Never use Opodo. They are expensive and unreliable.On 20 Feb I wrote a review about Opodo. On 7 February my son booked a return flight from Stansted to Hamburg with Ryanair via the travel company Opodo. After realising that he had been charged £126.54 twice for the flight and after much hassle (going round in circles with their chatbot on their site and hanging on the phone waiting for ages) he finally spoke to someone in a call centre who said he would be refunded. £126.54, the price of one flight, was credited to his bank account. However 2 days before the flight when he tried to check-in online through the Opodo app the message came up that 'You do not have a booking'. Knowing from experience that communication with Opodo was very difficult he booked the flight direct with Ryanair for the same dates.Complaining to the chatbot on their app is a waste of time so my son posted a negative review on Trustpilot. The following day he received notification from Opodo that his flight was booked. He flew out to Hamburg on the flight he booked direct with Ryanair.I received a bland reply that they appear to send whenever anybody complains. In spite of me twice updating the review I still have not heard anything more from them. My son wasted nearly £130 booking through Opodo after they double charged him and then cancelled his booking when he complained. One lesson from this is maybe use Opodo to find the flight for you but then book direct with the airline. Safer, cheaper and more reliable.26 FEBRUARY I have received thel same bland 'concerned' reply to this review from Opodo as I received to my last review. It is the same reply that they give to every complaint. That is all they do. After that they do nothing, just keep on scamming. Unfortunately when you use Google to search for a flight without putting in a definite airlinem because Opodo pay Google, they are the first website that comes up. Their website mentions all the British travel awards that Opodo has received but they are a fantasy and misleading lies. Accordingly I have contacted the Guardian/Observer consumer problem column and suggested that Opodo be investigated and that the Guardian publicise the fact that Opodo are a company that should be avoided at all cost, They should not be allowed to trade,UPDATED 01 MARCHIn spite of Opdo's 'concerned' reply we have heard nothing more from them. I have received the same reply twice and when you read other consumer's complaints it is the standard reply they give. However a standard reply is all you will get from them, then they will ignore you.It is almost criminal that Opodo pays Google so that if you do a general flight search the Opodo site is at the top of the list. Many people have been scammed by this. They appear legitimate because they give a list of fake British travel awards that they have supposedly received.NEVER BOOK THROUGH OPODO AS YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY. **Extremely Disappointed - Misleading and Untrustworthy Service** **Booking Reference: 21227289668** My experience with Opodo has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I booked flights through their platform, and my booking confirmation clearly showed that I was entitled to **1 personal item and 1 cabin bag** per passenger. The same information was clearly visible in the Opodo app -- easy to understand and reassuring when planning our trip. However, when we arrived at the airport, we were told we were only allowed **1 personal item**, and that **cabin bags were not included**. This was a complete shock, especially since I had contacted Opodo customer service after booking to confirm the baggage allowance, and they **explicitly confirmed via email** that both a personal item and a cabin bag were included. Despite this, we were forced to pay £70 per passenger to check in the cabin bags as **23kg checked baggage**, even though we only intended to bring standard cabin-sized bags. There were **three of us travelling**, so the unexpected extra cost was significant -- a total of **£210** added at the airport. I provided Opodo with a **receipt for the extra baggage payment**, along with a **screenshot of the transaction from my bank statement**, to prove the charges and request proper support or a refund. Unfortunately, my case was handed from one agent to another, with each giving a different excuse or explanation. No one took proper responsibility, and they clearly tried to delay and deflect the issue instead of resolving it. This experience has shown me that Opodo's service is unreliable, misleading, and completely lacking in accountability. They **mis-sold** the ticket by providing incorrect baggage information and then refused to make it right, despite clear evidence. What may seem like a small saving when booking with Opodo can quickly turn into a **costly and stressful experience**. I will **never use Opodo again**, and I strongly warn others to avoid them. The poor service, misleading information, and refusal to resolve their own errors make this company one to stay far away from. read more

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from Opodo regarding my recent flight booking from Seville to London, with a stopover in Paris. To provide some context, I booked two tickets through Opodo for this journey, and the first flight from Seville to Paris was uneventful. However, I encountered a problem with the second leg of the journey from Paris to London, where I was asked to pay an additional 120 euros for my bags. This was unexpected and unjustified as I had already paid for the bags when I made the initial booking with Opodo. After this unpleasant experience, I contacted Opodo several times through their website, requesting a refund for the additional charges incurred. However, the responses I received were far from satisfactory. In one instance, I was refunded only 10 euros with no explanation as to why the full amount was not refunded. Additionally, the responses I received were either generic apologies for the "misunderstanding" or a promise to "complain to another place", which did not address the core issue at hand. I am appalled by the level of customer service I have received from Opodo. The lack of communication and transparency has been extremely frustrating, and it is unacceptable for a company of such standing to treat its customers in this manner. I have sent numerous messages to their website, but there has been no response until I posted a complaint on external platforms. I kindly request that Opodo takes the appropriate steps to rectify this matter by refunding the full amount of the additional charges incurred during the second leg of the flight, and by providing an explanation for their actions. I would also appreciate more timely and transparent communication in the future. I hope to receive a response from Opodo that demonstrates a willingness to resolve this issue promptly and fairly. read more

