I found Magnum online, these guys got a Dr to do a house visit that afternoon, thank God because he was on blood thinning medication, they set him up on a lower dose of warfarin, got a nurse to come visit him twice a week to make sure he was reacting ok to the med dosage and also got a physical therapist to come to his house twice a week! He is doing 100% better now, able to leave his house when he wants and seems a lot healthier after the medication change. The physical therapist helped him to be able to exercise on his own and strengthen himself to be able to do household chores and his hobbies, I can't thank you guys enough, he really feels independent and happy again! Nightmare for me at Mission Point, Clinton Township. When I took my loved one home, I immediately received phone call from director saying that she was blindsided by patient leaving and I received another lecture. Very compassionate to call family about this. Not. I was blindsided the entire time my loved one was there. Before bringing patient home, patient was finally moved to a room where visitation was two hours a day (instead of 1/2 hour per day scheduled) if you knocked on locked door and someone inside just might see you to let you in. Traumatized every day wondering if someone would be there to let me in. If no one was there, you were to stand at locked door and call Mission Point to let you in, however no one answers the phone. So after patient got into this room, nurse said how much trouble they went through to do move the patient to new room and a thank you from me was in order. Another very compassionate nurse response. After that, I moved to bring patient home. Terrible experience at such a sad and traumatic time. Totally blindsided by Mission Point.

Also gave date when Medicare was ending payment but Amber Hospice told the rehab facility to cut my dad off a week early costing our family thousands in private pay expense. After cancelling their service after a week all I got was a sorry apology. I would strongly encourage anyone looking for a hospice company to avoid Amber Hospice/Homecare.

They only provide two meals a day which is beyond adequate for some, but for diabetics such as myself it can be troublesome (Dinner at 4 PM) but each unit comes with a fully equipped kitchen.
