thank you! read more

Is there a way to give less stars? Does the office have any concept of time when they book appointments? I guess they don't realize that for most of their senior patients they require another family member to take off time from their job to drive them to their appointment and wait until their done. I don't know but I think waiting for 90 minutes to see the doctor is pretty unreasonable and inconsiderate. Stupid me for thinking I could take my mother to her post op appointment on my extended lunch hour. Very annoying while you're waiting so long the people at the front desk are talking and laughing about their personal life. read more

Front desk staff are very unprofessional. Expect to wait a minimum of 2 hours for a scheduled appointment. I expressed my concerns about the wait times with the Dr. directly. His response was "I am a specialist and I have some complex cases". As a specialist with training and complex cases you should know how long an average appointment takes for a consult, a follow up or a surgery and train your staff schedule accordingly. Being a specialist does not make your time any more valuable than mine. read more

You have to wait long hours for these Doctors. If you have an appt for 1pm bet you life you be out of there by 5pm. I don't know why they even have appts they should only have walkins. read more

My mother got surgery in the past from a Dr at this office and is having some pain in her eye. I called at 9:30am to schedule an appointment for her. There was supposedly no available operator to take my phone call because they were too busy, so I opted to press * and have them call me back. They called back 3 hours later, told me my mom had an account balance so transferred me to billing to pay the balance before making the appointment but ended up hanging up instead. I called right back and spoke to a live person, but that person put me on hold. I opted to press * again to have them call me back (it is 2:30pm at this point) but received no call back. I called a little after 4pm and it's the after hours service, telling me they can't make the appointment but can only leave a message for the office. WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO GET A LIVE PERSON?! It should not take a person all day to make an appointment. A dr's office should be accessible. I will be telling my mom she needs to find a different doctor. read more