worst bad experience with them. ive book my flight with them and the website crash telling that the bank rejected my payment and few seconds later i receive a text message that the money was debited in my bank account. i startled and shock because i didnt receive any booking confirmation but my money was gone. i contacted their office phone number and spoke to the customer service telling that this things happen, the lady named manisha informed and confirmed to me that their is a transaction but it was cancceld and regarding my money they will debit it back into my bank account within 24 hours since booking was not successful and to my surprise upto to this date i dont receive any money in my bank account, sending email to them and i only get an auto reply message for god sake return back the peoples money. hi ms rochelle, thank you for contacting opodo and apologize for the delay in our response, with regards to your booking reference :11924144949. we are sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience with us and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. we have received your message and we want to inform you that the charge never happened, but was only an authorization request. and since the booking was not successful, the sum was released again ,to be more sure, you can contact your bank as from our end everything has been done already. opodo prides itself on providing excellent customer service and we regret that you feel that we have disappointed you on this matter. sincerely, ekhlas.a your opodo customer care team read more

I genuinely cannot express what an awful company this is. My flight was cancelled and their website did not give me an option to reschedule it, and so I attempted to contact them through the only phone number available on their website. Not only did I wait on hold for half an hour without any service but I also was charged 81 dollars for the call. I finally figured out that I needed to call the parent company, eDreams, to actually get some customer service. Since I had already wasted my time and money on booking with this company, I figured I might as well take advantage of the 40% discounts on hotels that they wouldn't stop emailing me about. So, I did so. I went onto their website, where the price was advertised for my stay as 574 Euro (including tax). I went to checkout and, again, 574 Euro. I pay for the ticket and my receipt says 625 Euro. What? Even as I type this, the 574 Euro price for that same hotel is still being advertised. I called to ask about it and was told that I would not get the discount because I did not book the flight at the same time that I booked the hotel DESPITE the fact that I was shown 574 the entire checkout process. In most cases, I like to give the benefit of the doubt to companies. However, this was clearly malicious. The way I was talked down to by the customer service representative gave an impression that they were pretty experienced in shutting down the customers. They knew what they were doing. Much better off paying a little extra for a more reputable airline, at least you'll get what you've paid for. read more

I thought they were very efficient in getting me my booking - and I purchased an extra option allowing for flight changes as I wasn't sure of the date I needed to fly. The next day I knew I could fly a day earlier and went to change the flight. First problem was that the system didn't recognize my email for login (although they had sent me confirmation emails to that address) eventually I got through to an online help centre and they were going to try and change my booking for me. No fare for that new day they said, in spite of the fact that it had been available on their website before my issue with login AND it was still there when I got online again albeit £10 more expensive. I tried to change it under manage my booking but there is no option for change flight only cancellation. My advice is book directly with the airline and do not waste your money on buying the extra possibility of changing flights as it does not seem to work with OPODO. I wasted an hour of my time today trying to get online and change the flight with no result. I won't use OPODO again. read more

In Deutschland unter opodo.de bekannt. Getestet wurde ein Flug im November Eco Class rund 80.- teurer als beim Original Anbieter weiterhin in der ECO Prem Class rund 150.- EUR teurer wurde in der Vergangenheit desöfteren getestet immer mit sehr schlechten Ergebnissen vermutlich falsche Programmierung zur Datenbank Ein Hoteltest ergab bei einem Kurzurlaub ein Preis von 26,00 mehr als bei anderen Anbietern Wichtig . der Test ist eine Momentaufnahme könnte bei anderen Test abweichen read more

Be very careful of scam emails stating that you can get compensation for cancelled flights. The email has cancelled flight information and tries to get you to click on a compensation button. DON'T DO IT! The button has a link to an app called MANDRILL. It will ask for a password in order to scam you for trying to recover money that you never paid in the first place. Typically it will say you are owed 600 euros by Opodo, which is false. You have been warned. read more

I would call them day light robbers. Don't ever go near them, edreams. Opodo, go voyages, liligo all belong to one buisness, don't touch them with a barge pole. Worst customer services they offer and no refunds are offered despite cancelling there prime membership. This is the reason why there share prices are going down. Keep away innocent customers from these rascals and criminals. They are online cheaters, never to be trusted. read more

I ordered an air ticket from them only from one card, and a month later they started withdrawing my funds for buying air tickets.There are a lot of such scammers, THEY HAVE NO WHERE TO EVEN CALL!!!! This company needs to be shut down they have no morals and have been left to carry on, there must be a way to close them. I live in Hammersmith where apparently they have a head office but when I went there they hadn't been there for two years, so they have no face they are just a bunch of scammers. read more
